For those wondering, during the snowball fight in 5-1, you need GODLIKE TIMING to throw a fastball like that. Press the throw button as you're about to touch the ground
For anyone wondering, the version played here is the Japanese one, and you’ll notice this for multiple reasons: 1.) The faster input times, especially when at the menu screen. Speaking of, 2.) The menu screen has “The Shooting Star,” which is not available in any other version. 3.) Ristar generally smiles instead of being super serious. 4.) The designs of the owls in Planet Flora don’t look super angry. 5.) Enemy designs in generally-speaking senses are pretty different. And of course, 6.) Boss designs, more specifically with Itamor Lunch, are especially different. 7.) You’ll also notice a different ending when compared to other versions, that being Greedy kneeling in defeat. And finally, 8.) Because of the faster inputs & less load times, as mentioned in the first point, the game allows players to move faster, which allows speedrunners to move faster as a result.
You forgot one: The US version has a skiing cutscene at the beginning of Round 5-1 that's completely absent in the Japanese version. I think this difference is a major time save because that cutscene takes upwards of 10 seconds.
I can boost through this game pretty decently, but that Final Boss kill that you did was insane. It’s probably just a matter of getting his hitbox down. Lol.
On 5-1 after the bonus stage why not go right and go over the top of the snowball guy? You can jump over him from on top of the wall, would it not be a little faster or has this been timed?

This game deserves a sequel. I love this game 😊
Or a 3D sequel. Could you imagine a Mario 64 like Ristar game?
@@caseyw1286 that would be kinda goofy and interesting at the same time
@@caseyw1286marvelous.
What an incredible run!
I could rarely ever get past Awaueck and you make it seem so damn easy.
What a great run
