Saw Wicked in Dolby at AMC... everyone could have sang in that theater and I wouldn't have heard a word thanks to their powerhouse sound system it's why it's my favorite theater.
You are correct. I forget exactly how it's said. And they also basically say only those of the same cultures/religions can see certain things. Like the big kaiju fight in MoonKnight. Or maybe I read into what was said too much. Which is possible.
They mentioned it here on the show how it's a body suit. Not a big deal but if that's the case, I am shocked that Dwayne did not want to add prosthetic belly.
There are video's of folks being thrown out of theaters for singing along to stage shows, here in the UK. Just go to sing along showings folks. It's just common decency.
1:33:40-1:34:00 I understand the reasoning for Sony to keep making those films to keep the rights but here’s my beef with that. I don’t mind whoever owns Spider-Man whether it’s Marvel or Sony. However, if they keep making BAD films, is all of that worth it? If Sony keeps making films like Morbius and Madame Web, yes they get to keep the rights BUT they’re damaging the brand. Not only that, if they lose money, that’s not good for business. John saying that Sony doesn’t care as long as they keep the rights sounds like Sony being stubborn. If Sony wants to make films to keep the rights, why not do the same thing as Roger Corman’s Fantastic Four? That movie was done to keep the rights but it was never released in theaters. As a result, nobody saw how bad it was.
I saw an early screening for wicked last night. And I really enjoyed it. Cynthia and Ariana killed their respective roles as Glinda and Elphaba. Jonathan was a good feiyro
Havent watched the whole show yet but John constantly mentions most wrestlers being bad in most parts except for some exceptions, who are the wrestlers hes wanting in movies?
wait. Wicked is split up into 2 movies? Thats a bummer. I was expecting to see the full show if its supped to be 2 and half hours long. well, At least now I am forewarned and not disppointed tonight, I guess.
There's an animated DC short about Sgt Rock. Except in the animated short he has the Creature Commandos with him. Honestly I'm down for a WW2 Wolfenstein looking movie with Daniel Craig
I get that musical biopics may not be for everyone but it's a little weird to single them out for having the same formula. You could say the same thing about musicals, westerns, superhero flicks, dramas, etc.
"Way better than you are willing to admit it is" Pretty much every guy who is afraid to turn in his male card is going to pretend they didn't like it. 🤣
My bad, I did not mean to suggest that a once in a lifetime show could be replaced easily. I meant could it be the talked about HBO hit for a while not necessarily just having the show people stay on stage to collect Emmy’s all night.
Is anyone going to tell John that Ariana Grande was a Nickelodeon star before she was a pop singer so I had no doubt she was going to be good in wicked I mean she was in the most popular Nickelodeon show Victorious
I am going to be all over Sgt. Rock with Guadagnino + Justin Kuritzkes team up which includes Daniel Craig. Challengers has lived in my head since I saw it and I am looking forward to Queer. I hope they rope Jonathan Anderson, Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross in there too. This is all HELLS to the EF YEAHS❤❤❤❤❤
I love The Wizard of Oz and I don’t mind musicals but Wicked bored me. Really did not care about the whole Hogwarts bit and most singing just sounded generic. Also kinda blows that the trailer uses the final notes and shots from the movie.
I loved all the animated trailers they put out today Eilo Witch I’m excited for don’t get rays hate with Pixar also the bad guys 2 and Wallace and G trailer were great as well And I’m seeing Moana 2 next week
Godfather 3 Sucks!!! If Acolyte is "unwatchable" due to poor quality, then so is a movie that is supposed to be taken seriously that has a helicopter drive-by shooting 😂😂😂 "my lucky coat" 😂😂😂😂
I was thinking to go see Wicked based on the overwhelmingly positive reactions. But James Berardinelli's lukewarm review gives me pause. I'm no fan of musicals and don't even think that Wizard of Oz is a masterpiece for the ages, and according to him this is a film that appeals strictly to a crowd that loves both. The fact that the first half of a 165 minutes play has turned into an 160 minutes movie is also a huge red flag.
Sorry John, I like Craig too but he is no Sean Connery...Sean looked better in a. Tuxedo...more believable as a ladies man and his speaking voice was more convincing : Bond...James Bond and lastly his acting chops are more acclaimed!!!
Elio looks great. Simple as that. And heres the thing. I hate musicals. Respect to them. But they arent for me. They personally make me cringe. I hate that word. But it applies here. Again, no hate. Just not for me. Now given all that. The way people are talking about Wicked I may actually check it out. Maybe this will be the one I enjoy. Either way. Even if its not for me. I hope everyone else does.
I’m going to see Wicked tomorrow and I can’t wait! 💚🩷 Also DreamWorks just released their trailer for The Bad Guys 2 and it looks soo good! Can’t wait.
To be fair, Grande started as an actress not a singer. And a funny one at that! I’m not shocked at all.
Seems like people forgot that
Dune two was great. It didn’t leave me speechless in the way that Wicked did. I couldn’t talk for a few minutes after it ended
Just saw it. I’ve been a Wicked fan for twenty years. It far surpassed my expectations and or desires. It rocked my world.
The sub plot is a main plot from the book, it is also necessary for Elphaba's journey.
I was surprised by Grande's comedic timing
'Tick, Tick... Boom!' IS a musical. It's an adaptation of an off-Broadway musical.
Saw Wicked in Dolby at AMC... everyone could have sang in that theater and I wouldn't have heard a word thanks to their powerhouse sound system it's why it's my favorite theater.
in Moon Knight they explained that only supernatural people can see supernatural creatures like vampires i'm pretty sure
yeah they make that clear in the show. Lol
You are correct. I forget exactly how it's said. And they also basically say only those of the same cultures/religions can see certain things. Like the big kaiju fight in MoonKnight. Or maybe I read into what was said too much. Which is possible.
I know why the Elio trailer dropped. Because Disney has Moana 2 & Mufasa in theaters soon and it can play in front of those.
I'm genuinely curious why everyone's beefing light year. Maybe I got to go back and rewatch it, but I genuinely enjoyed that movie.
It's ok to like something that most don't.I actually liked Red One,even everybody else said it was trash.I had a good time watching it.
Dudes…That is so obviously a body suit on the Rock. Seriously. You can even see the black line in the back.
Yeah honestly it saves him from getting fake tattooed everyday, I'm for it.
They mentioned it here on the show how it's a body suit. Not a big deal but if that's the case, I am shocked that Dwayne did not want to add prosthetic belly.
Do you know what sarcasm is?
Maybe they’ll use Sgt Rock to establish WW2 era heroes like the Justice Society or even All Star Squadron?
20 hrs later no Gladiator 2 out of theatre?
Ariana Grande sure has come a long way since Victorious 😭
There are video's of folks being thrown out of theaters for singing along to stage shows, here in the UK. Just go to sing along showings folks. It's just common decency.

Beth already knows about the 'Train Station'☠️
Sargent Rock .. AWESOME !
Ariana Grande was great in Victorious. Watch it!
It feels like Gunn is establishing the JSA as a former team in this universe where they worked with the government and something went wrong.
I saw an early screening for wicked last night. And I really enjoyed it. Cynthia and Ariana killed their respective roles as Glinda and Elphaba. Jonathan was a good feiyro
John: Keep Pop Stars out of movies 😡
Also John: Bring in every Wrestler to all the movies 🤩
Havent watched the whole show yet but John constantly mentions most wrestlers being bad in most parts except for some exceptions, who are the wrestlers hes wanting in movies?
wait. Wicked is split up into 2 movies? Thats a bummer. I was expecting to see the full show if its supped to be 2 and half hours long. well, At least now I am forewarned and not disppointed tonight, I guess.
Ari sold it for me too. And idgaf about musicals of this. Saw it twice. No regrets.
Ariana Grande comes from broadway so this is right up her alley
The comparison would be Sgt. Fury and his Howling Commandos!
There's an animated DC short about Sgt Rock. Except in the animated short he has the Creature Commandos with him. Honestly I'm down for a WW2 Wolfenstein looking movie with Daniel Craig
10 days is simply too long of a sub time to type in live chat. I would've had to switch to my old account.
I get that musical biopics may not be for everyone but it's a little weird to single them out for having the same formula. You could say the same thing about musicals, westerns, superhero flicks, dramas, etc.
Thats great if daniel craig will join james gunn DCU
The HAVE to use the XTC song in Sgt. Rock!
Sargent Rock to me is more similar to Nick Fury and The Howling Commandos.
Moana is basically Polynesian Journey to the West.
"Way better than you are willing to admit it is"
Pretty much every guy who is afraid to turn in his male card is going to pretend they didn't like it.
🤣
Here we never sing while watching movie or play.
My bad, I did not mean to suggest that a once in a lifetime show could be replaced easily. I meant could it be the talked about HBO hit for a while not necessarily just having the show people stay on stage to collect Emmy’s all night.

Uh what happened to Kris in the top right corner, and why she so quiet today

Without the subplot she doesn’t turn against the wizard or have motivation for her going to Oz. I disagree, Jon.
I love The Wizard of Oz and I don’t mind musicals but Wicked bored me. Really did not care about the whole Hogwarts bit and most singing just sounded generic. Also kinda blows that the trailer uses the final notes and shots from the movie.
As a guy in his mid 20’s…who the hell is Bob Dylan? Still really is a complete unknown ig lol
You seen Watchmen? The song in the opening credits is Bob Dylan
i thought that was willy Nelson or sumthin @brickstudman
@@factualopinion4275 nope
Is it just me or do the questions that john and crew receive nowadays reflect just how increasingly annoying people have become?? 🤔
I loved all the animated trailers they put out today Eilo Witch I’m excited for don’t get rays hate with Pixar also the bad guys 2 and Wallace and G trailer were great as well
And I’m seeing Moana 2 next week
Jon m chu Justin Bieber never say never

There are plenty of people who know nothing about wicked who are loving it.
Who?😂
If you are not a fan of musicals, you should stay away from this one.
Sorry John, I like Craig too but he is no Sean Connery...Sean looked better in a. Tuxedo...more believable as a ladies man and his speaking voice was more convincing : Bond...James Bond and lastly his acting chops are more acclaimed!!!

Wicked was ok at best. Too many colours and high pitch singing.
If you were a music major, you would get an F for this “critique.”
Also, *pitched*
1st.
