Hoosier Track Attack Pro | In-Depth Performance Review
Вставка
- Опубліковано 12 жов 2024
- An in-depth review of the performance expected from Hoosiers latest offering: Track Attack Pro. This is a 200 treadwear tire that is designed for the track. Felix goes over the in car performance and compares lap data between the Hoosier Track Attack Pro and Continental Extreme Contact Force.
Great comparison! 2.8 seconds is a big difference and worth the extra $ if it's a competition for sure. If it is something you may consider, comparing other popular 200 treadwear tires such as Nankang CRS, Yokohama A052, RE-71RS, for 1 hot lap plus multiple laps. Keep up the great work!
Great comparison for sure. I just wish it was against the RE71RS or the CRS.

Thank you!
Working on what car would be good for this comparison as we would like to test tire size for tire size. Obviously some of these manufacturers like Yoko make very limited sizes for our 19inch wheels so comparing is kind of tough. The GT4 may be the platform.
@@milkforcoffee
We are working on it!
@@sagamotorsports You will dictate my next season ;)
Thanks for the first test! Looking forward to trying these out myself, when more of the 20” options are released. I’m happy to hear about the solid sidewall as that’s one of my only complaints about the Yokohama A052’s I’ve been running.
Solid driving, too!
Continental lap time of *2;23.66* vs Hoosier lap time of *2;20.84*

Just FYI the Benchmark at COTA is about a 2.20. This is the reason we were so impressed by the tire as it was close to going sub 20 in a end of day session with 95* weather.
What pressures are you staring off on and what is your hot pressure?
After tyre reviews, awesome to see another proper driver reviewing tires. Especially in a 992 GT3 at COTA.
I'd love to know how it grips against the A052 and Bridgestone RE-71RS, both of which are generally heat-cycle limited.
Yes same here… for anyone that knows, please comment!
In my experience, the RE71RS appears to be really quick down to the cords. In fact, GRM found they were significantly faster at lower tread depths (thus at least a few heat cycles).
Same I wonder if they "turn on" quickly enough for autox
@@chrisnolke
We are working to find the correct car to do this comparison with, I would also throw the Nankangs in there for the comparison.
The problem is we want to test tire size for tire size and some of these tires do not have too many size options.
@@joshuagorman7856
It seems they should do well in AutoX format, they felt great off the rip at COTA.
Nice driving and comparison! I'm waiting for these hoosiers in my sizes to be available to compare against the CRS v2 that I currently run. Interested in how many sessions you can get out of them at COTA with similar grip levels, maybe 10-15? How many sessions do you get on a set of R7s' on the .2 3RS?
Wish you guys would run this test on a more common track enthusiast car like miatas, gr86, supra etc. Going to a Porsche isn't as helpful to many, see very few 911's being put to this usage unless they are a race team, w2w or some rich guy experimenting on his brand new purchase driving at half speed 😂
Lol rant over, but still cool you guys made your overall impression on it. Excited for others to review.
@@just.a.simplejoe
It is great you are commenting this, we are actually in conversation with TRD to maybe acquire a GR86 cup. That car would simply be a blast, and would be great for things like this.
Thanks for taking the time to watch the video, we were truly impressed with the tire. Now we can go ahead and watch everyone else’s reviews as we had been staying away from all to simply provide an unbiased opinion on them.
@sagamotorsports exactly what we need, I'm so glad groups like yourself are thinking ahead and how to open up test/ reviews with more common platforms. Great video for sure, lots of detail and on track experience is obviously a plus. Hope more good things come down the line for you all.
good job on the video 😊

Thank you!
How about doing 5 flying laps on each, and then average them?
How do you think CUP2s would fit in with this duo?
@@johnulmerRacing
This is actually a great idea, but would be tough to do in a HPDE.
Maybe we come up to ECR or MSRC and make this happen on a members day?
As of now these seem quicker than the Cup2s.
The cup 2 is a great balance of longevity and performance, its honestly the benchmark for all other tires.
@@sagamotorsports we could definitely do this at MSR on a member day.
Maybe the CUP 2 R would match up better? Or is that a 160 tw?
I wish it was 7/32nds deep so that it was SCCA eligible.
I'm sure hoosier will pay them off 🙄
@@chrisnolke
I did not measure them new, will do so next time. Do you know how much depth these Track Attack Pro tires have?
@@sagamotorsports they claim 5/32. It makes sense if they hear cycle out before 5/32 is done… but it doesnt meet SCCA’s ask for AutoX or Time Attack. Why be “200 TW”?
@@chrisnolke should they want it for scca I assume all it’s gonna take is time. 1 year for rule changes it seems to be the standard.
Not really a useful comparison the Contis are super slow as they're endurance tires, like way different ballpark than the top 200tw time trial/autox tires. The fact that they're both 200tw doesn't hold much weight. The Hooisers are supposed to top all the current best 200tw in all out pace. You need to compare these to the A052s
@@JNatella
Completely agree, the comparison was simply made as they both have that 200 on the sidewall but as we have said before, treadwear numbers seem to be unregulated.
It would be great to do this same comparison to the A052 and the CR-Sv2 as those are amazing tires. The problem is most of the Porsches in the fleet take a rear that is wider than 300mm and the A052 isn’t available in those sizes. The CR-S at this moment is starting to come back to stock so may do a comparison to that soon.
@@sagamotorsports not just that but how do they feel? How do they handle heat, longer term do they heat cycle out or chord first?
Essentially Is this tire a competitor with a cup 2r
An autox/TT super soft cheater tire like an A052
Or is it an r7 with more grooves in it
1x. Invalid lap.
