New Super Mario World 1: The Twelve Magic Orbs Powered-Up is a remake of Pink Gold Peach's first released hack, New Super Mario World 1: The Twelve Magic Orbs. Notable changes from the original are the inclusion of 16 new power-ups, Luigi being playable in single-player mode as well as an inclusion of a hard mode. The story consists of Bowser stealing the twelve magic orbs, each wielding a different elemental power, and handing them to Bowser's minions in order to cause havoc. It is up to Mario and Luigi to stop Bowser and retrieve all of the orbs.
Suru486 ( tasvideos.org/... ) completes the hack on Hard mode, attaining 100% completion. This consists of getting all 112 exits as well as collecting every single star coin.

One of the most ambitious SMW hacks of all time. It’s a lot longer than the original, and actually adds a ton of new features that were never thought to be possible on the SNES.
Wonder how the creators are doing now. They must be proud people are still playing their hack.

Great TAS! I love seeing SMW hacks that aren't Kaizo-tier. No shade to Kaizo, but they just aren't as fun to me
Agreed. Romhacks like this make me feel joy so much. A shame that most roms are kaizo

The only downside to this rom hack is its overreliance on vanilla sprites and music packs. It make the hack have less of its own identity
