  • In this adventure I run 18 miles to find some Colorado Greenback Cutthroat Trout (hybrids) in two different lakes. I wasn't sure what I was going to find on this day but wound up having some incredible fishing, a very special moment with a moose, and some incredible views.
Thanks for watching and let me know if you like these fishing adventures

You should fish the inlet next time you are at that lake and I also got skunked at the upper lake. I am a fellow trail run fisher as well and love to see this kind of content.

Good to know and I did actually stop briefly and without seeing much activity in a couple of min decided to move on. Next time I will for sure spend a bit more time there and would love to go back and explore a bit more.
I'm also glad to hear that other people are out there trail run fishing and thanks for watching!

I love these vids and would like to do similar things here in Japan. trout and Ayu are the best river fish!
I stick to MTBing and snorkeling though. Major respect for spending the time to edit and upload.

Great video, Jake. I am about to do an alpine trip myself. What camera's are you using? Great quality!

Thank you and my main camera is a Sony A6400 paired with a 18-135mm lens and all the first person footage is using a GoPro HERO10.
      Have a great trip !

Sweet! Beautiful fish! I’d like to try my hand at tenkara fishing. Not sure if you know what it is but I follow a channel called Tiny Tenkara Rod, great alternative for fishing while hiking. By the way, I ordered my 2024 wilderness! Can’t wait to put it to good use! 😂

I don't have a tenkara setup but want one for those hikes where fishing is more of a second priority and I don't expect to need to cast far. This past weekend I did a hike where I passed 3 lakes with so many fish cruising the banks and was wishing I had a tenkara rig so think I'll need one soon.
Congrats on the car and enjoy it

Very beautiful. I've considered Tenkara fly fishing myself. That setup is more compact and lightweight, but I'm a total newb fisherman.
    Thanks for sharing!

I never never fished one but love the idea of tenkara and plan on getting a setup. For these more fishing focused trips I'll probably always have a normal rod in case there is a big fish just out of reach haha
