  • In this video we start on my long awaited ( for me ) rebuild of my One Tonner I have used as a workhorse for many many years.
    In my head I’ve had this build plans out for a long time, after you watch the video you’ll see I plan to leave no stone unturned with hope that by the end of this, this car will be more or less a brand new Holden One Tonner that will live out the rest of its life with me doing what it was designed for and what it has done for most of its life so far.

    A T5 manual behind the little 253 would make for a nice driver. Also, those 253s are gas misers so it'd be cheap as chips to run.
    Just saying that wild gets old when used as your daily, it's not really necessary.

      Hopefully there’s one sooner rather than later. I had another car that I was doing that was taking priority over this one. That one’s almost finished so I might be able to get stuck back into this.

    should check out muscle car parts, they have just brought out a full frontal floor pan for hq-wb. where abouts do you guys buy your drip rail gutters?

    • @V8JakeC
      @V8JakeC  Рік тому +2

      The intention with this build is to use that full front floorpan. That’s why I’ve placed one of the bracing just above the trans tunnel so I have reference when putting the new floorpan in, I speak on this in the video. The original floorpan will be removed once the car is on the rotisserie.
      Drip rails there’s a person on Facebook who sell them by the length. Don’t quote me on a name though.

      Mostly self taught. My brother is “The Resto Shed” and he has helped me progress with my panel beating in the more recent years.

    Wow what an interesting
    video , l heard your plans think you just need to cut the rust out
    & patch like you said
    but remove the roof
    not sure about that
    but it's your call ?
    This is how I would do
    it clean out the shed
    get some etched primer
    Blast the #### out of it
    Etched it in paint then cut out the rust, patch
    it paint it put it back
    together, run it for
    another 50 year's
    🙄😮😮😮😮😮😮😁

    • @V8JakeC
      @V8JakeC  4 місяці тому

      I find multiple flaws in your suggested method, and I very much doubt it would last “50 years” with scabbed in patches. I’ll stick with opening up every cavity and making sure it’s as clean as can be instead of living in denial 👍🏻

    • @charlesallanstewart-kl2op
      @charlesallanstewart-kl2op 4 місяці тому

      @@V8JakeC yeah I agree
      your method is flawed too
      & it won't last 50 , but my
      way done proper would,
      We both have different
      views , so let's agree
      to disagree 🙄🙄🙄🙄

      @@V8JakeC wow someone has got the " hump huh brah"
      l told you the way l would do
      it , totally different to yours
      a full restored ute , it a
      Icon brand , but you mate
      don't get that & throw a
      Hissy fit man , sadly l don't
      have a ute because you lot
      out in the bush have been
      holding on to them , so
      take a chill pill country
      boy & move on ! 🙄
