      It started when Turner ran all over them in 2005 and broke the Colts’ win streak. Then that weird night game in 2007 where Manning was picked six times, and Vinatieri missed a 29-yd clutch at the end, then this game, then a wild card game one year after this that went into OT, with Sproles winning it for San Diego. After that, Manning went to Denver and had much more success against the Chargers.

    The Colts offense was looking unstoppable until Harrison's fumble. Totally changed the course of the game, unfortunately. Not to mention, the check down to Kenton Keith, who basically gifted San Diego with an interception inside the five on what looked to be a first down, if not touchdown. Those two plays alone killed what could have been a sound victory.

      Both INTs were tipped by the receivers. The one from Wayne we can say it was little overthrown, but the 2nd one it as 100% the RB fault.
      402 yards. 3 TDs.
      The year after that Manning had 310 yards 1TD-0INT against the Chargers and also lost in the playoffs.
      I can't think of better example than Manning playoffs record that shows that perception is not reality.

    • @Kira-zi1qp
      @Kira-zi1qp 8 років тому +3

      renangms okay you're talking about his teammates failing him but what about the entire 2006 playoffs? You know where he threw 3 touchdowns and 7 interceptions the entire post season but still won the super bowl? Why not talk about his teammates saving his ass? Manning is a choker in the playoffs, he doesn't play nearly as well as he does in the regular season and that's fact

    • @renangms
      @renangms 8 років тому +5

      I know about 06. He faced the 3 best defenses in the playoffs in 06. The only QB to do that ever. He came back 18 from behind to beat the Patriots in AFCCG. 32 points in the 2nd half. Talking about clutch, huh?
      Most of his INT were 3rd and long situations. But was his great? No. He got help from his teammates. Finally! His defense was horrible in the regular season and played great in the playoffs. I have no problem admitting that.
      It's people like you that can't admit that his defense was horrible in this game and lost against the Chargers without Rivers and LT.
      People like you keep changing your argument to fit your narrative.
      If his defense was great in regular season, but played like shit in the playoffs, you say that Manning lost with a great D. If his defense was horrible in regular season, but played well in the playoffs, you say that Manning won because of his D.
      If Manning has great numbers but still lost, he choked.
      If Manning has bad numbers but still won, he was carried by his team.
      It's ridiculous. Everyone can see that you're a hater. You can't decide if it's stats or W-L record that matters to you.
      He plays very close to the same level as he does in the regular season. That's a fact.

    • @Kira-zi1qp
      @Kira-zi1qp 8 років тому +2

      renangms I said he was bad in the post season when he won the super bowl which was true. And talking about his defense giving up a 70 yard td but don't act like he played good in that game either. Two kick returns for tds is what gave them the lead not Manning and then he took a knee for overtime instead of going for the win and then went on to throw a pick in overtime to lose the game. Manning has played good and lost and he's also played like shit and lost. His numbers are not nearly as good in the post season as they are in the regular season. Even look at last seasons playoffs when he barely had to do anything to win the super bowl. He played good against New England and I was impressed with some of the dimes he threw but he didn't play good in the super bowl and still won. Manning does not perform as well in the playoffs, if he really played great but his teammates blew it for him all his losses then he would still be in consideration as the best of all time. Obviously he's a great quarterback but he just isn't the same in the playoffs, look at the 2005 playoffs against Pittsburgh. He couldn't do anything all day and he threw what should've been a game ending interception to Troy Polamalu but was incorrectly overturned. He took advantage of a ref mistake and a Bettis fumble but then the kicker missed the field goal for overtime. Blame the kicker for that loss but don't act like manning was playing the same as he was in the regular season that year because he didn't

      Kyle Redding Hi Kyle, what I've posted is what I have, finished editing almost 400 DVDs down from 1983-2014, although on UA-cam I've noticed some older Charger clips, someone has the whole 1982 Steeler playoff game up for example, I noticed on the side listings of my vids, I've spotted some complete older games.

      Okay thank you. It's amazing you have 400 DVDs. Where did you get all of those DVDs or did you make them yourself?

    • @sdtimemachine8084

      Kyle Redding Just recorded all from my TV over 30 years and kept them as a time capsule, was time to downsize and edit them down into vignettes all can enjoy on UA-cam.

      Oh okay, thank you. I was just wondering. Thank you for sharing such wonderful games.

      sdtimemachine Wow. That is really cool actually. I am not a Chargers fan specifically, per se, but there will be some young Charger fans that come along and really appreciate your time capsule that you have put together because it will be games they never got the chance to watch. Or there are of course longtime Charger fans that might enjoy seeing some highlights, or even just football fans in general. Awesome work.

    can't believe the chargers only went 8-8 that year with a very talented and loaded team, the should have won more games and gone even further in the playoffs. seriously the turner hire for coach is terrible, he messed up a loaded roster, he could have easily won a superbowl but failed.

    • @wesf7782
      @wesf7782 8 років тому +1

      They were 11-5 that year, they were 8-8 the following year

      +BossManiacGames yep you've got it, and that 14-2 team would've trounced Indy and Chicago had Marlon McCree not fumbled the football back to the Patriots

      i still can't believe they fired marty schothenheimer after going 14-2 and replaced him with the cruddy norv turner

    • @wesf7782
      @wesf7782 8 років тому +1

      +BossManiacGames right?? Marty helped the Chargers move on from the Ryan Leaf era and did a great job of establishing a winning culture in the locker room. Then he gets fired after going 14-2?? We had multiple players choke in that game, you couldn't just blame it on Marty. Then we turn over the most talented roster in Chargers history to one of the worst head coaches of all-time:P

    It looks like Chambers TD at 7:30 would not be a TD in today's NFL. They simply didn't have the resolution to see definitively that bobble when he hit the ground

    • @Adeon55
      @Adeon55 8 років тому +1

      Didn't have the resolution? Lol, this was 2008, not 1998. HD was already a thing then. Just because this video was uploaded in low res on UA-cam (from what appears to be a VHS recording, based on the wobbly lines at the top) doesn't mean it actually looked like this live on state of the art TVs or replay monitors at the time.

    This is one of the most over looked Colts teams that had a real SB chance and once again, couldn't even win a playoff game. This team was really good yet I don't hear many mention it in the lost seasons for Manning. Last game at the RCA Dome too...

      This was an Achilles Heel for the Colts idk why but Peyton always changed the run game to passes cause Tom Moore the OC of the Colts gave Peyton control of the offense and there's an interview that Tom said he got Mad at Peyton in a game in 2004 that Colts were average 10 yrds carry with Edgerin James and on the goal line Peyton changed the play to a pass and got picked off and lost the game cause if that decision, idk why 3 and 3 why not run and see what Joseph Addai would of done but idk Peyton always wanted to score when they were in that red zone never had a legit RB to help him out well they did but they were always a passing team.
