I like the way you laugh and see how much fun you have with this fantastic rig. At first I thought 3s blx models was for older beginners!?! But what I see ,on 3s, on your channel tells me this beast is for advanced.

Was looking at a traxxas slash but this beast is incredible for less money to. What a monster , think it's time to visit metro hobbies.
Peter Goodwin do it! I was in the market for a traxxas, was ready to pull the trigger and salesman reconfirmed my curiosity on Arrma based on first hand info. I bought an Arrma 6s Typon and friggin love the thing! And I have several Traxxas trucks in my collection. Arrma is more fun, faster out of the box more durable out of the box and cheaper. If you want TSM and phone apps, go w Traxxas. The other benefit is parts are more common.
@@say-dq1th true mate , don't think id regret buying a Senton , seems anything from horizon is great. I've got 40 planes but the horizon planes fly better than other brands and straight out of the box . The 3s would be enough for me , the 6s must be an animal for sure . Looks well built and a great looking truck. Cars are great , use them anywhere. Planes are fun but there's the weather , people in the park , club is packed ,wait all day to fly 10 minutes. My cheap HSP buggy on 3s is great fun anytime, rain ,wind who cares . Need a Senton , $540 for a brushless 4wd quality truck is great value. Enjoy that beast mate , they're beautiful trucks.

very nice video. I normally run it on 2S because I think it's enough power. When I run 3S it's insane! plenty of power no matter what. I like 3S when I'm doing massive jumps due to the added power. Ive had the same steering issue and it boils down to a rock getting stuck in the steering linkage on the left side. Each time I've had the issue, once the rock is cleared, back to normal. Enjoy!

The service in one of mine went on the 2nd run. Whenever it was on, it would go full right. Had to swap out with another servo I had in my toolbox...which has been fine

i love my mine, but my only issue is i keep getting sticks and rocks in the steering linkage. I spend more time fixing the steering then driving...
I used a 2 liter coke bottle and made a dome that covers the whole chassis area kept it very clean no rocks or sticks or grass and even stayed a few degrees cooler be the air funnel threw the dome out the back it has worked out great easy to do use velcro to hold it and a few cuts 5 minutes is all it takes to make one

Never ran my BR Crew Cab with the stock servo. Switched it before my first run. Experienced the same kind of glitching with the steering. So it's not the servo. Thought, and still think it was a rock or some kind of debris stuck somewhere. Not sure though, never needed to take a look, it always began working again after few steering inputs.
3s in it is definitely the way to go, much more fun IMO I’ve got the big rock crew cab n have only ran 3s

I love my senton 3s BLX. There is an issue as you saw though with rocks getting in the steering linkage and stopping it from turning some times. Every once in a while flip it over and shake it real good and that should fix it. I have had to pry a few out to fix it. Besides this it's a great basher and just keeps going.
I used a 2 liter coke bottle to make a dome to cover chassis area even keeps it cooler air funnels threw the dome out the back it works great and velcro to hold it in place very easy to make
A light coat of grease on the pinion and spur gear will lessen the noise

I got a rock stuck near the steering rods and it jammed up the steering a few times. Had to shake the rock out and was good to go again.
Yeah, I think that's what was happening with me, because the servo is fine.
Just put a small pieces of foam to prevent the rocks from entering. Yvan :o)
That used to happen to my granite at least once per run on dirt lol that and the gearbox filling up with rocks

Arrma tough!!!! End of story! One thing I wish arrma would do is make the big bore aluminum shocks standard on all the models. For what they charge for rc's today, they should be included. But, the plastic ones are good too. Just my opinion.
Awesome video! I put a Dusty Motor chassis protector on mine, seem to help a lot, with getting gravel in the steering and the tub chassis design, also, slotted below spur gear, to help with gravel, chewing up spur gear. Keep up these great videos.

Been waiting for this video! I just got a Senton and I love it! I've found that you can't run this truck in gravel cause rocks constantly get stuck in the steering links
Yeah, seems that's what was happening to me...
Yep first run yesterday, two stones in an hour jammed steering link. Is that why there's a cut out in the floor directly under the steering arm? Need to work out a way to stop it, aside from staying on the boring grass.
Any fix for this steering issue.
I just got one today and it was doing it to me as well even on the pavement, maybe had small. Gravel too, but i noticed you flip it back and forth a couple times and it goes away for a minute, my other guess is the steering linkage getting caught on the plastic side guards
now i know what i want for Christmas

I also seemed to have servo problems with my senton mega, I’m not sure if it is from the battery but when I changed mine from stock to a 5000 mah, it seemed to work just fine
Rock and debris into the steering linkage or under the servo saver, this car is a pain to run off road. Arrma has to fix this, check the Arrma forum

My slash makes that sound in somewhat tall grass and I took it to my local rc shop cause it started to slip and I thought something was broken. It ended up being the slipper clutch. I guess that is the sound of the slipper clutch slipping cause of the grass catching on the rc and it's slipping to save the gears. They said that I should get a monster truck for grass and keep the short coarse truck on dirt, pavement and really short grass. I have a lcg chassis and I know this truck has a low chassis as well.

That's bs... I run my slash in any grass and it keeps up with 4x4 stampedes and any other monster truck.

@@jaycevessier7554 well it can be ran in tall grass but it's going to take my of a toll on the slipper clutch if it's set up to slip or if the slipper clutch is tight, it will put wear on your gears. Bigger tires equal more ground clearance but bigger tires also equals more wear on the drivetrain. It's true for regular vehicles as well. I still run my slash wherever but I am going to get a monster truck eventually. I am thinking about getting a arrma but I'm undecided about which one I want. My rc shop wants me to get another traxxas but I want something different and arrma seems to be more powerful and less prone to breaking. Anything will break but it seems like you have to upgrade everything to rpm on a slash 2wd, which is what I have, but I love it, even though I said that. It would be nice to not having to upgrade everything cause of a break in stock parts, nearly every other run. The chassis and drivetrain is all stock, out of the box with the stock vxl but the slipper clutch is the only drivetrain part that has been replaced, only from the tall grass I went through. I went through 3 slippers. That's why my shop said that I should get a monster truck for tall grass. If you notice in the video, this senton went through the tall grass without a issue but it was squealing, mostly in the grass. It wasn't as bad in the dirt. My slash is the same in the tall grass.
@@Spanky8402 idk if it makes a difference but I have the 4wd slash on 3s 16t pinion on oem rustler 4x4 wheels and tires. Slipper is almost all the way tight and I've yet to burn up and a clutch or any gears. Mines also not a lcg chassis. But I'm with you on wanting something different. I'm more than likely about to purchase the new granite blx 4x4. You just cany beat the price for a 1/10th scale 4x4 monster truck. And that's honestly the only reason I want it

I smoke my buddy's senton on a track with 2s slash an he was running 4s maybe I am a better driver but mine didn't brake in the last 6 packs an his broke twice. If you get the slash lcg dialed in I will bet I will keep up with "high end" sct.
Man that sucks about the servo! Still impressed with these Arrma 10th scales overall though. Gonna have to get me a Granite 4x4 BLX to go with my V3 Kraton!

you gotta put a gyro on this i have one on mine and the gyro with the loos gravel makes for some nasty drifts
yes the senton is a beast ripper on 3s have you set your esc to faster torque mode
why would you need quicker torque when traction is a limiting factor? or too much traction and it wheelies like crazy, leave it be it's perfect, no need to burn up your battery and motor/esc.
@@fondfarewell2 seriously it is plenty fast out the box just tighten the slipper and good to go, and faster torque really makes no sense to me lol

Can't wait to get mine out for it's first bash 💪 I am going to put a 3670 motor in mine, maybe hit that 60mph mark with it 😂😂 I also picked up a proline pro-fusion body and Granite tires for that Monster SCT look 👍👍 Can't wait to see what else you do with this Vas! Outside the BMX track is good, mix it up a bit 👍
Aaron remember I mentioned in mine, I was loosing steering n couldnt turn right n then it just would kick back in, I see im not the only one this happend too

My granite does that all the time, it drives me crazy. It is gravel under the servo . I wish they would do something about it .
I've already reported back to ARRMA about this and they are working on a solution as we speak. Hopefully it will be resolved in the next update.

You figure what’s causing the steering issues? I see on other videos that stones get lodged in the steering mech and need to be cleared regularly.
Yeah, servo is fine and looks like it was just stones getting into places they don't belong. Not a huge issue, just annoying.

You make me smile with your infectious giggle 🤭 did you find out the problem with the steering? My guess would be some of that gravel had got inside the body and was preventing the servomechanism from working, I’m gonna try some of that fine aluminium mesh to cover them.

Great video, got my senton 3s blx a few weeks ago what a great RC Sct !! , mine sounds the same, found the pinion to spur mesh to tight, as you know it's a fixed position on motor plate I just very slightly elongated the holes and that abled me to get better mesh. Also with all your bashing and the crashing did you find the front red aluminium brace comes out from the bumper/lower arm pins ?? Mine did twice, could this be a slight issue? How many people have got this RC , cashed it and not realised it's come out? Still its a Great truck! Keep up the good videos 👍

Good to see ur vids vas! I'm surprised it did as well as it did in the rough grass. I have the granite version and I love it to death! Made me a believer and to give 1/10 a shot. The value for what you get and as usual with arrma only needs a few upgrades to be a total beast! Personally just changed the shocks, servo and added sealed bearings and thats it. Its taken everything ive thrown at it and asks for more! Can't wait to see what else you have planned for this!

Anyone know if the spur and slipper set up from the blx will go into my senton 4×4? Cant find a smaller spur and see that the blx has a smaller one that could maby go right in?
Its so light it almost wants to take off, put some wings and it will do a harrier, ja jaI got a RedCat Blackout Pro and does the same thing, on 3S it just takes off. A lot of those cheaper models don't have the best steering and the trucks are so light they barely stay flat on its four wheels. Did you ever figure out what was wrong with the steering?

Mine did the same. After a closer look, I realized that the plastic gears in the servo lost a few teeth. I replaced it with a hi-torque servo with metal gears from Amazon for about $25

There's no electrical glitches, it was just gravel getting stuck in the steering. These should be available early-mid January 2019.

I just got one can someone please explain the (th.trim) dial? If I turn it all the way to the left it will take off by itself and it will cut off the reverse feature
Throttle trim is mainly used by the nitro guys to set the idle, but in this case, put the dial back in the middle and don't touch it.

It has 14mm hexes so keep that in mind. I would just buy the granite tires as they would bolt straight on
@@war_josh1550 Good to know. I was going to snag a set of the granite tires off ebay for my stampede 4x4, but it runs 12mm hexes I think. I have trenchers on it at the moment.

No, 3S is max with the stock electrics.

How does it handle compared to a slash platinum?
The slash handles better but for the price it's not that big of a difference
The front bumper doesn’t hold up very well & I was very underwhelmed by it’s performance on 3s, I thought it would be dramatically different from 2s but I can’t honestly say I was overly impressed by it, I mean it has a wheelie bar on back but doesn’t even pull up the front end😩 it’s a decent truck but expected a bit more.

I had the same issues with not being able to turn right n then it kicks back on then lost all steering for a few seconds n then it comes back on. also ive had it were i loose reverse n then it comes back on??? this is all happening on my new arrma big rock
I also thought something was stuck in the steering n was the reason i couldnt turn right n then it did come back but then id loose steering again. Well im glad I see im not the only one thats having this issue
What do you think it is? Just crummy transmitter/receiver losing connection sporadically?
