I was curious about the power output in regards to the ADV bike. Definitely room for some gains there, but more to the point that CFMOTO's ADV bike could be an absolute bargain from a reasonably well known global manufacturer.
46hp is respectable. curious to see how much power and torque that thing would pick up with a few mods and tune
that engine sound is a winner
I just test ride one of these yesterday. Really enjoyed it! Also tested a Triumph Speed 400 and Kawi Z500. Dollar for dollar, I'm leaning towards the CFMoto! To be fair the Z500 may have been poorly assembled by the shoddy dealership, but the CFMoto really shocked me. Good power and torque, good tech, and looks great! Some materials feel cheap, but it is cheap lol
Dealers don't assemble bikes. It comes out of a crate and they connect the battery and put gas in. What was wrong with the Z500?
Merry Christmas Jake.
Merry Christmas Grego
I use a 8' long 2x6 and roll my bike on it so it is the same height as my scales...I put the scales on one end of the 2x6 and weigh each end separately then add them together for the total weight. By weighing each end separately, you can also calculate the front to rear weight ratio.
Great video. MerryChristmas Sir to you and your family
Merry Christmas
Stumbled across these bikes at Eichma. What a sound just love them gotta have one 😊
This is really useful!
The power and weight are not bad really.
What really interests me is the MT450.
It looks quite promising - given all this info.
Yeah I agree, looking forward to that MT
I’ve always did a “hard break in” just ride like I normally do and I’ve never had a problem out of the 7 that I’ve bought brand new but that 300sm that I traded for the new Transalp seemed like it kept gaining power all the way till like a thousand miles but it could just be in my head 😂
Hey it could happen, or it’s in your head 🤷♂️
They made a great platform, it's like baby mt07 but can be adventure bike or cruiser as well.
oooh those are some good numbers, the 450mt shares the same engine with the 450mt, and for the price that these will go, they give the whole small adv category a run for their money
I do a modified break in I listen and feel how the motor is running before I beat the crap out of them but I’ve never followed manufacturers recommendations and never had a failure in 40 yrs except one Ducati that wasn’t mine that a friend flogged. Piston skirts collapsed on that one wooopsies
A mini Gixxer brah video! LOL That looked like his dyno place! Great job! I still bleed red and white! Honda! LOL
Yep that’s Gixxer brahs dyno place. He told me about them. Really cool shop over there.
I do a break in that the manual says mainly because the ecu can tattle
In Australia you have to watch BMW’s as they could be an “unmarked” police car 😂
My son has the 450ss and i weigh 225. It got up to 108 easily with me on it. Great bikes.
That aero really helps then cuz 103 is all I can do
Topped my 450 SS ~120
Wow 😮
@TheGardenSnake my son has done way more then that on it. The aero definitely must help.
@@mattsloop2736 yeah absolute fastest is about 130 but it was downhill haha
That powerband is wild
Can't wait to hear that engine uncorked, it sounds roudy as it is. Def keeping an eye on the 450MT.
Super cool what you did here!
I don't understand that dyno chart? Typically output is measured in relation to engine RPM not MPH as shown @ the bottom of the chart. Are those corrected for gearing numbers or is the chart labeled wrong? Looking forward to your NK800 test but definitely would like to undersatand that dyno chart before you post the NK800 results. Thanks for the video and Happy Holidays!
It’s in mph cuz we didn’t feel like taking the side plastics off to find an ignition wire. It we had connected to one of those it would be in RPMs and we’d have torque. But that’s the power it put to the dyno wheel.
46 wheel off the lot? That's actually very unexpected
Great looking bike
What is the price difference between the two?
Merry Christmas bro
Merry Christmas
I look forward to seeing that motor in an adventure/dual sport frame. Hopefully it comes in a little lighter but I doubt it. Decent numbers though for sure!
I’m estimating it will be 410 wet. The big thing will be how that weight is balanced on the bike. Like the T7 is really top heavy so it ends up feeling heavier then it is. It’s harder to pick up then some heavier bikes.
@@TheGardenSnake absolutely. It would be nice to see it down into the mid to high 3**lbs but how it wears it's weight is definitely key. Much like the crf300 I feel is heavier than I was hoping but wears it pretty well.
@@TheGardenSnake The 450MT is already available in Europe, it weighs 175KG/386lbs (probably without fuel?) according to the website.
I’m definitely watching the 800nk videos, my main lingering problem with cfmoto.. is it still going to be offering support for older models ? These new Chinese motorcycle companies are drastically “updating” ( and by updating I mean stealing/copying/working with) other companies designs are you gonna be able to get parts when they prematurely wear from being made with cheaper materials??
There is nothing cheap with the materials with this bikes.. maybe the parts availability will be an issue due to low, but growing, numbers on sales (compared to big 4) and the limited retailers. But so far this little 450 for the European citys and suburb is really really fun to ride
The 800nk used KTM's 790 engine. So if you're looking for sparepart, then just use KTM's. They are very similar.
This is a joint venture between cfmoto and ktm with cfmoto owning 51% this is a real deal motorcycle make with ktm backing it up.
Can you add spoked wheels to it and off road the bike abit?
Probably, worked for my mt07
Jake's Christmas present to us all.
How much for a dyno tune?
What was the torque?
CFMOTO if you're reading this please make a super moto with this engine please put the drz to shame
Yeah for real
Seeing that Dyno graph makes me think that a lightweight better flowing exhaust to let out that beautiful 270° exhaust note, combined with a tune to smooth out those dips and carry that power at the top end, could go a long way toward making someone smile wider than the Joker. I wonder if we'll get a Supermoto version of the upcoming Dual Sport/Adventure chassis?
You have to weld on a new exhaust. One of the perks of owning a Chinese bike.
goddammit jake stop making me want this
P.S Merry Christmas!
Haha it’s fun
Damn, I want one of these. But I need to figure out how to (safely) carry my 4-year-old on this first. Merry Christmas Jake!
Haha don’t do that!
How much top speed paps
I'd love a adv bike with the 450, somthing to ride alot play alot an go do trips without having an arm and a leg into it
that 1 series beamer is sweet. prob makes some jam
For sure
my mt07 with roads italia exhaust and without passenger pegs, 6 liters of fuel in tank, weighs 173 kgs. non abs model.
Have you actually weighed it? I took my 07 to a scrap yard and they weighed it at 380lbs too. But that scale isn’t really meant things that lite and goes in increments of 20lbs so I didn’t put much faith in it. I’ve weighed a number of bikes now and most people assume their bikes are lighter then they are. It’s fun seeing them disappointed haha.
@@TheGardenSnake +/- 1kg. We use it commercial in the business.
Wonder how working with cfmoto compares to working with Ducati. Think cfmoto would let you tune it if you asked? It might end up being a selling point
Well that would end up making it not stock for the next person reviewing it. This is a demo bike after all.
@@TheGardenSnake even if the dyno dude said he could reflash the stock map to it?
@@captainchaos7706yeah he could. But we’d have to buy a license for that and they’re not cheap.
Kove 450RR please 😢😢😢🙏🙏
That seems like a decent weight and horsepower for that bike.
HP is EU restrictions, over here if you are between 18 and 20 years old you can only ride bikes with max 48hp.
Oh ok ok, now I really want to tune one
Can he beat z500?
I think it makes sense that your dyno guy can tune.... china is at a great point where they are producing quality and dont yet care about making electronics a subscription service and locking half of your bike behind a firewall.
It’s never a guarantee that a dyno tuner can get into an ecu on an efi bike. Can you get into any random computer and reprogram it? And god I hope they don’t start this subscription crap. I want us to rise up as a moto community and sat f no to that.
Can he go 210kph?
When you were talking about the break-in not being a huge deal I was waiting for you to insert footage of you beating the fuck out of the FZ-07 riding away from the dealership.
Also, I must be out of touch. When the heck did bikes start coming with a factory OBD-II port?
Wish my 390 Adventure had a small twin.
There was supposed to be a 490 adv but it went away. With their partnership I wonder if this engine was that.
I love my 390 ADV SW. But I don't love the sound 😅
@@TheGardenSnake Probably was
The rival for this would be the Z500. They're both 450 parallel twin naked bikes. Why compare it to the Ninja 400?
I can’t believe you’d weigh the bike twice. 🤨
😂
i still havent seen a cf moto bike in person ..... other than the ones at haydays
i think they're still pretty small compared to the likes of honda and yamaha, but they're growing. they're bigger in southeast asia and latin america than in the US/europe i think.
also keep in mind that cfmoto is pretty new to motorcycles so all you'll see is new bikes. for other brands you'll mostly see used bikes, so not built in the last 2 years.
kind of an apples vs oranges thing.
@@donderstorm1845 I've seen and ridden a crapload of cfmoto atvs up here in canada .... I think it's just a paperwork / government type delay for us.
@@donderstorm1845 They're not big in South East Asia. They're probably the biggest in the Phillipines but overall they're not really trusted elsewhere yet, but things are changing. They're pretty well known here in Australia. It's like 50% of people saying they're good 50% of people saying they're rubbish, no dealers, no parts etc...all of which is totally made up
Think they'll probably change that ability to get into the ECU if they see this ?
Hope not!
69 hp & 42.0 tq
The perfect bike…
The average driver has 3 to 6 neurons firing for driving tasks and 86 billions neurons firing for everything else not driving related while behind the wheel.😁
For real
CFMoto showing off its inner KTM.
BRAAAAAAAAAAAPPPPPPPP
weighing it like that wont work (im dumb and paused the video before you provided receipts)
Euro 5 restricting it
Makes sense
83 miles shows ur not ridding it to much.
When I can haha. It’s a very busy time of year when you’ve got kids.
hi
My tuned Ninja 400 makes 50.9 HP and 28.9 FT LBS. Full arrow system, high flow filter, and an airbox mod.
no, it doesn't lmao
@@jls.mp4I've got Norton Performance bolt ons and tune which advertises a %25 percent increase in power.
Never dyno'ed but that's somewhere around 50
@@jls.mp4lol I don’t even have an ninja 400 and I can easily fine an tune from TST making 50 HP and an stage 2 tune making 53 HP…..
You just don’t know what you’re talking about. :P Lol
The Ninja 400 can definitely make over 50 hp. Alex (the owner of Texas Superbikes) showed me some dynos from modded tuned up 400s and they where in the 50s.
There are ones making 57 58's...@@jls.mp4
>Keeps gas cap slightly lose to keep gas can from exploding
>Goes to fill gets gas everywhere
> every. Damn. Time
Literally.. 😩
Slow down when you talk Don Vito.
Ouch
@@TheGardenSnakeSeriously man. 0:47-0:50 was straight up gibberish.
Well I guess I’ll just quit
@@TheGardenSnake No need for that.
shame, jake has tunred into a shill just like chase on 2 wheels.
How? I’m not getting paid. I literally just tested it to find the real numbers. It makes less power then stated and weighs more then stated. If I was a shill why would I say that?
everyone you disagree with is a shill/troll/bot btw. it's a good bike, get over it.
Too bad its super ugly, lol
Pure trash. lol can’t believe you are taking their money for this advertisement. Jake isn’t the man he used to be! Real fans are like wtf is this
No one’s paying me. And I’m one of the few people that disclose things like that. Legally you have to say when you’re doing a paid ad or promotion. Also it’s shady af to lie about it.
This brand mass produces absolute garbage. If you live anywhere near and trails, ask the rangers or park owners what they pull out the most. CFMoto quads and side by sides are junk. I seriously doubt their bikes are any better.
Well from what I’ve seen it seems well made 🤷♂️
Stop making rubbish up
My 10 year old 650nk that has never broken down says otherwise. Well, it did once - the battery failed.
