I don't think Cobain ever harmed a fan, so, yeah, it was his stage. He stopped several performances to actually help fans in need. Punching instruments does not count.
Mad respect for when Kurt was performing and some guy was harassing a girl in the audience and he stopped it.

The Nickelback one is understandable. NOBODY wants to play a concert to a live audience that DOESN'T want to be there and dodge fucking rocks during every song. Most of these aren't really freakouts either.

Agreed. I do enjoy nickelback here and there, and I think they’re an alright band.
However, hate them or not, pouring your life’s work into something in attempts to make people enjoy it and make them happy, only to have it all crushed by an entire crowd of people can be soul crushing. I think chad can be a huge dick, but damn does it seem to hurt when that happens. Can’t help but feel for them.
I prefer the moment when Kurt kicked a guy out of a show for groping a woman in the crowd.

Which only showed Billie Joe’s ignorance/drunkenness, Usher is an industry vet too and he’s been in the game since the mid 90s.
Usher also played before Green Day, so the organizers had already in advance decided to cut them but, as far as I can tell, said nothing before they went on stage. Terrible management.

Grohl and Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park are really great talents and people. They're able to give a great performance and still look out to make sure everyone is safe and having a good time
Laser pointers can cause serious eye damage. Using one on someone should honestly land someone in legal trouble, even if just a fine.

Yeah, the laser pointers I couldn’t blame. I also couldn’t blame Courtney, nickelback or Justin Bieber.. Bieber’s “freak out” could’ve had a more dangerous outcome since he could have slipped and gotten hurt.

Definitely. I might not like some of these bands but I wouldn't go see them then throw things at them or use a laser pointer. And bands that stop a show when I fan gets hurt is the right thing to do. However flipping a pino because of lights or stopping a show to wait for a person missing a leg to stand up isn't cool. Not cool at all.
More than anything, I absolutely freaking adore how the other guitar player in Green Day smashed his guitar in loyalty 🤣 🙌🏼

my favourite moment at any concert ive been too was when i saw pearl jam and a guy was starting fights and making people uncomfortable in the crowd so eddie said hey you can just come up on stage and sit with us and once the guy hopped the fence thing eddie was like you wish and kicked him out
I love that as Billy Joel had his outburst, and the rest of the band kept going and seemed to not even miss a note.

Definitely. Tool has always been my favorite band ever since I first saw the visual masterpiece that is the video for Prison Sex. Maynard Judo-flipping some idiot into a choke-hold, all while never missing a beat to the song only cements it further.

The fact that Rob Zombie nearly kicked Marylin Manson's ass tells us so much about both of their characters pending recent events. Zombie is a sweetheart who treats women with respect & Manson is a crazy psychopath who thinks threatening to dismember and eat women is a way of being romantic.

Armstrong's iheart freakout, as intoxicated as he may have been, wasn't just a childish freakout though.
In the original video you could see the 5 minute counter that he first pointed out abruptly change to one minute.
Bieber or Usher or whoever was on before Green Day went long and instead of management either stepping in and cutting that act short or spreading out the cuts, dumped a lot of it onto Green Day, as they were the rock band between pop acts.

I went to Mayhem Feast when Avenged Sevenfold was one of the headlining bands and M. Shadows stopped singing to kick a guy out for punching a woman who clearly didn't want to mosh. He wouldn't continue the show until that guy was kicked off the property. Love Avenged Sevenfold even more after that happened. 💕

I have seen the full video of the Billy Joel meltdown and it is epic how he manages to freak out and continue the song. At one point, I think he even yells in key with the song. The Billie Joe Armstrong thing was absolutely justified. If the promoters or whoever didn't give them ample warning, but instead just cut time in the middle of the song, that was absolutely unprofessional.
Nothing Axl Rose does will ever surprise me unless it's showing up on time I would've been surprised if Axl wasn't on this list

MJK was my favorite! He said on Joe Rogan's podcast, if you get on his stage, he will knock you out! 🤣 I've seen Chester Bennington stop in the middle of the show to kick out fans. A girl was crowd surfing and a bunch of dudes were groping her. He had a freak out cussing the guys out, threatening them and refused to continue until they were all removed. Axl's freak outs are legendary though!

To be fair, there are plenty of easily mispronounceable rivers, mountains, towns, etc. in the States as well. Worcester, Massachusetts is pronounced "wooster" for some reason. Near where I live there's a town called Tooele that's pronounced "too-will-uh" and another called Hurricane but pronounced "her-a-cun." 🤷♂️

The TOOL entry should have gotten #1 just on technical difficulty alone - keeping up with the song *while* downing a rowdy fan and putting him in a chokehold is amazing! He's put all future idiots on notice *and* maintained artistic excellence - hell, if anything, he's taken performance art to a whole other level with that sequence!!
I was expecting to see Scott Stapp from Creed on here. He was doped up on painkillers that the "rock doc" had given him and due to extreme exhaustion, crap he took from his jealous band members, the pills he was on, undiagnosed bipolar, and his agents pushing him to do a year and a half tour, he asked the crowd during "Who's Got My Back" if they had his back. They replied yes and he pointed at his band members and said, "I dont think they do." He then flopped on his back and sang the rest of the song just lying on his back. I think that was right after his car accident too that his agents pulled him out of the hospital to shoot a music vid... Needless to say Creed broke up after that...a shame because they were amazing.
I wonder if alot of these rock bands have similar experiences...they are super exhausted but they have to keep going and take drugs and pain killers that "rock docs" give them...

I saw Kanye do a big ranting set at Bannaroo 2014 while in a touring band myself at the time. Imagine half the crowd at the main stage heading to other stages lol Thats what happened when he started cutting off his DJ and yelling "Where tha press at? They wrote a bad review about last year's set."

Hope they tour soon......I want to take my son. Not my favorite band by any means...but you need to see a Maiden show before you die.....nothing like it. More energy than a nuclear warhead.....I've seen them twice -incredible performance.

They DID have their set halved. Not *before* they got on stage, but WHILE they were playing. They halved Green Days set for Usher, and their way of telling Green Day was *"YOU HAVE ONE MINUTE REMAINING"*

I understand that fans are crazy and unpredictable but with the reaction time Maynard had and how easily he held the guy down, there was no need for him to do it then. Clearly you've never played on stage at a venue. No one wants to be walking along with pitch blackness around you in-between synched stage lights and then casually slip on water and break their fucking neck. He was trying to make sure it got cleaned up and they couldnt even stop fucking grabbing him for 5 seconds.

I saw Kanye in San Jose in 2016. I believe it was the second concert of that tour, with Sacramento being the third and last one. He went of on a rant when I saw him. Good thing me and my boyfriend got comped seats and didn't have to pay for them...my first hip hop show....it was definitely memorable....lol...
