Hello guys, I made an Instagram page where I update the small engine work side of things for frequently. You can also get in touch with me there. @smoll_engine
My absolute pleasure, if I want one thing from this channel it would be for it to bring value to other people. Thank you very much for watching, I appreciate it tons:)
It's a kit for general mx bikes. There are more specialized kits and more expensive ones but this was a good starting point. They even fit some smaller Honda and vw heads. I buy a new cutter when I need it, so far I have added a 15 and 70+ degree cutters to do a 5 angle valve job. They have everything, depends what you want to spend really
I had a rod that was the same diameter as the valve guide bore, I put the rod in the bore and indicated up and down it until it was straight. Then to make sure I just indicated the floor of the valve seat bore and it was flat. There might be a few ways to go about it. I think a level would work well too if you can get a rod of some sort that sits flat against the floor of the bore and measure with the level against the top.
I just replied to your email. Our Instagram is "smoll_engine". A website for the engine work is in progress as we speak. I will make sure to share as soon as it is ready
Next time I will use the cnc to rough out the seats but I prefer the neway cutters when finishing because it takes a second to change the cutter and the only setup is inserting the mandrel in the valve guide.
I can only reply in English but I bought my set at cylinderheadsupply.com They have a large variety of sizes for different engines so you have to do your research. They can get a bit pricey
So I make a mandrel that the guide sits on, basically a little pin with a stop. Then I warm up the bore where the valve guide goes in and gently hammer the mandrel with the guide into the hole. Then I make sure the valve is sticking out the amount the OEM standard calls for. Then the valve guide needs to be finish honed to match the valve.
Jesus, I seen a Serdi machine from the '60s do a better job cutting. An actual valve seat guide machine will do a way better job. How'd you get the old valve seat out? If you have a valve seat guide machine, you can just cut it right out, just like a cylinder liner in a block. There's a reason why you didn't show us that part. With that wonky hole that you showed us your turd CNC machine made, your customer is going to drop a valve seat. Jeesus

Super detailed and informative, keep up the great work 👍
Greatly appreciated, its certainly a work in progress. Learning alot in the trade but also UA-cam itself takes some practice.
@@shopdreamin372 100% practice makes progress, looking forward to see what you create in manufacturing and here on UA-cam
Thank you for the help, I needed it. SERIOUSLY. THANK YOU VERY MUCH !!!

Hi can you do full walkthrough of shimming and adjusting the valves ? Thank you
So what you're saying is I should be able to do this in my basement with a hand drill and a claw hammer?
Great work sir!
The concept is really all there. Make hole and put in metal. Thank you:)
Amazing videos keep it up !!
That really does mean a whole lot to me, I appreciate it greatly.
Great tutorial. I learned a lot.
What metal do you make the valve seat from?
How much does a job like that cost ? I have a 07 rmz 250 that needs basically the same work
What size are the cutters? Will they work for all of the major MX bikes?

how did you find the angle to set it up in the mill?

Поставил бы из БрАЖ 9-4 на выхлоп. Самое то. Тепло уходит быстро и отскока нет.
I want to do copper seats in the future
I need to do this how much do you charge me
Hey you got a website? I need my valve seats re cut on my Crf250r

Hi sir how do you install valve guide in small engine head
