Agreed. I'm not a fan of the Steelers or the Colts but this is the non Super Bowl playoff game that stands out the most for me from my time watching the NFL.
That 4th quarter was wild and had lots of moments that were unexpected! Troy's INT that shouldn't have been reversed, Jerome's fumble, Ben's tackle, Vanderjagt's miss. Lebeau's scheme really won this game for Pittsburgh though. He had Manning rattled with the unique blitzes
Troy made that INT as surely as Jesse James scored the TD against the Pats. This was such a classic that even watching it again now made me nervous as if the outcome was in doubt!

The Colts had the 2nd ranked offense and 2nd ranked defense this season and lost. Even got bailed out with the Polmalu int taken away and Manning getting gifted the ball back after the fumble. Colts had a lot of choke jobs, but this was the worst.
They were 2nd in points allowed but 11th in yards allowed, so depends on which metric you use, but I prefer yards. Still agree with you, as a colts fan, this year was the one Peyton and the colts should have won and had the team for it, but they completely blew it, and yeah Troy intercepted the ball, complete bs from the refs for the colts.
Let's just ignore Polamalu's interception right? Got called back for no reason other than the refs sucking off Golden Boy Manning as they always did back then? Polamalu makes that play, Betts fumbles doesn't even happen.

That was a hell of a moment when Manning waved the punt team off at his own 35 converted 4th down, then took his team down the field for a TD two plays later. Never saw anything like that before. This game was insane, the Bettis fumble, the Rothlisberger tackle, Steelers stopping Manning and getting the win with the missed FG when it looked like the Colts we're gonna make the comeback, WOW. That was a game right there.
This Colts team was arguably the best Colts team in Manning’s time with Indy. I think had they won this game, they would’ve beaten Denver in the AFC Championship and then beat Seattle in the Super Bowl.

I went to see the Steelers in Pittsburgh (I’m from the Bay Area) this year when they played the Steelers. I learned the word Yinzer. Also hit McFaddens after to celebrate y’all’s win. I’ll say this…Pittsburgh knows how to party.

Depends on how you look at it. His style doesn't lend itself to postseason success. He's like a football equivalent to Mike Tyson or Lennox Lewis...he made his name beating up on weak competition. But the INSTANT somebody hit him back, he looked very mediocre. I'm a lifelong Colt fan...and I can attest, when the hitting started, Manning STOPPED...
Remembering the Steelers radio call Tunch Ilkin prepared reservations for the next round his heart sank on the fumble he thanked God Ben got him and incredibly jacked up again on FG miss. Remade the reservations.

Those steelers were used to play a heavy running game and kept the air game for third downs, the way they were aggressive on first quarter was incredible, they beat colts in their own game too early, the awful call on Polamalu interception made it a closer game
