I choose in priority less carbon content than the 100%, handle it with extreme care, try to avoid rigged sail in the summer sun for hours, release tension when not in use from one day to another. Carbon has memory soit may happen that an harmless crash or vibration can break it .
The worst part of breaking a mast is it usually rips the sail too.
This is easy to believe at least with camber sails. Pieces of the mast came through the sail and the tension in the sail was intense.
too bad... I had the same problem with a 90 % on a freeride sail, 2 1/2 years old :(
Hope you found a new mast to replace the broken one.
@@CraterSurfer yeah, a gunsails 100 % 😁

The mast was Unifiber 460sdm c80.
Very sad to hear that, not a cheap one was
@@welshshogun6750 It took some time to find a replacement mast to replace the broken.
Don't be surprised if that was Severne mast. It is happening very often.
