Better uniforms, better football, better announcers, better NFL on CBS presentation. The mid-2000s is when I got into football and I’ll always be partial to that decade
Not only was the Colts unbeaten start suddenly broken, this would also be the start of the Chargers dominance over the Colts in the Peyton Manning era.
Not surprisingly, your comment doesn't take into account how depleted the Colts were during their Week 10 game in 2007 and the Chargers still _barely_ managed to escape with a win after Vinatieri missed a chip shot. Or the fact that, the following November, the Colts beat them in San Diego. They didn't even play each other during the 2006 or 2009 seasons. Do you even watch the games or do you prefer to let the talking heads on television and radio decide your opinion for you?
@@bubufubu Naw bruh Chargers were mannings cryptonite he said it himself during one of those Monday night games he does with Eli now that he hated playing them.
@@juliog7519 You misspelled "kryptonite" and your statement is nothing more than hyperbole. American Football is a team sport. The QB doesn't play the game by himself. Manning is a talker and an entertainer. However, he's also quite humble and modest. He's much more likely to speak highly of others. Those Chargers teams had great Defense and Special Teams players. All of this aside, the fact remains that the Colts were missing key receivers, they couldn't muster a running game, and Vinatieri choked on a (potentially game winning) chip shot.
The Colts were 13-0 on the season here and the Chargers ended that. The Chargers got their revenge after they lost by a FG against the Colts in OT a year prior in 2004.
A time when US charger fans got to watch the best hardworking players in NFL. Every game Charger players dominated other players . The losses were circumstances of luck for opposing teams when they won vs us chargers back then. But since John and AG Spanos took over Operations, team struggling in EVERY game and opposing players exposed the overall team of their constant examples of not practicing during week. Team has the most miss tackles last few years, holding, fatigue, mental breakdowns, ect.
I was a freshman in high school. I was living in Indiana at the time but I grew up in Cali. So I was cheering for The Chargers. I did it discreetly because it was a Colts watch party. Haha. I’m glad Brees won.
How did the Chargers not win the Superbowl this year?! With that defense? The skill players on offense were incredible! LT, Sproles, Breese, Vincent Jackson, McCardell, Parker, WTF!!!
What are the things that makes the loss more enjoyable is how many accolades I hear about Tony grungy and Patty Cake Manning I have to listen to How Great they are the entire game
They broke the #1 rule. Never trust a man who’s first name doesn’t rhyme with anything. You hire a guy named Norv and you seal your fate. I’ve been trying to find a rhyme for that name since 2007. Still nothing.
@@MrArch21 , yeah that was his and his Indianapolis Colts 1st lost of the 2005 season. PM got his 1st career win against the Chargers. His 1st road win was against the Chargers. I'm a lifelong San Diego Chargers fan (not LA) and was even employed by the team for a decade. Tomlinson is in the HoF but I never considered him a HoF RB. He benefited from a very good yet under heralded OL. He had a fairly quick burst out of the backfield but he never was the kind of back who made something out of nothing. He also avoided contact quite frequently, which was the reason Jim Brown wasn't a big fan of his. He was also injured during a couple of the Chargers most crucial playoff games. Twice while he was with the Chargers he was nearly replaced by another RB...once by Michael Turner and the other by Darren Sproles, even though the team ultimately decided to re-sign Tomlinson. Yes he was popular but to me he lacked the qualities of many other HoF running backs.
Same...Lifelong SD Bolts. We did have a reliable OL during LT's prime but you may be forgetting how good Tomlinson was. He was the best at his position for 5-6 years consecutively. Avoiding contact is a good thing as far as I know. He knew how to take a hit though and how to pop someone in the chin w/ a good stiff arm. Don't tell me you forgot about that move. He never fumbled but you're right about him not being available for some crucial playoff games. You can thank Norv Turner's dumbass for that. Maybe if you don't abuse him for 400 touches in the first 16 games (especially w/ Sproles & Turner) we would've gotten a Super Bowl. Bad ownership and they never fired on all cylinders after they let Marty go (R.I.P. Coach). LT was a HOF player no matter where he would've played. You got spoiled seeing him weekly and normalized his talents which were not normal. Lorenzo Neal blocking for him was a great thing to watch. Ownership robbed SD of a trophy with tearing that team apart piece by piece.
He literally carried the whole offense on his back up until that 05 season. In 2003 he was their top receiver with a 100 catches as well as a 1600 yard back Lol

Hella of a backfield. LT, turner, and sproles.⚡️
With a Pro-Bowl blocking back to lead the way Lorenzo Neal.

Thanks for posting these, brings back some great memories of the San Diego Chargers
One my favorite Chargers games of all time. I miss that 2004-2007 era.
This feels more like real football than the game being played today.
RIP Marty
Rip Vincent Jackson ⚡💙💛 , it's a sad week for Charger fans
Thanks for posting this. I've been looking for the full broadcast game for a while. Nice to at least have a condensed version available for viewing.
Holy god that San Diego team was stacked!
Chargers had a very complete young talented team for a few years.

Great win which should have started a 3 game winning streak to get into the playoffs but the chargers fell short 😭😭😭

Ominous foreshadowing for the Chargers.

Brees, Gates, LT....3 HOFERS on offense. Merriman was a BEAST. How did we not win a Super Bowl?!!
Incompetence with the chargers. That’s why
They actually talked about it last week in the Chargers You Tube channel

Michael the Burner Turner!
2:04 that was an angry tackle lol
I see a quarterback and a referee who are both Louisiana natives and that's Peyton Manning and Terry McAulay.
RCA dome? I was at this game if so!
Wth was up with this crew of defenders always fumbling after intercepting or recovering a fumble?! Goddamn it Wade Philips!

Too bad that Brees guy didn't work out.
San Diego CHARGERS
