Would still like to confirm with a Porsche engineer but are pretty sure the lack of Straightline speed from the GT2RS was due to heat soak and extremely high Intake Air Temps. The car had been out of distilled water for multiple laps and was probably trying to keep the engine safe limiting HP output. Makes us look forward to its next outing!
Definitely. I have a 992 GT3 and a GT2RS…same exact segment the GT3 hits 160 where the 2RS hits 180. Absolutely no way you’re making full power without the spray.

let us know when you are out at COTA, and we will keep you in the loop if we visit ECR or MSRC. The October Date at ECR with CHIN is looking very likely.
I like how you have actual great insights of the nuances between the cars… as in how weather affects the two cars, and what you mentioned about where the weight is in the 2RS
Those Hankooks definitely bring the GT2RS to life even with all the weight.

Cool video. Like the new angle with the SAGA logo more visible. Surprised the GT3RS didn't make up that much time in the corners. It certainly sounds amazing.
It seems it made up some through the esses but there are not enough aero corners in the back section of COTA where the car could claw back at the GT2. Then again, the GT2 was on Hankook Slicks and many driving mistakes were made in the 3RS! Make us look forward to the next outing in the 3RS with Hankooks!
If those are the F200 Hankooks, they are more than a second per lap faster than the Hoosiers.

New plan, make sure GT2RS has enough distilled water, and put Hankooks on GT3RS!
