    I put some miles on a 450 last weekend. I was impressed with the smooth engine and gearbox. I think there's a thicker seat option for the NK as well.

    Just snagged a 300nk for commuting to downtown austin. It will do the highway, tops out at like 90 with the right conditions. Won't win any races but as my first bike its perfect for learning until I'm ready to step up!

    Had a little moto expo here recently and CFMOTO had a lot of interesting things there, naked 800 being one of them but what I'd LOVE to see looked at in this channel is the new Kove 800. Basically the chinese tenere 700 but the claimed weight is ridiculously low for what it is. I saw it too, couldnt sit on it but the bike looked built well.

    I didn't realize you knew Spite. Love that guy. Lately I've been watching his content on the 800NK. I'm seriously debating between getting a Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 and a cfmoto Ibex 450. If KTM/Husqvarna hadn't bailed on their 490/501 twin cylinder bike plans I would already have an order in for a Svartpilen 501. I have a feeling this 450NK engine might be the one that would've been in those bikes since KTM has a partnership with cfmoto, but that's only speculation.

    I’ve had 23 motorcycles and the build quality of my CFmoto 450 doesn’t leave me questioning the reliability of it. I’ve definitely had Japanese bikes that were more questionable and they weren’t old clapped out bikes. I really think CFmoto is hitting the market in a different way and shaking up the bag. That’s going to cause the Japanese brands to innovate more and when companies are in a innovation battle the customer is the winner👍🏼

    New to your channel. I have a '22 CFMoro CLX 700 Heritage. I love this bike. It gives the seating you described that would suit you better. I can cruise at 80mph and my rpms are around 5500. Jumps to 6000 when at 85mph. But it is a basic display so rpms jump every 500, nothing in between.

    The rpm is irrelevant because the stroke is short, and the pistons and rods are comparatively light. Therefore, the piston speed and cylinder wall loading are not that high.

    Should be fine on the highway. Half the time people are doing 55-60 anyways here. One time I was coming down 35 from San Marcos to Schertz on my Monkey(125) and was hitting around 80 and had to keep slowing down in the passing lane because people wouldn't move out of the way.

    I must say, having a Chinese bike company produce a good quality bike makes me happy.
    I've looked at a lot of Chinese bikes, and they look good, sound good, have decent performance, but that quality had been lacking, and we're slowly starting to see Chinese manufacturers getting up their.
    I really do hope CF Moto becomes one of many.

    i had a ninja 300 back in the day and the top speed was about 108 on flat road, or up to about 116 was the fastest i ever got it. they only had about 35hp at the wheel. of course the fairings will make a slight difference, but not a whole lot at these power levels. maybe 5~6mph at most. but the current ninja and Z are now a 450 as well, so i wonder what their top speed will be. probably about 116 on a flat road, if i had to guess. and i bet the Z won't be all that much lower than the ninjer.
    holy crap, i just looked up the z500, and the SE version actually has some decent addons, like frame sliders. and a radical red colorway.
    they just call it candy persimmon red though. they should hire me to name their colors. and only that, but i need a retainer or i'll write names for competitor colors too.
    i honestly wouldn't mind owning one just for the commute. 51hp ain't far off the z650, especially at 370lbs.

    • @TheGardenSnake
      @TheGardenSnake  10 місяців тому +3

      The fairings make a bigger difference than you’d imagine. Without tucking I was hitting the wall around 90-95. Which is pretty nuts cuz just under that at 85 I’m only about 1/3 throttle. But air resistance increases exponentially so it makes sense.

    3:12 I mean, sure... it's safe to ride the bike that way, but how far does your mileage drop off? On my FZ-07, I get 55-60mpg when just puttering around town. But when I'm holding 80mph the whole way, my economy drops down to 40mpg. If I could force myself to go only 65mph on the highway I'd be fine, or install a 7th gear, but neither of those are going to happen. 😅
    Edit: Wow... we're almost the same age; two-months different. Why do you sound so much younger/happier than I do? Am I just a curmudgeon?

    • @TheGardenSnake
      @TheGardenSnake  10 місяців тому +1

      Whenever I pulled back to 70 mph it was getting around 65 mpg on the instant. Pushing it into the 80s definitely pulled it down a bit. Still wasn’t bad and it runs on regular. And man I get to ride bikes for a living so I’m normally in a pretty good mood.

    My problem with the CF Moto 450's are they come in at about the same price as the 500 Ninja and Z500 with their 451cc engine. I know CF Moto has made great strides in reliability but Kawasaki has a longer history of gutsy engines.

    • @stefanstojadinovic2486

      Dealers where I live sell those kawasaki models for 1500-2k more than NK450

    • @kz1000st1
      @kz1000st1 5 місяців тому +1

      With matching MSRP's it then becomes who will add to the price. Right now CF Moto is running a rebate sale that knocks the NK below a Z500. If that continues then all the NK models will be a bargain.

    • @Ntmoffi
      @Ntmoffi 2 місяці тому +1

      This isn´t true actually. First of all, essembly lines in China just build the stuff for foreign companies but they have no clue how actually produce them from the scratch and this is a key point. China is catching up to western industry because it is prooven that they copy/ steal methods from foreign companies which produce in China, which is considered corporate espionage and it´s illegal but noone in China cares and that´s a problem. The machines to fabricate the parts for motorcycles for example where build in Germany by a robotic company called KUKA and other major players from Germany, Netherlands, Europe in general or the USA produce the machines which are a key element to produce stuff in the first place and China has no access to such advanced technology. China is just a place for stuff gets produced cheaply but they catching up fast because they steal technology from western companies who produce there. That´s a big reason why BMW produces it´s bikes in Berlin- Spandau and not in China as you mentioned. BMW builds it´s bikes for the world market in Germany and only some models for the chinese market are produced in China. And CFMoto bikes are a direct result of KTM´s cooperation with them because CFMoto was initially a contractor for KTM who had the task to just build bikes for KTM but they copied the technology from KTM and build their own bikes now. How do you think where they got the knowledge from? It´s a direct result of corporate espionage.
