First off the temperature readout on the one I received does not show what the actual temp in the unit is, it only displays what the temp is set to. You have no idea what the actual temperature is.
The main issue I have with this unit is it has a MAJOR DESIGN FLAW. It exhausts the hot air out at the bottom directly onto the filament in ONE SPOT fusing it together. The hot air should exhaust out around the base parameter and up the sides avoiding direct heating the filament.
I returned the piece of junk.
Have you used this consistently since this video? If so, how has it been? This seems like what the PolyBox should’ve been.
I have one of the kickstarter units. WAYYY cheaper than the current offering on Amazon. Works well - people complain that it doesn't diffuse enough and will "blow on" one side more. I would recommend.
Hi, and thanks for the review. Did you measure the power consumption ?
Just curious if you weighed the spools before and after?
does it fit 3/5kg spools?
ok not really a review, more a advertisement. :(
purchased one of these this Christmas not impressed at all, the design of the top where filament inserts is way to awkward, Polly box did this on there v1 and changed it considering this is new recently new product I would have hoped they would bypassed this pitfall.. also not impressed with the heat it gives off filament tends to buckle under the heat and jams in the ptfe tube. All in All I would not buy it again.
