    The main aim of the platform is to precipitate debate on why teeth are crooked. Most people are not aware that (in most cases) the dental profession has little or no idea why the teeth are crooked, or for that matter why children need major surgery. Clearly there are genetic issues, however the science is clear, the weight of quality research papers, in respected peer reviewed journals, show that our modern lifestyle is a more important factor and most importantly we can do something about this.
    This is especially important as sleep apnoea, TMD, forward head posture and a most otolaryngology problems are implicated as other symptoms of the same underlying problem.

      @@sl4983 @Derrick Lewis Guys, what I meant is that Dr. Mew changed the way I live my life. I’m not only talking about tongue posture here. In order to mew, I had to correct my neck posture, which led to me strengthening my neck, back, abs, butt, and arms so that I could be able to do it. Before, I used to have horrible neck, back, and hip pain (especially when I had to study and do homework--I'm a college student). It's gone now because I changed my body posture.
      As Dr. Mew says, to change your posture is to change who you are. And that's true. Now, for the first time in my life, I walk and sit up straight, and people have even told me I look taller. I'm also more confident.
      Mewing even affected the way I eat. Before, I didn't chew my food at all and had bad posture while I ate. As a result of changing those bad habits, my digestion got better.
      Overall, I'm exercising now, and I'm having healthier habits. My body has never looked better and more toned and more pain-free. On top of all that, I'm already starting to see mewing results on my face. They are subtle, but they make a difference in my appearance.
      So yeah, my life did change thanks to him. I'm healthier.
      But its continuous hard work every single day. It's worth it though.

    I like that Mr. Mew is looking at the body as a whole and how certain muscles effect others. Our body muscles and bones are attached in such a way that weaknesses in some cause strengthening in others (Sounds familiar? For every force, there is an equal and opposite force). Usually these aren't for the best. As we know with the face, a lack of proper tongue and jaw posture can lead to lengthening of the face and narrowing of the teeth. Examples other than Mewing include the' tech neck' and anterior pelvic tilt, caused by extensive sitting and leaning forward. Our lower backs and upper thighs get tight and strong, while our abs and glutes weaken, causing the spine to 'adjust' its upright posture in an overarching loop. This is similar to those with bad facial posture, as they adjust their entire head by looking higher up at a greater angle from the neck (at this point we may see a backwards-sloping forehead. If you follow regular exercises and stretches that properly activate body imbalances, I am certain you will see positive change without the need for surgery.
    I wish you all the best of luck and don't forget to Mew!

    • @jaymartinez910
      @jaymartinez910 3 роки тому +4

      Hi, I am not a medical professional so take this as a grain of salt but for anterior pelvic tilt issues I suggest you take a look at AthleanX Jeff Cavalier’s videos on Anterior Pelvic Tilt and his videos on ab exercises with back pain. He tells us why someone would have the problem in the first place and what ab exercises you should and shouldn’t do with the current condition. The whole idea is there is a major inbalance with certain muscles. In turn, other muscles are overused in order to fulfill our daily functions, but to the detriment of our overall posture. Good luck on your health journey!

      @jaymartinez910 3 роки тому +1

      Hi, I am not a medical professional. My suggestions are based on personal experience and may or may not work for others. I suggest you continue to new and keep proper tongue and lip posture. I suggest you exercise your body evenly to strengthen all parts of your body. Good luck on your health journey.

    In general I liked Pavel’s concept of doing many sets spread extremely far apart. While working from home a simple base exercise for me would be to go up and down my staircase (about 14 steps or half a “flight”) 14 times a day as one set, and to get 8 sets of that in per day. To mix it up I sometimes carry dumbbells or go up 2 or 3 steps at a time. Today, instead I’m walking 2+ hours per day. Remember stair training needs to be supplemented by hamstring exercises.

    Hello ! I personaly mew since 1 year and after all this time I discoverd that neck hypertrophie is probably one of the best way to have a better tong posture. In fact neck hypertrophie will provide better head posture if you do it corectly ! For exemple 1 minute of front, lateral and back neck planck with littel weight ( between 1 and 5 kg for a beginer ) will highly improve your neck and tong posture if you overload the exercice progressively. After now 3 month training my posture and my face have better looking and health ! Thanks you Doctor for the video and advises ! Hope to have helped you ! 3:45 It depends if your focus is on muscle endurance, strength or hypertrophy. Light, frequent forces won't do much for the latter two, but it will help with regards to endurance. It has to do with regards to the different muscle fibres and what level of stimulation is needed to break them down and trigger a growth response.

    I agree with making things little and often exc. As a calisthenics nerd I do not agree with hands-out style of press ups. Normal or Dimon press ups pleas.

    For general posture stuf Mew i recommend ppl start kettlebells. Clean and Press and Terkish get ups are a good place to start. Lads start with a 16kg unless your dinged up. Girls start with 8kg. You need to Get your form decent through. Watch Mark wildmans vidioes.

    yo guys a bit off topic im 18, i notice that my lips r a bit skewed to the side of my jaw due to an asymmetry in the jawline (they skew to the side of my jaw that is horizontally recessed). This has caused a weird fat distribution of buccinators at the edge of the curved side of my mouth and in some lightings shows a visible protrusion to the side, similar to a nasolabial fold in appearance. Might mewing solve this?
    And another thing, i have hollow orbitals and my eyes bulge a bit to where they catch light directly shone over top my head since my brow isnt quite hooded enough, i despise it, will mewing make that area more compact/hunterish over time, perhaps with raising cheekbones/midface?

    Doing exercise frequently but less intensely is more effective for posture yea, as muscle fibers are adapted to movement more quickly, especially using isometrics and slow exercises, like 5 seconds going up and 5 going down. However, gains are better with 48 hours of rest between intense routines for each muscle group
    Also, control more the negative of the movement Mike 😄

      More sets with higher reps/ less weight is good for definition, but not necessarily strength
      Less sets with lower reps/more weight is good for strength, but not necessarily size.
      Too high of reps will be endurance training, which will tighten the muscles but will not lead to growth.. Too high of weight can break or permanently damage tendons and bones.
      The same principles used in body muscle building apply to our facial posture and exercises.
      If you do an exercise *close to failure* (not to failure) everyday for a set amount of time (say, 30 days), your body will build more nuclei in the muscle, which will allow it to be stronger and bigger when doing that exercise in the future. It does not mean it will necessarily grow a lot in the 30 days, but it will allow your body to reach new levels at a future time. It is like having an organic balloon that has a maximum capacity. If the balloon itself grows, it's expansion when filled also grows. This is similar to the muscle creating more nuclei.

    Handstand Hold is probably the best exercise for bettering your posture coz u don't have to apply pressure to stick your tongue up to the palate, gravity will do the job.

    Sir, in my opinion this will injure muscles if we go right into the pushups
    Before exercise there's a need for warmup or we'll end up worsening our posture
    Well it's a really a👌 nice idea to incorporate exercises in our normal daily routine.

    Guys help! i know the tip of the tongue is supposed to be just behind the front teeth without touching them, and as much of the tongue should be resting at the palate, BUT I CANT DO BOTH. If the tip of my tongue is forward enough i cant get the rest of my tongue up and if i keep my mid and back tongue at he roof of my mouth, the tip is way to far back :( what am i doing wrong?

    • @Solistastyle
      @Solistastyle 3 роки тому +1

      Don't focus on the placement of the tip of the tongue. Focus on putting the posterior third of your tongue up against the palate and tongue seal. Google tongue seal. But the most important part is the posterior (back) third of the tongue up against the palate. The rest should then fall into place as you seal your tongue ie. Suck the air out. 🥂

      Your tongue will/should be able to relax over time. As at the moment the fascia is tight and you aren't able to relax it. (unless you have an unlikely underdeveloped tongue).
      Trying different head positions with tongue gently held on back of palate may help.

    Excercises are acutally essential to us humans. If you are not using the muscles in your body they are going to become flabby and you are going to experience constant pain in your back, shoulders, knees etc. I've heard of quite a few ppl who had back pain and once they began working out the pain subsided. So work out!
