I never had curls until after I had my daughter. Sometimes having kids does that, it happened to my aunt as well. I'm not really sure of the science behind it. My hair is NOWHERE near as curly as yours, it's closer to a strong wavy. Sidenote: watching curls growing into your hair is an insane experience lol I had like half curly hair/half straight hair for a while 😅

That can happen if you already have the curly hair gene in your body. Hormonal changes in events such as pregnancy can trigger that gene.

Every seven years the hair structure changes. Not in extremes but it changes. Google it. I got wavy hair, too, when I had straight spaghettis before. 😄

Hi friend! I just discovered your channel. My curly hair seems to just get more and more curly as I go through puberty.. is this normal? As a 15 year old who is on my curly hair care journey and also has to provide for myself when purchasing hair and other beauty/hygiene products I am looking for products that are affordable and will help me achieve healthy curls as they adapt and change. At the moment I find it challenging to care for my hair since it’s very coily at the front and pretty coarse and stubborn on the back/underside on my hair. I would appreciate your product recommendations a lot - I love all of the tips that you share on your channel! Thanks and have a lovely day :)

I hear that Shea Moisture is quite good for hair that's more on the coarse and coily side. And they're very reasonably priced products. Cantu is also another brand I hear mentioned a lot by people with very curly and coily hair and I've seen that they're also more budget friendly. However, I haven't used either brand. Both use a lot of shea and mango butter in them which is too heavy for my waves but that shouldn't be an issue for your hair.
Hormones definitely affect your hair, mine also got more curly in the underlayers when I got a Mirena. It's normal but I've never really been clear on why that happens.

My father always had short hair so never needed to take care of it and my mom always had straight to wavy hair so me having extremely curly hair has been very hard. I get it from my grandma I think because she’s 100 percent Scottish but I’m not sure and she already passed so I won’t be able to ask her. Oh well. I’ve figured it out this far thanks to your channel

Yep, always been wavy to slightly curly and my mother went insane straightening it as it looked like a mess.
After I cut a of it off in a depressed daze it grew up curlier than ever
My lazy routine of scrunching conditioner in, gel and diffuse has saved my hair

So funny. I always said I like humidity cuz my people were from tropical climates (Vietnam). But my hair is stick straight and I swear my hair is even shinier and my skin feels more luxurious in humidity. Maybe curly hair is for dry heat and not humidity? Totally just guessing out of my a$$ now.

I've often wondered where my 2b waves came from. All the people in my imitate family have straight hair and my ancestors mostly came from Britain or Germany. Not sure how I ended up with thick wavy hair. It also explains why it took me 30 years to learn my hair was wavy and the puffy fluffy look I hated so much was caused by brushing my hair like it was straight.

Sorry to disturb I am like you , can I ask what products do you use to keep the curls without the crunchiness as I bought some products and I didn’t like the feel of it 🙏

    • @amandah2866
      @amandah2866 Рік тому

@@ummtaimann6819 It depends on your hair and what you want. A gel that goes crunchy is the only way I can get my wavy hair to stay curly for more than a day. You could use a microfiber towel to scrunch out the crunch so you're not touching it with your hands. If you don't need the strong hold of a gel try a foam or mousse. I use Clever Curl Wonderfoam which doesn't have any crunch but I'm not sure if that is available outside of Australia. Also, some curl creams offer light hold and that's also non-crunchy, you'd just need to see what the brand says about their product.

I had straight hair till I turned 50. My father's side has straight hair, and my mother's side, my grandmother, mother, and sister, whose 10 years younger than me, was born with curly hair. I also have two Boys/Men 34 & 29 my older son had straight hair, but now he's getting very wavy to almost curly hair and is getting mad at me 😅
At the beginning of the summer of 2018, my bangs were starting to curl by spring of 2019 my hair was completely curly, and I had no idea what to do with it???😢 I was freaking out, and that's when I went on UA-cam and watched many curly hair tutorials that I was like I don't have time for this crap doing finger coiling (which I don't do), learning what type of curly I have, what clarifying shampoos, then regular shampoos, conditioners, deep conditioners like masks, leave in conditioner, curl cream, etc. Also, how to prevent frizz, use a diffuser, know when to scrunch, what Detangling Brush and combs I should use...
I'm 55 now, and I dread it each time I wash my hair and then keep refreshing where I can get about a week, depending on the weather and seasons and also we moved to Florida in 2021 from NYC that I lived there all my life and now when highlighting my hair I don't do it as Blonde because the sun will make it more Blonde and I only do subtle highlights where I have mixed highlights and in between my medium brown hair, and then you have to worry about the sun drying out your hair 😢 and you just can't brush out your hair anymore as with straight hair because it's like you stuck your finger in the electrical socket 😂 OMG!!! Curly Hair is a lot of work, and just like in the video, you're moving your head every direction, and I have Vertigo that I'm stumbling and catching myself from falling. I don't have enough strength in my arms because I've been sick for 30 years with Lupus and many other illnesses, and I get tired after all is done, and now my face is full of sweat 😓
However, I use a trick when diffusing... I hold the stem of the blower where the diffuser attaches. At first, I have it set on high heat and set on medium blow until I start to feel it somewhat getting dry and then switch over to medium heat and medium blow. When holding the stem of the hairdryer, it makes a world of difference on your arm and wrist 😊
I Love My Curls When All Is Done ❤ but I do miss my straight hair and getting my Pixie Cuts as it made me look younger, and it was easier to maintain for all I used was good shampoo and conditioner and mousse and drying my hair using a round Boars Head Brush and I didn't get any frizz, just a light hairspray and Voila I was done and didn't have to worry about going to sleep at night and having to do more to my hair to keep the Curls from flattening. I'm getting too old for this Sh*t!!! 😡😪😉😆
