thank you for always being real about tiny house living and maintenance. you really do make it seem more attainable. also thank you for consistently putting captions on your videos instead of using youtube’s auto captions

Hahaa thank you for recognizing the subtitles! I haven't finished going through with all the punctuation but I have a deaf family member and I'm hard of hearing myself, so I've been aware from a young age of how bad CC can be, especially with UA-cam's automated ones. I always want to ensure people are getting the correct information! It's always on my to-do list before I make the video thumbnail ☺

I'm so envious of how quiet your heating system is! Yes, mine is loud. It works great but 🤷🏻‍♀️😁. 😅

That's so cool that the heated floors is the most efficient way to heat your home (I never thought of this but it makes so much sense!). One thing I really love in the winter is being able to indulge in having hot drinks more often like tea, coffee, hot chocolate. It gives me all the cozy vibes and i loooooooove it.

Just like your heated flooring. Windows will transmit cold. The plastic adds another barrier. It works well

I really like the couch pillow it is so pretty, the colours are just beautiful😻
I wonder if you could find a transparent car 'garage', I did a quick search and they do seem to exist, but I don't know if they would stand up to an Ontario winter.

You don't necessarily have to have leaky windows for the plastic wrapping to help. Even with double-glazed windows with a good seal (as we have in our place), just having the plastic there traps a layer of air between the window and the plastic and provides more insulation.
As for what I look forward to in the winter.... Clean air, I guess? The one nice thing about when it gets really cold here is that the skies get very blue and clear and the air quality improves significantly. The downside is that it is often so cold that I don't want to go outside! 🥶

Have you ever thought of maybe a curtain over those pipes behind the washer? 😊

Thank you Stacie for your usual informative video. Unfortunately I purchased my so called new build tiny (it has second hand materials & had a stackable washer/dryer that was manufactured in 2004!) that has a mini split for heating and cooling. I'm hoping I can use the cooling during the night in the summer when I'm not using other hydro as the park has limited hydro and doesn't want renters using hydro only, I've had a propane furnace and instantaneous water heater installed. The furnace was turned on as a trial this week and it was noisy but apparently something was hitting the case so I hope it's been fixed!
I'd love to have a bird feeder but I'm concerned it would cause other critters to come around, mice, squirrels, raccoons etc. as they do come out of hibernation at times during the winter if there are warm spells. Have you had issues?
I had my tiny home towed to the park on September 29/23 and I'm still not living there as the bathroom isn't finished yet. The workmanship was so bad that I had to have the bathroom gutted. The insulation is poor throughout but I cant afford to gut the whole house. I couldn't afford to sue the builder and take the chance I wouldn't get my money back. I'm having an add on room/mud room/sunroom built so I hope that helps keep some cold out! I'm really hoping I can live in it by the new year as I'm paying double rent.
For all reading my comment, ensure that you get a reputable builder for your tiny home!!!

Thanks for your comment! I have never had mice, I assume because there are A LOT of barn cats around here. I do hear racoons occasionally fighting at night (look up racoon fight and you will see how horrifying it sounds!). But yes, I have A LOT of squirrels and they're very crafty. You need a baffle on the feeder pole so they can't climb up.

Thank you so much for these informative videos. I would love to also live in the RV park. I do have a builder, just need a place to put the tiny before I invest. Any idea if they are accepting more tiny homes in this park?

I am surprised to hear that floor heating is efficient. Does the whole floor heat up? There are small ceramic cube heaters that set on the floor and blow hot air at your at floor level, but the heat rises to warm up the rest of your body. But it's localized to where you are sitting/standing (as opposed to the entire floor).
