- It's been almost a year since Halloween Ends closed the DGG trilogy of the franchise. It's a unique movie for sure, and some might say quite misunderstood. Let's reflect and go deep into this heavily debatable film. #HalloweenEnds #Revisited

Hey everyone. This might be the most i've ever done in a breakdown video. I TRULY believe this movie is so misunderstood and more importantly, the answers are ALL THERE. If you're unsure or just pissed about what you don't understand about this movie, I urge you to WATCH THE VIDEO first. And I never ask, but I think it's important here. Not saying you will like the movie after watching, but at least you might understand it a little more. Peace everyone. We're all horror fans. Love you guys. Love each other.
It js very refreshing to see such a positive opinion about this film. Great revisited review :)
@JosephTheHorrorGuy it sucks
@@CO27 movie is trash
@@CO27 Thank you!
@chad6326 Great rebuttal "Chad". Its the standard response from people who don't like it. Let those of us who do enjoy it, do so.
I LOVE Halloween Ends. From the first time I watched it in theaters, I “got” what David Gordon Green was doing, and I adored it for all the reasons you said. It’s just my jam.
Yep. Love it.
In my opinion Michael was pathetic in this movie and i didn't care much for Corey as he was a new character in the final film, big risk but they took it once you make Micheal weak its already over i mean it looks like hes ready to die the first moment we get introduced to him in the film it was heartbreaking what they done with his character and it also doesn't make sense because in 2018 and kills thier building him up to be this unstoppable force and when we get to ends its just frustrating what they do with Michael hes no longer an evil monster but just an old man who has give up i hate it lol
But there's a REASON Michael is weak. The evil inside him didn't depend on him anymore. I explain this heavily in the video James. Give it a chance.
@DrumdumsMovieReviews the movie sucks. Stop trying to make excuses for absolute 💩
That’s why Ends is so much better when you just skip Kills.
@@andrewparasino8769 Ends is better when you skip Ends. It sucks
@@DrumdumsMovieReviewsbro why do all these things in the final movie?? I like this movie but I understand why people hate it, the marketing made it seem like Michael was heavily involved, dgg is an asshole for misleading cause he knew people would be mad, I can see michael as weaker but barely able to move?? I like the idea but it was dumb to introduce everything in ends, it shows they never had a fucking plan
Halloween Ends Novel is awesome! Lots of extra things you would love!
I agree. The novel improved the movie for me.
Halloween Ends was excellent 10/10
So glad they had the balls to do something different and entertaining. Reminded me of Christine
This comment makes happy
I feel like this movie would've been better received by fans and general audiences if it had been its own thing rather than being in the Halloween franchise. I liked it but I can understand why people would be disappointed by the movie focusing on Corey rather than Michael and Laurie.
@@russellhunter9951 and if it'd been another Michael vs Laurie heavy movie, people would've bitched saying it was the same stuff we've already seen before in previous movies. They were backed into a corner early on when they said Michael didn't care about Laurie. Their two encounters in this trilogy were by coincidence
No way you said 10/10 🤣
@@jmoriarty8000 absolutely. It was the most interesting of the DGG trilogy
Hearing this made me wanna go back and view it in that way. When I first watched it I felt betrayed. But now watching it through those lenses I found a little more to appreciate about it. I just wish it wasn’t the last movie in the trilogy
Thank you! Love that you gave it another chance under that mind set.
I love Halloween Ends, it was a instant classic for me! Great review🔥🔥
Thank you!
The way you explained this film was perfection. I completely agree with you. Thanks for going above and beyond!! Have a blessed evening :)
Thank you!
I really do hate how weak Myers was
Watch the video. I explain this in detail.
@@DrumdumsMovieReviews you did. I just tend to post comments mid video 🤷♂️
I actually would have preferred if Myers wasn't even in the movie. I was invested in Corey and his story and him being the next step for this evil but then they wanted to have their cake AND eat it too so here comes Myers for a final fight with Laurie and they lost me. Great video happy to sub to this channel.
Thank you for the sub!
I’m a simple man. When Drum Dums speaks about Halloween, I listen 🫡💯
Thanks brother!
Great video Lee and you were right is indeed bittersweet that this will be the end of the Halloween Revisited series for now, for me especially. The first video of yours I ever saw was one of your Halloween revisited ones so they introduced me to your channel and I’m glad they did!
And I thank you for watching Chris!
Can’t deny I hate this film with a passion. Great video man and looking very well
The movie is so bad
I will never watch Halloween Corey again lol
Agreed, a total masterpiece in crappy horror films.
Same
The Sound Track & Micheal are the only good things that came out of that Trilogy.
Watched it in the theatre.. and wont watch it again.
Gonna pretend that it didnt even exist
Watch it again after watching this video. I promise you'll look at it differently.
@@DrumdumsMovieReviews fine.. just because Drumdums recommended. Love your videos btw👍🏼👍🏼
@@555rzk Good man.
I love ENDS. It's not about Michael. Or just solely about Michael. It's about evil. It's always been about Evil. Evil is like a parasite looking for a host and for years Haddonfield was that host and Michael was It's nucleus. I never liked all the annoying forced fed satire in all 3 movies, but when it comes to the shape, he fkn ruled. This movie rules 🤘
I like to think of Halloween Ends as the Epilogue
Yes agreed.
You should think of it as 💩
@@chad6326 but chad I lIkEd It BeCaUsE iT wAs DiFfErEnT 😂🗑️
Been waiting for this!!! Ready to get into the season with these reviews🎃🎃
They fumbled this entire trilogy imo. I didn't hate Ends tho.
I agree. I think this is a horrible story choice for the third part in a trilogy
Genuinely enjoyed hearing your breakdown on this! Took me a couple watches to appreciate it, more as a standalone vs an overall package with the other movies but you did bring some things to my attention I did not think of, really enjoyed your breakdown on the tower and Corey burning it down, I completely missed that. Thank you !
Thank you! I completely missed the burning tower until this last watch. That's what I love about this movie.
I love Halloween ends soooooooo damn much. I knew from the moment I saw it I just had to put it in a different pocket than wanting a perfect DGG trilogy. We heard for years that these 3 movies were gunna take place on one night. And they probably would have without the pandemic. I would have liked to see that, but I’m so glad we ended up with this weird off the beaten path masterpiece. Once people are separated from the marketing years down the line and don’t have to think of this as a Jamie vs Michael final showdown it’s going to be infinitely more appreciated. Once newer fans can just watch this movie by itself it’s going to take on a whole new life. Funny enough I watched this with my son in an extremely out of order weird way where he only saw the original before ends. Michael disappears but the town still fears him, it make an interesting sequel to the original itself. Great review Lee, it’s been a fun 6 years with this era of the franchise and I’ll still be watching you as we move into whatever’s next!
Thank you so much good sir!
Halloween Ends was not what I was expecting, but I loved it. I loved all three of the DGG movies. What you said about bullies is absolutely true - yeah, the bullies in this movie are some band geeks, but in a group like that? They were your typical asshole bullies, and you described bully behavior spot on. Nice review overall too.
I loved the misdirection.
You must be blind to like this dumpster fire 😂
I wanted Michael to be unbreakable. The best ending would have been Michael jamming the gears, the grabbing Laurie and throwing her annoying ass in there instead, destroying the rest of the town, then being free to do whatever he pleased.
So sad the “Revisited Series” has reached its end! But you ended it on a high note! Thank you for it!
Yeah it's bittersweet. Thank you Shane.
@@DrumdumsMovieReviewsNo more "Revisted" reviews at all?
@@santos8468 No I’ll still do them for other franchises.
It might be my least favorite Halloween film
Lee, there are a lot of UA-cam channels that do things like rank the Halloween movies...BUT yours is the only one I feel does it really intelligently and definitely seems closest to my thoughts. I've really enjoyed your Halloween videos (and other videos). And you pointed out a few things I missed concerning this truly underrated film. THANKS!!
Thank you for the kind comment!
I guess I've never personally witnessed a group of teenagers bullying a grown man before IRL. That alone was the most unbelievable thing in this film and that's saying something.
Just because you never witnessed doesn't mean it doesn't happen. They're literally 3 years younger than him, and about the same size. If you watched the video, I state that bullying isn't just a physical thing. It's also VERY mental, especially in this day and age.
I love your insights and your flipped me for a disliker to a lover of Halloween Ends. A big part of the reason folks didn't like it is b/c the general sees most of these movies of Lorie v. Myers. This wasn't that, but it rocked. It truly did!
Thank you Dominick! You just have to realize that there is much more to this than just Laurie vs Michael. Bigger picture.
I believe Halloween 4, Rob Zombie's Halloween 2 and Halloween Ends all have a connective theme in common: The passing of evil unto innocence. Jamie, Corey and Laurie (in Rob's timeline) all begin as innocent and have a cross way with Myers and are touched by him and the Evil. I think its interesting how you point out it isn't Corey whose saying 'You're just a man in a mask' to Micheal, but the evil. The evil is symbolically tied to its host, I just thought it was The Mask who gave the shape its power, but its always been there.
I appreciate and even like this movie more the time passes.
I so appreciate this video! Thank you for putting yourself out there to give your opinion. I agree with you completely! I have seen this film quite a few times since seeing it in the cinema, and I have come to truly appreciate and admire David Gordon Green for his artistic courage and for putting his vision onto the screen no matter what fans may say. I will be a forever fan of the DGG films. You have said so many things that I have had a hard time putting into words for myself. Thank you.
Thank you Jason!
Great video lee. I love ends. I felt burned the first time I saw it in the theatre. Then I watched breakdown and watched the movie again and it just clicked.
I noticed new things that were cool like Corey stabbing Mathis and have loved it more and more ever since. It’s very rewatchable and a second viewing does this film wonders.
This was so good. So glad you made this and broke it down like you did. You hit the nail right on the head. This is such a sophisticated movie. Great review.
Thanks so much for watching man!
Loved your insight on this amazing film.. thanks for your dedication lee!!!

@@DrumdumsMovieReviews very welcome
Lee, the whole DGG Trilogy is perfection to me, I don't think I've ever had as much enjoyment from horror movies as I have these, this Trilogy is one I constantly gush over and recommend and I love it to death! I have all 3 movies on display in my house bc they are perfect to me! You're Awesome Brother!🤘🙏
Hell yeah. I love ‘em too. I think each movie brings something unique and I love that we finally have a timeline true to the original with a satisfying ending. My favorite is still kills, it’s such a blast. Really under-appreciated trilogy imo.
@@nextgenstudios4878 I just watched the whole trilogy today again and I absolutely love this timeline, these are my favorite 3 by far and it's so unique and misunderstood, it's a hard run for which of the 3 is my favorite. The way Myers looks and the cinematography is just perfect. I enjoyed every second of these 3 films!
I loved these movies. My favorite one is probably Halloween ends just because it’s really poetic and satisfying.
We've reached the end of the road, my friend ❤.
Great revisit, as always, Lee. I think you nailed what you said about bullies and how the come in all forms and shapes!
Also very interesting your take on Evil and how in Ends it is more of an entity that attaches to different hosts, rather than in the previous entries.
Btw, I've said it before but I loved Ends. I will always remember leaving the theater mesmerized by what I had just seen.
Thank you for your content, man 🎉
Thank you! And yes I truly believe that about bullies. It's not just physical.
One more comment from me: I see HALLOWEEN ENDS as basically another HALLOWEEN III. It's the 3rd film that pissed off so many people because it did not give them what they wanted or thought they were going to get. And both HALLOWEEN III and HALLOWEEN ENDS are, in my opinion, two of the most interesting and well-made films in the franchise. I liked all three of the films in the new trilogy, but I think ENDS is the best. It also felt like, to me, the most Carpenter-like film of the three. I found the Corey character truly captivating. And I found this the least convoluted of the new films but with many subliminal layers. (My personal ranking of the three new films is actually: 1) HALLOWEEN ENDS; 2) HALLOWEEN KILLS (the flashback sequence is one of the best sequences in the whole franchise); 3) HALLOWEEN 2018...but all three are very well done.)
This video is fantastic. Bravo sir. I have always been a champ for Ends. I love what they did with this movie. It was refreshing, different, well written.....it was a shot of adrenaline for the Halloween franchise in terms of story and direction.
Thank you!
This film is extremely overly hated. Instead of a straight-up ultimate slasher like Kills, this is a surprisingly character driven horror revenge. It’s pretty much Halloween by way of Stephen King (probably intentionally due to the Christine connections). A very solid film and is one of my favorites in the series. My only complaint is that there should’ve been more tag team kills with Corey and Michael to build their relationship. Other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I would have dug at least one more tag-team kill for sure. But yes, it definitely leaned more on story/characters.
Sounds great if it wasn’t a damn micheal myers movie. Not what we want to see from this franchise
I would love to have seen more tag team kills, as well. I also would've liked to see more scenes of Corey and Laurie before he begins his descent into evil. I love the little glimpse we get of their relationship before he meets Michael.
i definitely agree, one or two more kills from Michael would have been Chefs kiss.
I think they were intentionally trying to mirror his screentime and low body count from the original though.
Watching Corey fumble and Michael have to step in and teach him how to do it,
thats the craziest shit since the head tilt.
It blows my mind that anybody defends this trainwreck. So much of it didn't make any sense at all. There never should have been ANY tag team kills. If they were going to do Michael as dirty as they did, I'd rather they had said he crawled into a hole and died after the end of Kills and this would have just been a new story about a new character. But, by the end they just kill off Corey very easily and unceremoniously, just for us to get a few minutes of the movie most of us wanted to begin with. That pretty much made the entire story with Corey pointless.
This video is the fire. Some of your best work lately IMO. Thank you.
Thank you!!
@@DrumdumsMovieReviews Most respect.
Wow you have absolutely opened my mind to a whole new view on Halloween Ends
Yes! Thank you for hearing me out.
Love this movie. People will see it differently in time.
I agree.
I don't think so. I don't hate it anymore like I used to when it came out and I started to see the good things in that movie but my opinion and that of other fans won't completely change. It might get more love from different generations for sure but the fans who witnessed that movie in theatres will never not be disappointed. It was an interesting story, it just didn't fit into the trilogy as a finale at all.
Lee, don’t fret, you’re doing another review in 19 months, keep the great content coming.
When Corey said to Laurie if I can’t have her nobody can that reminds me of Fear (1996) where Mark Walhberg was so obsessed with Reese Witherspoon character and this movie almost reminded me of Fear and it’s a great thriller movie too Lee brother
I only found this because you mentioned it in your decisive video. Ever since my second viewing, this has been my favorite of the DGG trilogy. You did an excellent job of explaining why this deserves to be appreciated for what it is.
Thank you David.
DGG's trilogy feels like it's more about the town rather than Michael. Michael is just the storm, and we're put in the shoes of the townspeople and how they react to it.
H40 - the town being unprepared by the upcoming storm that is Michael.
Kills - how the town reacts during, hence the chaos.
Ends - how the town reacts after, and where there's another one coming in the form of Corey.
Agreed
Thanks Lee for proliferating Ends. Your insight and passion towards the subversion entry of the franchise really refines and transcends the artistic choices and merits to a level of appreciation beyond what has been a stale staple for decades.
As for the neigh-sayers, they are always going to be scared of something new, and when it’s not, then they complain that it’s not. But when it is, then they complain that it is .
Keep up the good fight Sir!
Thank you!
At first when I saw this movie I was confused on what I saw then after the second watched it I embraced on what it was trying to do, be something different in a way with Halloween 3, Corey is my favorite character in this movie and wish he would’ve lived to make a new series with him as Michael I know that will sound controversial but I’m into it, definitely my 2nd favorite Halloween movie in my opinion.

Great video Lee, I still absolutely love Halloween Ends and I only have one big complaint with the film and it's the marketing. Not even the marketing for the film when it was going into theaters, I get why they did that, had to get butts in seats without spoiling anything. I'm talking about after the films release, it's been almost a year since the film released and all the posters, physical media cover art, promotional material, it all still just features Laurie and Michael and not a single image of Corey or Allison anywhere. I've got the 4k and looking at the front and back tou still would think it's a big battle between Laurie and Myers only, one day I would love some posters and Steelbooks and 4ks that has great artwork that features Corey and the actual tone and vibe of the film.
Love this video. Really thoughtful. I didn't like this movie when I saw it, but you've made me want to rewatch it
Awesome thank you!

Just saw this recently after Green's others and the original and had expected it to be a stinker based on what I'd heard in the last year...but loved it. The previous two films felt like a finale unto themselves and Ends needed to be different. You said it best -- a coda. Subbed!
Preach...and thank you!
The great thing about Carpenter films is they bring up so many questions and answer none of them for you. I call this new trilogy “The Shape Trilogy”. It focuses more on JC’s concept of the Shape. Michael was one of many and isn’t the central focus the entire time. Evil never dies, it changes shape. It’s a theme that connects the 4 movies in the timeline. Every time I watch it, I see new things I didn’t before that reinforce this idea for me. Was it Corey’s abusive home life? Was he born predestined to be this? The different murders-Corey trying to find his own method of satisfying his bloodlust? When Jeremy was screaming upstairs, he was pausing and staying still and walking slowly. He wasn’t running to save a child in danger. It brings up so many questions and dissent answer them either. ENDS isn’t my favorite but I do love this movie and appreciate what they did
Very spot on, as JC put into the original film "every town has something ike this.." before we get the Charlie Bowles story.
Michael was always meant to be just one iteration of evil not evil itself. The same way Kills built out of the plot of 78 where Brackett suggests
they alert everybody, Ends is built of of the theme of evil and its many manifestations.
Like when Carpenter and Debra had the kid with the razor blade in his mouth in H2, to remind the audience,
there's other evil people in that town tonight.
Just found your channel. Loved the video and your setup is dope!!!

I hated the movie when I first came out of the theater. Big time. It was miserable for me to watch the first time. Then, I watched it on Peacock with a couple of friends that just had a baby and were not able to go to the theater and I thought to myself "that was interesting, but I still don't like it". After a couple more watches I can say that Halloween Ends is a FASCINATING movie. So deep, so layered. After being in the bottom of my ranking, it has climbed neared the top.
Great video, Lee. You pointed out some nice details that I hadn't picked up on. Keep fighting the good fight. Evil doesn't die. It changes shape.
Fascinating is a great way to describe it. I notice something new with every watch.
Awesome video, Lee. Ends is my favorite of the new trilogy.

@Drumdums Now you got me wanting to watch Ends and I just watched it Saturday 😂 but anyways absolutely love the video man!!! I’ve loved Ends since I saw it the first time in theaters and I’ve been arguing with friends and people at work about the fact that Cory was imagining that Laurie was actually there but she wasn’t 😂 Glad I’m finally seeing someone else say it… As always man much love and I appreciate you for your content and what you give us brother 💪🏼
Thanks man. I had to make this video because of the same complaints I constantly hear that can easily be explained.
Finally !! now you can start revisiting Friday and nightmare, lol. Nice review, man.
Great video & I'm one of the few that actually like this movie. I do understand some ppl gripes with some of the things in Ends but I still think that it's under appreciated. The ONLY thing that I would change to convey that evil is a virus is the ending. After Michael is killed if Corey suddenly got up because the evil has jumped from Michael to him as he becomes the new boogie man I believe that it would've at least tied Michael to the story better & satisfied more fans.
Halloween Ends is like the Halloween that took mushrooms and realized it had some growing to do and then did it.
At 15:02 you opened my eyes. That’s actually a really well way to look at it. And I really enjoyed the film. 👏 on this one.
Thank you! Yes this is easily the most misunderstood portion of the movie, and it's hard to make that leap. But once you understand what the "evil" is doing, it makes complete sense.

This was absolutely the best take that I have ever seen on this film, and I agree 100%. I think that much like Halloween III, this one will be revered later in the future, instead of being despised. Thank you for another brilliant take, and I never thought to think that it was the Evil that was saying that Michael was just a man in a Halloween mask. I can't see how there are 42 people who downvoted this, other than just dismissing it without having watched it. And Lee, you are the Halloween authority, as far as I'm concerned, as well.
Thank you Bill! This is the one movie I wanted the nay sayers to at least watch before commenting. But I knew there would be many that just blindly cast their downvote haha.
I haven't really watched this movie or Kills... but I like watching reviews rethinking their opinions. I can now respect Halloween III and things like this because of you or channels like this where they realized "wait... this is supposed to be bad?" so this is good from a distance as well!
Definitely the most divisive Halloween film to date. It really doesn't work for me personally but it's cool that it has its fans.
It's the Tokyo drift of the Halloween world
Liked it when it came out, then I slowly got angry at it when I was thinking about the trilogy as a whole. I revisited it recently and I genuinely think it's one of the best Halloween sequels. Thinking about it a lot more and paying attention to the script made all the difference
I was a bit upset by the end on first watch. Now it makes complete sense in the context of the story.

@@cjbunker8889 Are you a real human being with functioning vitals writing this?
@@RocklinGraves yah i am...but u being a liberal with no common sense wont be able to comprehend that....get lost bozo
Paying attention to the script and story is exactly why I HATE the movie. Even if the idea of the evil passing into a new character is cool, the execution was SO bad. The amount of plot holes, massive plot conveniences, cringe dialogue, established lore that gets completely ignored, not being able to make up their minds about what is going on with Michael... it was just terrible in every conceivable way. I'm okay with them going in a different direction. I wasn't just pissed that it wasn't a Myers movie. I was far more pissed at the trainwreck of an execution. They build this whole movie up as Corey's story... just to SO EASILY and unceremoniously kill him off at the end, so that we could then get a few minutes of the movie we went to see in the first place. Making the entire story kinda pointless. They didn't know what kind of movie they were trying to make.
Do you think Halloween (2018) should of started with Corey’s story, Myers breaks out and is still rebuilding. The events of Halloween 2018 happen in the 2nd movie and then Halloween Kills is the 3rd final film. Just something to think about.
Honestly it's easy to say that, but I'm not sure how it would have worked in the on-going story. Maybe in Kills.
I liked Halloween Ends. Especially the Autumn Vibes of Haddonfield and Laurie Home in Nighttime, The Spooky Halloween Night, Cinematography, Neon Lights, Music and the Retro vibes. I even more like this movie than 2018, it just my opinion, please dont kill me
The musical score by John & Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies was top notch here. The Junk Yard is one of the best tracks in the entire franchise. I didn't love this trilogy as a whole, but I actually liked Ends cause like you said, it tried something new. I think it didn't balance perfectly with the overarching narrative, but I appreciate it for what it is. Loved Corey and waa lucky enough to meet his actor, Rohan Campbell, a few years before he did this movie! Super chill dude!
Halloween Ends was a fun movie that refreshed the story of Haddonfield. The Michael and Lori narrative ended with Kills. I saw this movie twice opening weekend because it was fresh and took the story in a different direction. Halloween, Halloween (2018) and Kills was the trilogy. I saw Ends as a bonus story instead of a trilogy end. Awesome video, thanks.
I love this trilogy and this movie. My ranking is Ends, Kills, 2018. For me Ends was done right, love the Cory story, love the final battle. Can’t wait to see what content you bring us this Halloween Season brother, I’ll be tuned in.
Great retrospective, Lee. Definitely read the book it enhances the whole experience. What I really like about this movie is that it is a character piece and a study into the inner workings of evil and takes into account how it operates in both nature and in nurture. How trauma is ‘passed on’ and how it is a self-sustaining parasitic cycle.
Beautifully stated Braxton!
@@DrumdumsMovieReviews Aww, thanks, man!
I've been on the fence about this movie ever since it came out. I've always wanted to like it but didn't really have a good argument for my reasoning (probably didn't need one...we like what we like...) but this particular video put into words a lot of what I think I've been thinking but never knew how to say. Good analysis, man. I too think Halloween (78), Halloween (18), and Kills work as a trilogy with Ends being somewhat a Coda. Frames things in a satisfying way. Thanks for the thoughts and the video!
Thank you! Glad I could express what the movie is really all about.
Perfect timing with this video. I just saw it again yesterday. I still feel the same way. It was good but there are things I did not like or would have preferred they've done things differently.
I am glad they went against the grain on this one though. It truly is one of the most unique films in the franchise.
@DrumdumsMovieReviews I appreciate the risk they took with wanting to go in a different direction from the same Halloween template. Understanding that I still don't like to see a weakened Michael Myers even though the story needs it. The ideal Michael should always be strong and intimidating. So that's one I didn't like. I think the film could have also benefitted from introducing Corey in the first film while teasing his descent into darkness (evil). I think his fate would have had a much bigger emotional impact with the audience. All in all, I have a better appreciation for the movie after watching it yesterday.
There are things I really like about this movie, then there are things I hated. The most unforgivable thing is how Myers was dispatched. Honestly if they had both died in the kitchen, I would have been fine with that, but man that ending was so cringe.
It also ties into the rest of trilogy better than people say. Michael looking into Corey’s eyes ties in with him looking at his reflection in the window as an adult and kid.
I think Michael once experienced what Corey did when he looked into his eyes. His stared into his eyes as a kid and saw the shape inside himself and one day the two clicked.
Great point actually.
Halloween ends grew on me so much more in the past year. I absolutely loved this movie very much! I just thought the fight scene could of been longer! Something like Ghostface and Gales showdown on Scream 6.
No... it's trash, absolute trash
how the hell u even watched this a 2nd time is beyond me lol....but to actually like it too is unfathomable ..u must have voted for sleepy joe too 🥴

I read Chrstine for the first time this summer and it honestly gave me a new appreciation for Halloween Ends. I never hated the movie to begin with, I actually quite enjoyed parts of it, but reading Christine really cemented my enjoyment
That's awesome. I love Christine so much.
Nice analysis, very objective.
Thank you!
I still want my money back.
Couldn't agree with you more Lee. So many of the complaints I've heard toward the movie I have tried to defend with the same points you pointed out in this video. I loves Ends when I saw it in the theatre but now I love it even more. Kills was my favorite of the new trilogy but I do believe Ends may be my favorite now. I just love the story and the direction, along with the many different themes explored within. Thanks for the awesome content, nothing but respect and love for you dude!
Yeah Kills and Ends are very close for me.
I recently listened to the soundtrack again for my last hour of work, and not only did it make a bad day easier, I continue to appreciate its emotional complexities more with each listen.
Even thinking over the movie makes me appreciate the tone and story DGG wanted to tell, with the nature of evil being ever-present and not merely personified.
That said, I still believe we should have had the skeleton intro to Michael's cave. Oh well, we at least got a movie worth discussing.
Yes the score is so immersive. Listen to it constantly.
You know when you smile and laugh like a maniac because of how good something is, yeah
Grown to really like this movie. You did a great job breaking it down Lee and you can only achieve this after multiple watches. Kind of glad MM and LS are back ground characters and this allowed a tonal shift for the franchise. You can only make so many of these movies before they go stale and face it the GENRE needs different ideas. Glad we got 3 different movies and JC back doing 3 unique scores.
Oh boy did they go in a different direction with Halloween Ends🤦🏿♂️😂
All I ask is to watch the video. I explain a LOT of the common complaints.
This movie gets so much better you realize Corey is a mix of Laurie and Michael
Yep. A lot of hidden meanings.
@@DrumdumsMovieReviews Indeed! Your review actually pointed out a lot I missed. I already liked the movie but you made me enjoy it more.
@@ReignofIndepence Awesome! Thank you so much for watching.
Great review, I love this film my favourite Halloween sequel of them all. The whole theme of Evil was present from the original and carried into DGG trilogy but explored in different ways in all films. Agree this is the best Laurie movie, Jamie Lee Curtis’ best performance and her ending was perfect.
Lee’s w out a doubt the best reviewer on UA-cam. Great job once again my man🤘🏼
Wow thank you so much Mike!
You "are" the true source for Halloween for me, Lee. I've been a subscriber and watcher for years. I am not ever able to attend your live streams, but look forward to the re-watch the next morning. Thanks for the content Bro.
Thank you Willy!
My only major gripe with the movie is that Corey unambiguously dies. I understand wanting to shut the door on this continuity, but it would've been so much more effective if there was some tease that he was alive. Not a tease for a sequel, but show that even though the Evil has found its new vessel, Laurie and Allyson won't live in fear of him. I still think Corey works well as a warning to Haddonfield and the world at large that evil, as Laurie says, just changes shape and can't be permanently extinguished. There will always be a boogeyman. It was Michael Myers once, Corey Cunningham after, and who knows what home evil will find next.
I'd also like to state that I think Laurie was infected by the evil to an extent herself (as was Loomis, according to the novelizations), but was strong enough that it didn't turn her evil. Darkness took hold of her for a long time in some form, but in Ends she has emerged from that battle victorious. I don't have any real concrete evidence for it beyond the shots where she's placed in similar positions to Michael (her watching Allyson from across the street at school, disappearing after Michael throws her off the balcony, appearing behind Michael in the closet), but I see her as the Shape of Good like Michael was the Shape of Evil.
The junkyard theme & all the the themes in the movie just kick-ass.
I'm in the middle of the novelization right now. Holy shit this could have been even better.
I love this movie and warch it 2-3 times a month and still pick up little things. Its also the one movie thats its hard not understand the disappointment fans felt. Its not what i expected and after about 45 minutes i stopped and told my friend " This is not what i thought this would be but im loving the hell out it " Its definitely my 2nd or 3rd favorite in the franchise
This comment makes me happy
It’s my 3rd fav I love the rob Zombie ones
Great review, great arguments made, I agree with you it's such a solid movie.
edit: oh, man, I am so hyped now, can't wait for October to watch Ends again! :D
Thank you Oskar!
I liked the movie, but I also liked it when it was called "Christine" (1983).
I appreciate the thought you put into this. I have watched Halloween Ends a couple of time, and I completely understand everything you said.
The problem is, that just isn’t what I want in a Halloween movie. However, as a book, the Halloween Ends novelization is much MUCH better. You have got to read the Halloween Ends book. The narrative of Halloween Ends makes a much better book than it does a movie.
And I completely understand that Richard. It's definitely a different Halloween movie. Not for everyone.
