~41:00 when they fled into the rock formation, my wife said, "They didn't flee, they found a new salt lick." I had to rewind almost 2 minutes back, I couldn't stop laughing.
Quote “you and Steve have the exact same play style” I have actually never seen Skari and Steve play against each other in any game. I would like to see them play against each other could be interesting.
The baiting undoable charges nonsense feels very gamey and ought to be FAQed. You shouldn't be able to declare illegal charges. If you need a wheel to make the charge that wheel should count when you calculate maximum charge distance.
Yep. If the charge is not possible, it can not be declared. You would have to measure before you declare if it is legal to do so. M+6+swiftstride(3") is declarable. Charges happen at the same time, so a unit that would prevent the charge of another can simply stand in the way and block the other, or trigger a "has to charge" unit that could not before.
@guyincognito959 I can't tell if we agree. When a unit blocking a legal charge from a frenzied unit declares a charge that could move it far enough that it would no longer block the frenzied unit's charge, the frenzied unit must declare a charge at that time.
@@wakankinyan correct afaict. However some of the charges declared in this game were within range measured in a straight line not factoring in wheeling, making them impossible
Thank you, I posted exactly the same complaint. The way they played it feels terribly wrong and would make all units with frenzy totally unplayable. You could bait their charges all game without risking a flee or a high roll and being charged.
question: around min 31 you say that frenzied gorgons must charge.. but immediately declare it a fail charge without rolling it, because they must wheel before charging and that makes it impossible for them to reach. Isn't that pointless/broken? Should they not be considered out of charge range, because they must wheel in order to make b2b contact, and therefore not be eligible to charge and be able to move freely? For me it sounds very dumb that "they must charge because they are within charge range but they fail automatically because they can't reach because of the wheel" I would personally play it so you are not eligible to charge if the wheel makes you unable to reach even if you're within range "in a straight line", whatever the rules say. As I said, this seems counter-intuitive, and above all, extremely exploitable. You can just stand there at max range but making them wheel and keep and keep causing frenzied units to fail charges? ... or am I missing something?
"IF a unit that includes one or more Frenized models IS ABLE to declare a charge during the Declare Charges & Charge Reactions sub-phase of it's turn, it must do so." Direct quote from the Frenzy rule. You can't declare an impossible charge. So the very first movement of the first Ghorgon SHOULD have been a normal 7 inch move, but instead he rolled a failed charge roll and only moved 4 inches, which makes no sense. If Ghorgon moved like that, then why would it have Movement of 7 in it's profile? If you want to lure the Ghorgon out of place you can do that by bringing a unit to it's charging range and hope that the beastman player doesn't get a 6 or then just use some cheap fodder for it, not by having one guy on the other end of the board move one inch and "force a Ghorgon towards the closest unit". That's just bs.
@@Hepsutin yep, either put a unit at the max charge distance and risk the 6 or just flee as a reaction. Both those are fine. But these “automatic fails “ that they did make zero sense to me. I wish they would explain what happened
Cohorts are 50/50 Skeleton Warriors and Skeleton Archers. Additionaly, they get the rule "Volley fire" always. Volley fire allows ranks after the first to shoot too, but only half of the models in a rank (rounded up) can do so. Skari's cohorts are 24 strong, 6 broad and 4 deep. So there are 2 ranks of 6 warriors and 2 ranks of 6 bowskeletons. Each rank of bowskeletons gets to shoot with half as many models, so 3 shots per rank. He has 2 ranks of 3 shots, so 6 shots per unit.
If u had the cohorts in 5x4 instead of 10x2 you would get more shots. volley fire allows half of each rank to fire so in this case you would only get 5 shots. 5 per rank would be 3 shots a rank, so you would get 6 shots. same it true for larger units as well.
I dont watch every battle report. But one without? No worries. Can be fun. The channel isnt geared towards opitmal tournamentlists. Its more for fun and interesting fights. And slanten lists can be just that

According to the rules you are not able to. There is a paragraph that specifically prevents this, so they played it wrong

Over and Over again
I am enamored with your guys' terrain! ITS GLORIOUS !
My will be done increases characteristics only up to 10, so no movement 11 chariots or Fly 12 dragon king for that matter.

HI Guys, thanks for another fun battle report. Where can I get the movement trays you guys have used here please?
Cheers!
you still pay for wheels on failed charges ....
Steve is always on left, Luka is always on right. I see nothing different new.
Characters can move through ranks. BRB page 208
i believe the discussion was about "making way" page 208 is irrelevant to that discussion.
