Exactly what I have on my 2015 TRD Offroad. I run40 psi and have 28000 on them with 50% tread left. I experimented from 32psi to 45 psi and found that 40 worked the best. Not a Cadillac ride but much better performance on the road. Definitely need to air down Offroad or might beat you up bad. Raised the effective gearing from 3:73 to about 3:60
No question about it. Those tires look WAAAY better than the stock lil dingy Goodyear Kevlar ones that come with the PRO now. I have a black 2015 TRD Pro with these same tires on them, and really like the raised white lettering on mine. Yours go good with the white - I would not change them out unless performance issues dictate otherwise. Looks sweet! If I could get an '18, which I still might, I would still have to upgrade the tires on it. And not being too mechanically inclined does not really help me out either. Great video!
I like the white lettering on these tires, looks sharp, they are good but ultimately I went with Falken Wildpeak A/T3W's as the reviews were much better and the wet weather handling was better as I live in a wetter climate.
That's why I get the tires and take them to the Mexican tire shop, so I don't go running around lol I have 3's on my Tacoma and going down to 265s in a couple of weeks. This video had me convinced.
Braden, you should have went to an actual tire shop. Costco is for groceries, trampolines and shit, not truck stuff. Truck looks great, either way, but find a good tire shop that wants your business...
That's great! I couldn't find a video comparing the two sizes of tires. I have a 2017 trd off Rd, so that was great it was another Tacoma. Thanks for the video.
This is the exact tire and size I just put on my 2020 TRD pro. It’s going out for it’s maiden voyage off road on Tuesday. I had 21k miles on my factory tires. The tires are definitely stiffer.
@@jorgeortiz7612 the factory calls for 30 psi. Which is good for off road. When I first got them installed, the tire guys set it at 40. You can tell the difference.
I have met two guys who got a Pro for looks. They did not go off road. They were both very sorry for buying them and traded them for the Sport model. The Sport is SO much smoother and quieter on the road. The Pro is for people who love going off road.
Quieter yes because the Pro come with a louder free flowing exhaust but smoother than a Pro no way. Fox suspension on the Pro is smoother on road and off compared to lower model Tacomas.
For everyone asking about gas mileage; on my 4runner I switched from the stock tires to 10 ply, all terrain, P 265/70s, same size tires, different treads. I lost 1.5 gpm. The difference in the tires weight, 10 ply vs 4 ply and tread pattern made the difference. If you change from 70 to 75, not sure what the difference would be but I'm guessing it will be noticeable.
I’ve been looking to put these on my Tacoma, looks good. You got lucky with Costco not scratching your wheels. They thoroughly scratched the wheels on my wife’s Corolla. Both the wheel rim and the area around the lug nuts got trashed.
Perfect! Nice looking Taco with those wheels and tires, it looks clean. I wouldn't do anything else, just a leveling kit maybe. I paid 950 for a set of four trd pro wheels just like yours, I know how it feels getting them scratched lol.
I took my Tacoma to the local tire plus and had the tires installed plus alignment since I also put a lift kit with no problems. I wouldn’t take my truck to Costco anyway
I have 2017 TRD Pro, like yours, white (wanted cement first choice). Did not pay premium to dealership. Also switched to same tires (285's tried and rubbed). I have additional 1 and half inch lift and 1 and quarter inch spracers. All done by Toyota dealer and at limits for full warranty coverage. Added Diamondback bed cover, RCI rock sliders and hidden Warn winch. I am happy with it all. I am not into rock climbing, but live in mountainous area with uneven gravel/dirt roads/ditches. I have paved drive up to house 1600 ft, two switchbacks, couple of 20% inclines. Tires have performed very well with snow, some ice (did without studded tires last winter). I don't find the K02's especially stiff or noisy.
fiftyfishbottom hey man I’m looking to do the same lift and tire set up for my truck , also 17 pro, did you only use spacers for the lift and if so what kind
Finally! A vid showcasing 265/75 R16 with a trd pro! Too bad we couldn't get some photos instead of the camera and host RACING AROUND THE FREAKING TRUCK AND BLABBERING ON LIKE HE'S TAKING SNIPER FIRE IN SOMALIA??! WTF..
have you tried to run the tires at 30psi to see if they ride softer? I think the door sticker on my 21 TRD PRO says 30. So 265/75/16s do fit no modifications on trd pros.
Just replaced my KO2 265/75/16 with new BFG KO2s 235/85/16 (32s) pizza cutters, same diameter and 1.2 inches narrower. What a difference, Tracks and brakes better and gets better traction in the mud (knifes threw it) and in the loose stuff because there are more pounds per square inch of pressure on the footprint of the tire. I don’t expect them to be better in deep sand or deep snow. But should do better in less than a foot of snow. It’s all about physics. Running 40 psi on the highway. Should get better mileage too as there is less rolling resistance.
bigoneish that may be true with a heavier truck like a full size or even a Tacoma or 4Runner all decked out and hitting the scales at 5500 plus pounds. That’s where physics comes in. Having had both wide and narrow on my 99 4Runner mostly stock. With the exception of suspension upgrade it performed much better with narrow tires. Even my old 59 Willy’s 4x4 wagon ran 700/16 mud tires and was unstoppable. Of course it’s all about personal preference and I admit narrow tires aren’t very impressive at the mall but I’m more of function first. I even notice at the local Toyota dealer they have a new 2019 lifted decked out Tacoma TRD Offroad on the showroom floor with 245/85/17 BFG KM3s on it. The discussion of tire size will certainly continue into the future as there is money to be made selling tires and accessories for our rigs. Thanks for contributing your input.
Great looking tires. I have a 2015 TRD SPORT long bed. Been on factory Dunlop forever. Planning to finally change to these KO2. Now white letters out. Or black side ?? Decisions decisions.
Just ordered the same tires/size any issues? I was little worried with going with 275's over the 270s. The 275s were $60-$70 a tire cheaper and instock so we will see.
Confused between the 265/70/16 and the 265/75/16 for Isuzu d max with 2 inches lift Currently using the 265/70/16 Yokohama geolander at... More inclined for the 265/75/16 as for the height and the looks.... Not sure about how will 265/75 perform on road and Tarmac and will the comfort level be sacrificed?
This truck is so beautiful! The trd pro decals are expensive but imo they make the truck look wayyyyyy better. Some decals are just too much and tacky but toyota did it perfect with the tacoma decals.
How do you like the raised white letters as of today’s date? Been thinking about getting raised white on my quicksand but think it may look a little odd. Beautiful truck! Know I’m late to the channel.
Braden, I just bought a 2020 TRD Pro in white. Wondering if you had any issues with rubbing when turning or when turning while the front end was under load? Thanks
Get some wheel spacers for your tires if you want them to stick out a little more. I have a '18 Taco pro as well. What size fit our stock wheels? I didn't hear it clear.
Looks great and I like the white letters with black rims. I've been researching upgrading my tires and your vid sealed the deal. Thanks. Please invest the money you saved from using Costco to buy a wind screen for your mic. I almost stopped the video because of the wind noise at the beginning. Glad I didnt.
I have a 2018 white TRD Pro and am looking for new tires as we speak. From what I can tell the 265 75 16 KO2 only come in the E Load (10 ply) so wanted to check in on how your experience was.. You read all sorts of opinions on mileage and harshness of ride but thought i would just ask. I was also thinking about doing the white letters out but just worried it will only look good when super clean. Would only consider because of the white truck....Look forward to hearing!
The E load is a bit more harsh than the stock tires but you quickly get used to it. As for the white letters out, they still look nice even after almost two years. Just use a degreaser/APC on them with a tuf shine tire brush every now and then. Thanks for watching!
I myself prefer the Raised White Letter to be seen. The letters really help break up all that boring black wall. I hope you stay with the letters showing, it makes your truck stand out in a much more appealing look.
They gave me some ideals for my Toyota Tacoma 2020. Just like you I don’t want to do no chopping. But the white lettering really looks nice with your Toyota Tacoma because it is black and white.
Truck looks sweet! I'm planning on white letters out on my white Taco. A little change from the same ol blacked out look that's starting to get old. I'm seeing more custom colored wheels too.
Does anyone have a picture or know how these wheels look on a 2014 tacoma? the offset is 13mm but i can't find anywhere with the backspacing. just don't want anything thats too far out of the wheel well. thanks
so yo havent lifted you truck when doing this video right? i jus bought a 2019 TRD Off road, and looking for these tires. No rubbing or no mods to make them work properly?
Jesse-Lee Stymiest I also have a 19 OR. Haven’t gotten to the tire replacement yet either but did a Toytec 2” lift kit to accommodate a 32” tire. Highly suggest you lift it then tire rubbing is not really an issue. Stance is way better as well.
Did the same thing at America’s Tire Store. 265 /75 16’s KO2 DT ( new designation for the new tread compound supposedly to increase the tires mileage ). America’s Tire mounted and put the left front on and did compete turning test to make sure there wasn’t any problem. NO PROBLEMS!!! Costco’s thing must be an insurance thing ? Ed Krain Not sure I’ll have a chance to use them in snow but, if I do, I’ll let you know. Mileage difference was insignificant. Breaking distance difference is not noticeable either.
Put K02s on my 2020 TRD OR prem. Awesome tires!, big difference in ride and feels. Much smother ride on my truck over crappy wranglers! Good choice, and they look great! I did black letters out, but have silver with black trim.
I went with 265/75r16 BF Goodrich KM3 on my 2018 TRD Pro Costco had No issues with installing them nor did they do any damage to my Rims, did you go back at them about the damage?
Hello all. I need some advice. I own a 2019 Toyota Tacoma sr5 and I want to get bigger and aggressive tires without any lift. I presently have 245/75R16. Any suggestions?
Finally a video with stock suspension and larger tires. Been looking for this.
Pros actually come with a 1.5" lift
That’s still a stock suspension.
@@TheDudeKeanu So it’s still stock suspension then; got it.
Trd off rd and pro should be fine.. they are same height..
@@milanmq2686 Off-road is a little shorter than the pro and you won't be able to fit very many if any 33 sizes on a stock off-road
Yea I liked the white letters

I’m getting the Toyo Open Country M/T instead. I hear they last a long time and I’ll be doing more pavement driving anyway.

Nice seeing someone rock 265/75r16s. Seems like everyone and their brothers are going with 17s.
I’ve got 265/75/16 on my stock 2nd gen taco
I had the KO2s and couldn't wait to get rid of them. Didn't ware well, several flats and vibrations. Got Toyo now and haven't had any issues.
Good call with the white lettering on the outside
