Wow! The original bearded version was friggin awesome (serious 13th Warrior film vibes) but the native American head makes so much more sense. What really sealed the deal for me though was the addition of the dream catcher. Holy crap that was the lynchpin and suddenly the whole model just CLICKED!

Space Bears are becoming my favorite chapter more and more. I can’t wait to find out more more on them and unique units they will have. Freaking native american space marines are awesome

I love the head switch but I weirdly miss the beard, I think it sold his age whereas the clean shaven look makes him bit too young for a papa bear. Still looks good, just voicing my shoddy opinion. Though the dreamcatcher detail being made from an Iron Halo is amazing detail (Perhaps he believes making it out of a shield generator will grant him further protection agaimst the warp?)
This is 100% correct, before the chapter master had story behind him, the look of history but now he just looks like some generic indian guy. Kinda sad that Jazza strayed away from his initial process of aesthetic into lore, not the other way around.
@@lickmynuts82 how does having a beard give him more of a story? And what's the difference between a generic native American guy and a generic Nordic guy?
@@jerryligairi1078 you ever played GoW4? Hell, have you seen any promo images of the game? Giving Kratos a beard did so much for his character, not just for aesthetics but for character growth. Now we see a clean shaven, no battlescars generic indian leading it, such lost potential for storytelling.
@@lickmynuts82 Kratos was in a Nordic setting in GoW4 wasn't he? You can literally google images of battle hardened Native Americans = NO BEARD. Scars can be added using a heated piece of metal. Jazza you bloody legend! I had some of the same concerns of representation and I am so happy that you took those comments seriously, and man it clearly payed off in the creative process. You're an inspiration!
Honestly, huge props for not only making the change, but listening to/being open with a commonly ignored criticism of fantasy. I’ve seen so many people halfass using one or two aspects of a culture and then completely forgetting about it, it’s refreshing to see some do it correctly. Also it looks fantastic and the iron halo dream catcher is a perfect mashup.
great model for sure, can't wait to see the rest of this sweet army! I still say that a space wolves venerable dreadnought would be a perfect fit for this chapter, as hibernation is what dreadnoughts do all the time anyways! Plus the space wolves venerable dread gets unique weapons, like an axe and shield or frost claws! It would be perfect for converting while still having rules to use for it!
9:11 I had no idea that there was a story behind those amazing sculpts ! 8)) I just bought the STLs recently, reduced them to 90% scale (they are made for space marines after all) and started to create a team of natives snipers for my imperial guard's legion !

This is one of the main reasons I keep coming back to this channel! It's so inspiring. Made my own custom Death Guard after the first Space Bears video.
I hate it when people take things from this world into my hobby space. But thats just me and my hobby space and how you handeld it comes over as you like the chance so thats good. Looks great man
Amazing to watch your process and how it ended up! I can’t wait to see how you tackle a custom dreadnought sculpt 👀 I feel like hibernating dreads would be perfect for this chapter 😜
God damn Jazza you always go above and beyond with these videos, fantastic work
Congratulations on your concept. Really well done, well researched. A great way to appreciate Native American culture. Well done.
Your dedication and drive to not only include but celebrate cultures is so wonderful to see, and makes me have faith in humanity for once
Thank you so much for not just glossing over the Native American detail with the looks. I live in an area with a huge native population, and I love seeing these people getting the love they deserve.
Your tweaks made it much more original and better. It's not just a Space Woof-variant now, but something new and distinct. Great work!
THIS.
The attention to detail, not only in the art, but also in the real-world inspiration, is why Jazza is my favourite youtube artist.
Big love to you and the rest of the Tabletop Time crew going forward
Wow! The original bearded version was friggin awesome (serious 13th Warrior film vibes) but the native American head makes so much more sense. What really sealed the deal for me though was the addition of the dream catcher. Holy crap that was the lynchpin and suddenly the whole model just CLICKED!
Never has a mini given me a nerdgasm as intense as this one. Inspiring stuff. Can't wait to see him painted.
Gosh I have no idea where to start with a chapter master but heck this is just so much fun thinking about custom chapters lol
This went from "nice' to 'jawdroppingly amazingly' really really fast 😍😍😍
Your Astra Primaursa chapter the TTT gang all done a wonderful work with the minis from the Leviathan box set and I think I can say for your fans out there we all look forward to the day when you feel ready to paint him and we Chapter Master Oosan Ursa leading his chapter to glory and honour.
This is so great, I love watching the development of this chapter!!! 💪
Bravo on getting so much research and advice on the Astra Primursa culture influences. Being able to do that rather than staying in the "comfort zone" of fantasy archetypes makes their story that much more impressive, compelling, and respectful to their inspiration. You should be proud of what you're creating :)
(Also the sculpts are just insanely badass haha, keep it up!)
The mini was awesome before, but the new head and dreamcatcher make this mini more thematic and distinctive. Kudos!
Space Bears are becoming my favorite chapter more and more. I can’t wait to find out more more on them and unique units they will have. Freaking native american space marines are awesome
The Dreamcatcher is also so much more unique than an animal skull. Think of the freehand challenges you can set yourself with the silhouette of a dream catcher!
I was surprised at how improved these look compared to the previous version! The care and consideration add a new life to the chapter master! He looks so much cooler!
I could watch this a million times the layout down to the detail of this video if phenomenal and I love the space bears and thank you jazz’s for inspiring everyone who watches your videos and if you ever read this comment thank you
I love the head switch but I weirdly miss the beard, I think it sold his age whereas the clean shaven look makes him bit too young for a papa bear.
Well all he needs is wrinkles and white hair right?
@@lickmynuts82 how does having a beard give him more of a story? And what's the difference between a generic native American guy and a generic Nordic guy?
@@jerryligairi1078 you ever played GoW4? Hell, have you seen any promo images of the game? Giving Kratos a beard did so much for his character, not just for aesthetics but for character growth. Before Hazza had an idea for a character that has gone through hardships, battled the elements, overcome tragedies to stand at the top of their chapter.
The model is literally made of plastic. Wrinkles and scars don't tell enough of a story for you without a beard? 2 words for you....Marneus Calgar.
Jazza, this is just flat out amazing!! Absolutely amazing!!
I really appreciate how much effort you put in to handle your usage of Native American inspirations with care, it's nice to see. Great work Jazza!
I got chills when you added the dream catcher. You killed it Jazza!!! Excellent work!
Amazing work! I love the turn you've taken with this video and this makes the chapter a lot more distinct from the space wolves too, which is a nice boon.
This is amazing! Thank you for all the respect and effort you put into your work!
My God-Emperor that iron halo/dream catcher was such a good idea, the way it fits the narrative of being a protection from the warp is sooo nice, i think i speak for a lot of people when i say i can BEARLY wait to see him painted in his full Glory, beating fools to death with those Claws
Holy cow!! The Last Light Creative green stuff addition to your figure is SO beautiful and dynamic and detailed!
Jazza you bloody legend! I had some of the same concerns of representation and I am so happy that you took those comments seriously, and man it clearly payed off in the creative process. You're an inspiration!
Props to making the little changes that made the concept actually work!
Hoooooly shit. This is the good stuff for sure. I really hope we get a video of you painting Usun up!
9:11 I had no idea that there was a story behind those amazing sculpts ! 8))
I just bought the STLs recently, reduced them to 90% scale (they are made for space marines after all) and started to create a team of natives snipers for my imperial guard's legion !
Looks fucking great, looking forward to see this all painted up.
Seeing someone so happy and giddy about their little plastic soldierman is the cutest thing ever. I love this community.
Okay, that change to your big boy has taken him from "Space Wolves, but Bears!" to something REALLY unique. Well done!
looks good. did not really see the need for the changes but if that is what you feel you needed to do i can respect it, Still looks really good either way
This model is awesome! And Bears are one of my favorite animals so now I'm tempted to do something similar!
A little late to the party, but I am really really impressed. It is a very unique thing in our hobby to take your time with sensible subjects and ACT on them. You're an inspiring example. Thanks
Cant wait to hear of Oosan Ursa. This hit being wind clan creek and black foot cree on moms side of the trees. It's always wonderful to see more anishinaabe representations especially done with care and research. Thank you.
The sculpting work LastLight did was amazing. At the same time, I am so thrilled that you and Puppetswar took the time to create some native-looking faces for the Bears. Even though I miss the beard, I adore the way the chapter master came out. I love his new name too. Another comment on this video said that the Space Bears feel more real and complete than most official chapters and I second that comment.
I think this must be my favourite video of yours to date. The time you spent to research this in the correct way and to ensure the finished product was perfect for your own vision without offending any culture or race is highly commendable. Hats off to you, sir. I haven't played 40K in years, but I'm so tempted to collect a small sleuth/pack of bears. And as there are many species of bear in the world, options are extensive. Keep up the great work, and thank you for all the content.
Looks great. As a Native person, I appreciate the effort. As a hobbyist, I appreciate the sculpt.
