The question? What do they do all year beyond spawn? You never see or hear of people catching burbs outside of ice season, yet they are big fish. What are they eating!
They eat mostly other fish such as small yellow perch and walleyes, but also consume fish eggs, clams, crayfish, mayfly larvae and other aquatic insects.
total predatory bottom feeders like catfish, you can catch em open water just gotta go deep same as pre spawn ice fish dark or super deep
