This is a very good point and good to mention in general!! People say that you should think of getting an Arc graphics card for budget (or older) configurations and the A380 is even available for 99 dollars ... but having an older setup, getting this cheap upgrade graphics and then not being able to activate ReBAR could be frustrating. Frametimes (frame delivery variance) is all over the place in games and it feels way worse than the raw FPS numbers.
Yes and on top of this, when re-bar is disabled, my boot times have been really long. Which just makes it seem like a basic need and not just a helpful extra performance boost. I do really like the card otherwise though
@@sniperchachashorts5539 Yes it normally trades blows with the 6800 XT actually. And it is a little slower than 3060 in rendering I expect. I do not have a 3060 to test at the moment though

@contradictionDesign, Hey, finally downloading Blender to do some tests , and maybe see if I can rig something in Blender then transfer to MAX , as MAX is driving me insane lately, what version of blender are you using for your GPU testing? and..Do you have a Simulation Scene set up yet to test CPUS? I'm going to be down to 1 server and workstation soon, but I am keeping the most powerful server, I'm also going to test the quadro cards before they go
I am running Blender 3.6. I have not had time to set up the CPU scene yet, as I am less familiar with Blender simulation and use addons for fluids so I will have to re-learn a little. But it is coming, I swear haha. I can help with rigging. That is one topic I spend lots of time learning. Should probably make some videos for that.... Cool stuff with the hardware! I will be excited to see what it can do.
So the point of using these to upgrade older systems is a mute point. No older systems support rebar. I wanted to pickup one for my boy to play roblox and forknife but his system is an old xeon 1230 v3 like a 1150 4 th gen CPU. grrrrrr this is upsetting.
Well they are about 15% slower without re-bar, but I would not get one if you can't use re-bar. The Intel driver software continuously bothers you about enabling re-bar, even though you can't. They are decent GPUs otherwise though
@@Tejas_6 Rtx 4070 will likely still beat the 7800 XT in Blender rendering. Blender 4.0 will have a better AMD render API, but IDK how much difference it will make
Thanks for watching! Let me know if you have questions, and consider subscribing if you like this kind of video : )
Could you do a benchmark for Quick Sync with ReBAR on/off? Ideally with concurrent videos, as I'm not sure a single video would max out the engine.

Yes, it will work. Make sure to enable re-sizable BAR in the bios of you motherboard. This will allow the arc GPU to run at it's fastest.

Haha yeah I was hoping it would be a small performance hit but it's fairly large unfortunately.
Do you use only gpus for rendering? Even if, you should buy a better cpu that i5 10th Gen is wayy behind
Yes GPU rendering is much faster unless your scene is so large that you need all of the system RAM. So the CPU is mostly irrelevant.

Haha very true. I got this board in a pair from the Newegg shuffle days. I might put a better CPU in this and make it my test bench sometime
