      @LSFord Рік тому +5

      @@c.l.368 yeah I’m well aware of everything you’re saying. And I’ve also been in the same room as several drummers that can make it look easy to avoid that. High level musicians capable of extreme precision do exist. It’s not just proper sticking you can literally SEE the polyrhythms. You can see his hands and they are also perfectly in time and in sync with the audio. There’s no blur or any signs of visual editing whatsoever. The credentials matter here dude. Because my experience makes me more capable of noticing the exact things you’re talking about. You’re right that it’s possible to edit the audio but it’s so easy to see that when you know what it looks like to really do it. This is what that looks like. I’m sure there was some editing in terms of eq and balance bc you have to make the microphones replicate the real world and sometimes that even improves the sound but it doesn’t change the rhythm or accuracy. I’ve listened to some of his live recordings and it’s not the same playing on a stage, but he sounds pretty close to some of those legends you mentioned. They also didn’t sound perfect on stage. But their recorded music sounds basically perfect because In a controlled environment they could play that well. So what you’re saying doesn’t actually prove it’s edited at all you’re actually speaking to my point. those legends and others, even before editing software that allowed for what you’re talking about, were able to make nearly perfect recordings but their live performances were not as good. Just like him.

      On the other hand it all breaks down to one thing, is music a competition for a person or not? We don’t have to perceive eachother as a threat, competition or whatever, just as being different😊. If we look at music as competition almost everything was already achieved but if we look at it as a platform of expression and conveying one’s message it will be a beautiful world where no one loses but everyone wins as we get thousands of musicians focusing on their individual touch in what they create😊

    Holy badger crap, you are a f*****g monster, man!
    Heartbreaking story here: I started taking lessons at 6, was playing club gigs with my dad at 13. Became fascinated by playing in odd time signatures. Billy Cobham/Mahavishnu Orchestra were my inspiration. Well into my 50s I had multiple stress induced TIA strokes that ultimately robbed me of everything that took a lifetime of learning overnight! Can't even play simple groove anymore.
    Had to sell all my drums to move forward. You are an inspiration to many youngsters to be different & be able to do things that practically no other drummers can. Guys you'll get noticed, trust me. 😃

      OK I know mentally and perhaps even physically you are challenged more than most. However with an inexpensive electronic kit you may find the joy of playing you once had. God speed and perhaps you would be surprised at how much "muscle memory " would help get some of what you lost back. I've known amputee,blind,even deaf drummers and while limited drumming was great therapy and brought so much joy and inspiration to them and others.

    Jeez man. This guy. Congratulations on either all the hard work or Just caught the heart and rhythm early as a kid before the world could influence it. And of course both. That ain’t working. That’s the way you do it. Ive played music in my head at least from 3 I can remember. First guitar when I was 8 and all the way up till now…strings primarily. In almost 46 years I’ve never been this inspired to pick up a drum set. What Ive seen you do looks incredibly fun. You keep topping yourself Bongo! Very impressive my man.

    When I was learning drums in high school I was convinced "polyrhythms" were simply drummers who were off beat giving it a name😂 Then I heard Danny Carey, Tomas Haake and others and quickly changed my mind.😊

    I try this on accordion guitar and drums. I have found out that it's best to focus on what you're doing first and let the other arm flail, don't try to focus on anything, just get the arm moving going wherever it wants but keep the focus on the first thing. It starts building synapses towards separation of limbs. Every action in your body is controlled by synapses, synapses instigate the movement.....let a few synapses build while you're flailing and you'll soon see results, plus it might keep you from getting overly anxious.

    These clips are the actual proof that it's not about some innate, or god-given talent. It's about putting in the work. Talent should really be understood as 'passion' or 'love' for something that motivates some people to put in that work.

    This is an easy one to practice poly. The great teacher in the video knows this and is giving all of us drummers in the class some valuable lessons here.
    I really feel that in the years to come because of this guy right here the world will start to find new faster and greater drummers on a larger scale because of his teaching and all his training videos he puts out. It’s free drumming lessons and drum teachers should be worried.

He genuinely lives in his own specific world of unbelievable drumming skills where he genuinely thinks anyone should actually know to do what he's done...😅😂❤. Guys, remember he did this without a blunt between lips, just wait till that's the case. The man is a god among drummers. He's good and I know nothing about drums or drumming.
