IN LOVE WITH YOU! I stumbled across your couple direction video a couple of weeks ago and was devastated when I realised it was only one of so few of your videos. Keep them coming, you are incredible!!!
This is very helpful and I am so lucky I found your channel. I think its very unique because I have never seen any photographer show a real BTS video that shows incredible amount of poses and how they communicate with the client. Today I did a shoot with a couple and thanks to your videos, I was able to feel confident to give directions to them! PLEASE show more of these
I’ve been wanting to get into photography for a few months now and I stumbled upon one of your videos and you give me such motivation and inspiration to shoot. Thank you so much and please continue the behind the scenes, it helps so much 🥰🥰🥰
You are so awesome!!!! I love your behind the scenes video!! It gives me so much comfort knowing how someone else talks to clients. You’re so cool & talented! This makes me want to capture an In home session & drink some coffee lol My questions are though, How do you decided on choosing an in home session? Do you ask for photos of their home first? My fear is that there will not be enough natural light in an home. Can’t wait to see more! 🖤🖤🖤
I have been working on my posing and trying to come up with better ways to direct couples. Your videos have helped so much. I like how you get right to the point and just continue shooting. I also like that you show all ofyour shots throughout the video.
Oh my god this made me want to do a couple session lol they are so sweet and you were so good with directing but then also letting them doing their own thing and keeping the mood light and playful!
Love your work and videos! I’d love to know if you’re using auto iso... you don’t seem to have to spend time changing settings even when going from backlit to shade, etc. Would love to know how you manage your settings so quickly.
Thank you for sharing this! It is very helpful. I´m a wedding photographer but I will do my first In Home this weekend and was very very nervous about it! Your video gave me a lot of confidence. You are an amazing photographer btw!
I love your behind the scenes videos! I'm a super beginner photographer and I'm doing some unofficial engagement pics for some friends as practice and these are insanely helpful. Love your style!
Your vidoes are really amazing, thank you for taking the time to share! Also, I honestly cannot believe how many beautiful locations in Nashville you've show! Gorgeous.
Okay edit cause I commented while still watching the video. Those bridge shots though!! I'd love to see how you edited the people in the background out cause wooooow.
Definitely would love to see more behind the scenes videos like this, especially for non-wedding sessions. I'm a portrait photographer, but I don't do weddings, so I love seeing sessions that are more casual (and still so beautiful!) like this one! :D
I really love your videos and you are so talented at giving direction! One of the best that I have seen. Can’t believe I’ve only come across you recently!
I am constantly pushing that back button focus! It's just a habit to always keep pushing it. If there's a better way to constantly keep things in focus then I'm all ears!
Thank you so much, this is so interesting! My partner and I are both really uncomfortable in front of a camera, but I know that with a photographer giving directions like you, it would work. I love the way you’re helping them!
I definitely end up with plenty that are out of focus! I have my couples repeat certain prompts just in case I miss focus. I'm also trigger happy so I try to get as many shots as possible knowing that a lot of them will be out of focus
Hey girl! Love your videos so much! I have a question! What shutter speed do you try to stay on when you're doing all your movement shots? Also with outdoor sessions, what do you usually leave your f stop on?
Great! I love these BTS videos you make!:) Could you please also write/tell what settings you use and describe the lighting (source of light, direction, time of the day if natural light etc) ?? That would be very helpful!:)
Hi Becca, I've been watching your videos for couple of months now. Just wondering what size do you go for portrait and landcsape when editing? Thank you in advance.
I use a Nikon d750 as well and did an in home for a family and my gosh I had my iso at 1500 and it was so noisy and soft focus when others can push it more than that and get very little. Can I ask what your iso was for most of this? I’ve had my nikon for a few years now but haven’t done in home sessions often.
I can usually push my ISO to around 3-4000 and it doesn't look too grainy! I think it depends on what lens you have? 1500 shouldn't make it look super grainy!
Kiki Khan I’m curious as well. They are small on our screen but they look really clean for how dark it is there. I’m assuming the shutter speed is above 1/200.
This session lasted almost 3 hours because of all the variety we did! It was probably about 2.5 hour shoot. We did a lot of walking, driving to locations, and changing clothes.
I stick to 1.8-2.8 depending on what I'm going for. Yes! Something I do worry about so sometimes I'll even go higher like 4.0 if I'm super close to their faces and they're on different planes
I'm watching all your videos it helps me a lot, so thanks. I suggest that every photo you show please indicate the settings coz` I'm a beginner so that we have idea. thanks.
Can I ask which 35 and 24 you use? Are they both Nikkor? Im loving the perspective of your images and the creamy bokeh, and I feel like ive only ever achieved that with the sigma art series.

they are the most stunning easy going, comfy couple! beautiful. great work with prompts and all
You are so good at posing people without it feeling posed. Every shot looks so natural and the couple seems so comfortable. Great work.

Love that you managed to photoshop the people from the bridge out of the photo! The shots turned out gorgeous!!
Thank you! I'm definitely not the best with photoshop so I'm glad it turned out well!
I have been working on my posing and trying to come up with better ways to direct couples. Your videos have helped so much. I like how you get right to the point and just continue shooting. I also like that you show all ofyour shots throughout the video.

Your photography is Awesome! You seem to be having fun and that's why your clients just let loose to be themselves.
Love your work and videos! I’d love to know if you’re using auto iso... you don’t seem to have to spend time changing settings even when going from backlit to shade, etc. Would love to know how you manage your settings so quickly.
Same! Good question.
Idk about her but I stay at 200 or 400 ISO for an entire shoot and only change shutter speed and f stop. Never auto ISO because it goes REALLY high
OMG I love your videos! Can you do an equipment video???
absolutely!! Thank you so much!
Thank you for sharing this! It is very helpful. I´m a wedding photographer but I will do my first In Home this weekend and was very very nervous about it! Your video gave me a lot of confidence. You are an amazing photographer btw!
Love these !!!
Would love more directional posing session videos

I love the variety that you gave this couple! So many different scenes. I especially loved the shots by the window. The silhouetting is so stunning!

Thank you
I am constantly pushing that back button focus! It's just a habit to always keep pushing it. If there's a better way to constantly keep things in focus then I'm all ears!
@@beccacannonphoto I actually never knew about it, until I heard you speak of it in another video. I'll definitely be working on using it.
Thank you so much, this is so interesting! My partner and I are both really uncomfortable in front of a camera, but I know that with a photographer giving directions like you, it would work. I love the way you’re helping them!

The D750 certainly has a great dynamic range!

Really love your videos! If you ever do maternity photos, I’d love to see how you direct those shoots :)

Ugh how do you get zero motion blur and everything perfectly focused?! Photographer GOALS haha love your videos!!
I definitely end up with plenty that are out of focus! I have my couples repeat certain prompts just in case I miss focus. I'm also trigger happy so I try to get as many shots as possible knowing that a lot of them will be out of focus
great work! i love your bts videos. maybe you can make a video about editing your pictures because your editing looks amazing!!

You’re playing Derek Gust! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
So awesome! Love his stuff!
How do you get focus when you're moving around so much and constantly clicking?
Do you use continuous focusing by back bottom?...thanks. Great videos.
Hey girl! Love your videos so much! I have a question! What shutter speed do you try to stay on when you're doing all your movement shots? Also with outdoor sessions, what do you usually leave your f stop on?
Inspiring. Don't ever stop.

Omg this is amazing!!!!!!!
Love your videos! Wondering if you can do a maternity shoot or families?
Thank you so much 🙏🏻 this is just making things so much Les stressful. God bless you

Great directing! How many shots do you normally leave with before culling?
at an engagement session I probably take between 1000-1500 depending on how long the session was
Stumbled upon your videos and I am obsessed!
Can I ask what presets you use?
I use my own presets!
Would love to see an equipment video as well as what camera straps are you using?
Great! I love these BTS videos you make!:) Could you please also write/tell what settings you use and describe the lighting (source of light, direction, time of the day if natural light etc) ?? That would be very helpful!:)
I just found your site today and I'm addicted to it. I have a question about your lighting on interiors. What do you use ?
Your ideas are simple and stunning can I know what preset are you using for your Color grading
Loving this 👌🏻
thank you!
What settings are used? And no speed light for indoors?
Hi Becca, I've been watching your videos for couple of months now. Just wondering what size do you go for portrait and landcsape when editing? Thank you in advance.
I’m from the Indy area and one day when I get married, I’m definitely going to be contacting you!! Love your work!
YESS PLEASE!
Thank you for making these!!
This is so great! Thank you!!

Cannon Weddings I figured as much! I have a 50 1.4 I should probably just send it in for maintenance lol. Thank you!
That’s an awesome camera strap/ holster thing. Tell me more!!
This is so helpful, thank you!
Love this video! What harness are you using?
lovely!
I noticed you didn't have any artificial light but in the beginning it wasn't that bright in the kitchen...do you just adjust the brightness in post?
Kiki Khan I’m curious as well. They are small on our screen but they look really clean for how dark it is there. I’m assuming the shutter speed is above 1/200.
The kitchen wasn't the brightest so I had to do a lot of adjusting in post! I definitely brought up the brightness quite a bit
Love this! How many hours is a shoot like this usually and would you mind saying how much you'd charge for something like this?
This session lasted almost 3 hours because of all the variety we did! It was probably about 2.5 hour shoot. We did a lot of walking, driving to locations, and changing clothes.
amazing video Becca! :D
Your directions during the shoot looks like it’s inspired from India earl’s posing workshop!
I've actually not seen her workshop! But that makes me feel super good! haha
Still my favorite video from you guys haha.
What aperture do you normally shoot at? Do you worry about getting everyone on the same plane and in focus?
I stick to 1.8-2.8 depending on what I'm going for. Yes! Something I do worry about so sometimes I'll even go higher like 4.0 if I'm super close to their faces and they're on different planes
I'm watching all your videos it helps me a lot, so thanks. I suggest that every photo you show please indicate the settings coz` I'm a beginner so that we have idea. thanks.
You are amazing! Any tips for a photographer just starting out?! You are goal status.

Where is the second location you shot at? It was so beautiful in there!
It was called Houston Station in Nashville, TN. There are a lot of shops there and we stopped in a few of them
Thank you! I’ll be passing through here in the next month, so that will be something exciting to look forward to!
Do you have any problems with the D810 missing focus? Mine seems to miss a lot. Loving these videos! New subscriber 😊
How do you edit the people out of the photo?
Killer! Great job!
Can I ask which 35 and 24 you use? Are they both Nikkor? Im loving the perspective of your images and the creamy bokeh, and I feel like ive only ever achieved that with the sigma art series.
SO GOOD!
What is the name of the harness you use to hold your cameras? Do you happen to have a link to it?
what time of da do you shoot this type? it's amazing
