So, Arrma RC released the 3s BLX (Brushless) version of the Senton a few months back, say what you want about ARRMA, but this thing will take over the Traxxas Slash as the go to Basher. Tough, Fast and looks amazing! Worlds Best RC Short Course Truck! (for bashing)
I can't wait for the Arrma Kraton 4s BLX thats on the cards! I wonder if they will make an Arrma Outcast 3s or 4s BLX? Or the Notorious 3s BLX?

This looks like a good spot that your at in the video. I have a slash 2wd vxl but it needed so many upgrades to run it and not have any breaks. I am not a fan boy of traxxas but I like them, mostly because of nostalgia. I remember seeing a slash run when I was younger, almost every weekend at the corner park. I would wake up early on Saturday morning to watch cartoons and then walk up to the park and watch it run for a long time. The guy would sometimes have a plane as well. Arrma wasn't available when I got my slash cause I would have been looking into Arrma as well. Part support is a huge thing with traxxas though. The price difference between traxxas and arrma is enough to get me seriously thinking about a arrma monster truck. I kinda like the big rock but I don't have the money yet and I am hoping to see a 3s outcast or Kraton come out. I have ran a Kraton at my local track and a granite while I was bike riding on a offroad trail and I prefer to run no more than a 3s and to have less weight, like your senton. The more weight on the 6s platform and needing 2 batteries for each battery change or a bigger battery is a turnoff for me. I just like to have a little mindless fun and speed isn't everything for me. I do have a axial scx10, jeep wrangler that came out with the castle esc. I have more fun trail riding than staying in one spot and running my slash. With it only being a 2wd, that limits my places to run cause tall grass or random rocks in places I take my scx10, is always frustrating to use my slash. A 4x4 monster truck will give me more chances to go through and not get stuck as much and I can run it through a few bmx trails that are not maintained. Some people do run revo's, arrma monster trucks, and I have seen a redcat monster truck one time. I think fanboys of anything is kinda stupid. I do prefer some brands over others in certain things but I always have a open mind on other people's choices. I don't know that much about redcat but I have heard that they are a hobby/toy grade rc but that one monster truck I saw, wiped out alot and nothing seemed to break. That makes me wonder if it's good or if it was heavily upgraded like my slash, so it rarely breaks.
@@Spanky8402 I agree Traxxas make some nice rigs, it's just a shame they don't play nice with other brands. I have no experience of the Slash...but I've heard it's the one to have if you have a Traxxas. I have a 'Nitro Street' from the 90's that needs restoring, not sure if I'll get around to it anytime soon
I had an Outcast and loved it, but it was to big really for the area I live and bash in. And like you say, the 3s and light weight is much easier to handle...but still fast and tough.

I'm not a traxxas fanboy my self , but i do own 2 , the trx4 and the slash 4x4. had nothing but problems with the slash 4x4 , bearing going out , no drive axles to handle 3 s . wheel nuts coming loose , and wheels not wanting to turn good for some reason , even after bearing change , but traxxas trx4 , i have had no issues with , its working great. but i do want to get me a new basher , and it will be something Armor.
I subscribed because it's nice to see somebody that's got some actual throttle control and driving ability, nice job.

Yeah the slash and traxxas in general is totally weird with pricing, slash is like 500$ but the new ruslter 4x4 is 379$ pretty much the same but thicker plastic parts all around 🤔🤔 makes me wonder why anybody would get a Slash 4x4 vxl. Then you got the 2wd traxxas brushed that are super cheap 160$ and the it jumps to like 400$ for a vxl 2wd lol so they figure their 10th scale velineon motor and ESC is worth 200+.....ok sure. The only Traxxas I have is the ruslter 4x4 and that's because I thought they priced it pretty well.
So right the Traxxas Slash is a waste of money

While Traxxas is re-releasing 15 year old designs & calling them new, Arrma is taking their latest platform to awesomeness. I just picked up a 3s Typhon & is eyeing it up next to my 6s version. I'm amazed at just how the size of the 2 are nearly identical despite being 2 completely different platforms. But we are talking about Arrma here who took one metal chassis & made a buggy, SCT, & MT out of it. Bah, if it wasn't for Arrma, the Slash would still be $600.
Yes, exactly that. I'd like to see the Senton be the most popular SCT to go for. Make Traxxas realise they are falling behind!
Tomley YUP, and in this video, other than the insane big bash jumps, the Senton landed like a wet sponge, no bouncing stable as you could ask for. on a regular RC track you're not going to see jumps THAT big, so it's really set up ready to go.
@Megasty This may be a stupid question, but why would you buy a 3s version when you already have a 6s? I'd think it would be the other way around. Sorry if I'm missing something here. I'd like to think I'd buy a different RC altogether rather than buy the lesser model of what I already own. Not trying to bust your balls at all bud, just a real question. @@evitasdildoz8075 They are not in the same ballpark. You can't really compare the 2. The only thing they have in common is the name. Everything else is different. Plus, the 3s Typhon is setup OoB exactly like I would want the platform with super thick hub axles with 17mm hexes. I don't mind the naming because they have the same body but it does lead to confusion like this. The 3s Typhon is not a lesser model. It has a totally different platform from the 6s. It's much lighter so the 3s power can push it at speeds which match the 6s OoB. Of course, they both can be geared up to reach 60mph, but the 6s version just gets there with ridiculous power hitting the ground while the 3s simply floats there with very controllable power. But I'm not content with that kind of stuff. I pushed the limit of the new platform & dropped the 6s drivetrain in the Granite: ua-cam.com/video/vQPwX3WjESc/v-deo.html That really blurs the line too much but think of it as just another car to play around with.

Great vid. Great locations. Great fun. I loved the editing. Loved you trying over and over to make that one jump rather than show all smoothness. That thumbnail photo is epic. The only letdown is that I had to turn the volume way up to 37 where I usually have my TV at 23. Scary stuff when a commercial blasts after your video.
Honestly, and from just this one vid I enjoyed your subdued commenting (though you should speak up so the videos that play after yours on UA-cam aren't insanely loud).
Unlike Jake Billing I can actually see that you can drive well. He may be a great RC driver but we don't see anything more than average in his videos... and (sorry Jake) I actually mute the volume on his vids. He has an annoying overselling way of speaking on his vids... like the Crocodile Hunter. Just show us you can drive an RC Jake... the Notorious vid was... OK...
Your vids aren't Rich Duperbash level but you were at a great location and gave the Senton a good bash here. Enjoyed it enough to write a mammoth comment.
Wendy On Thanks for the feedback 👍🏻, I noticed after the final edit that the Volume was quite low. I often use headphones while editing, and as they are really good quality (B&W P7), I find when listening back without them it’s sometimes low.
Certainly something I’ll be working on. I always forget about the adverts, I level all my volumes so you don’t get super loud background music like some creators do.
With the introduction of multiple adverts on longer videos, I need to take them in to account as they come on halfway through!

I'm kinda new to the hobby about 6 months deep so I know there is more I missed that are still better than the slash.
I only bash these things, I know a lot of people say the Tekno and Losi are pretty good racers. I just think if you look at the cost of the Slash compared to this, it's an easy choice! And you sae how hard this thing landed on more than one occasion before it broke the bottom arm!
Associated made some excellent stuff back when, idk about right now.
fun fact. the tekno SCT race kit is actually cheaper than a slash. just to put in perspective how ridiculous the pricing on it is
@@kaozer666 yup lol 350$ for the kit not bad at all and the parts are insanely strong and thick compared to Traxxas stuff, the guy at my lch was showing me tekno parts side by side with traxxas parts and tekno makes traxxas look like a new bright lol.

For folks that still want to try a traxxas slash 4x4 and can't afford it look up the Huanqi 727 direct clone if you're lucky enough you can pick it up as a bargain and change over the electronics and you're good to go. But neither the clone or the slash itself can compete with the quality of the Arrma Senton

If it’s fun, it’s fun. I don’t care about the companies that make them really. But the arrma outcast has been one of the most fun cars I’ve ever driven. But I also love to baby my traxxas UDR and watch that sick suspension work soak everything up. Great video. Subbed. 👍

Love arrma !! I just ran 4 packs through my talion all 6s and beat the piss out of it and didn't break anything. Huge jumps couple back flips....I never got through 1 pack on my traxxas cars without breaking something...i sold all my traxxas garbage never again...

I recently bought a mega boost senton and upgraded it to a 3s. Runs very smooth. I then got a second hand actual blx off ebay and it runs but is very whiny. Theres like a shrill screeching noise when accelerating. I have ordered new slipper pads and cleaned and checked the diffs but after watching this ot seems yours makes the same noise so maybe its the motor or metal motor plate that does it as those are the only differences between my two cars.

Hello, new sub here, if I’ve got the typhon already, between the senton and the granite, which one do you recommend? I take the typhon on grass, dirt, and asphalt. Would the senton be good or the granite ? For what reasons would I pick one over the other ( senton versus granite )? Thanks, and keep up the great work and new content!
For all round bashing, get the Granite... for a bit of speed and stability, get the Senton. Both can be bashed, the Senton is a little better handling
Hi, I was wondering if you could give me some advice. I'm looking to get back into rc after 20 years away from it. I can't decide whether to get the Arrma Senton or Arrma Granite. It will mainly be used for thrashing around on grass fields and skate parks.. 20+ years ago I used to run a Traxxas buggy.. Great vid, BTW.. 👍🏻
I'd get the new Granite V3 or Big Rock V3 (I have a couple of videos of the new Big rock).

What I find funny is people being so brand loyal...Until I get free product and/or a check, I'm loyal to whichever whatever I like best. 1 car from one brand, another car from another brand based on quality of what I'm looking for. As a Slash Ultimate 4x4 owner, I love it but I'm not opposed to having the Senton also and being able to say they're both awesome, if that is the case & it does appear to be. The Senton looks awesome & hope to be able to play around with one soon. Nice video btw. Thanks for not trying to sell me any "Get rich quick" schemes, that is why I no longer watch a certain channel.

I think its sad that people bash brands because they don't like them, the best RC is the rc that puts the biggest smile on your face, it doesn't matter what brand it is, if your a arrma fan boy or a traxxas fan boy your missing out on some great stuff because its not the brand you like, E.g the xmaxx is a one off nothing compares for bashing but arrma fan boys miss out, the kraton is an awesome rc but traxxas fan boys miss out it is crazy, We should all be RC fanboys that play with what we enjoy most, don't bash someone cause their truck is a brand you don't like, meet up with them race them bash with them and you'll see its not about the brand, it's all about doing something you enjoy with people that are doing the same.
You sound like you’ve been watching to much Kevin Talbot 😆....I don’t like Traxxas as a company, and I don’t like how they price their RC’s.....the Slash is decent, but like I said in this video, it costs $100+ extra on the Senton. The Xmaxx is a very good basher, but it’s $1000, which is not affordable for many people, and straight out the box it’s not as strong as it’s made out to be. Anyway, all RC’s will break if you have a big enough tumble wumble, so just choose what you can afford to run and have fun. 😎👍
Yeah you're right the bloke is an inspiration, I have Traxxas losi tamiya wl and watched this video because I am thinking of buying a senton they all entertain me don't care who made them.
@@jantheman2001 If you look at the 200+ videos I have, you'll also see I am not a Fan boy of any particular manufacturer. I have more Tamiya's than Arrmas. You won't be disappointed with a 3S Senton ;)
I agree… personally I see zero reason to fanboy over one company. All that does is limit the persons options. (Is that company giving them anything in return for brown nosing them… nope! So why do it)
Personally I dislike the way Traxxas handles a lot of there products/pricing but I still like the product.
Like I said why worship one make. I’ve got HPI, traxxas, Arrma and Losi vehicles. It’s way more fun to own many from all makes that a handful from one.

Never had a parts availability issue with any of my arrma. I had a Traxxas xmaxx sold it a month later. ARRMA ALL DAY!!!
While I want a higher end crawler for this Christmas, your tempting me with this gem. While I do not own any Arrma yet, I always found their shocks and my redcats had the best shocks compared to so called higher end vehicles, so in short how well this thing absorbs the jumps.
Any rally car bodies fit this sucker well? My only reluctance getting one is the Stadium truck body
I think you can get them, but not sure the wheels base/width you'd need.

I’m new to RC and am considering a Senton or Granite. Which would you recommend? I need something affordable, forgiving and fixable. Would you recommend Arrma over Traxxas, Absima or Helion. Who has the best aftersales/ spares in the uk? I live near Epping forest so I’m gonna be a basher.
I'd say the Granite would be better for bashing. The Senton is awesome, but being a short course...it's not as good at taking the bigger bumps etc that you will have at Epping forest. After sales/spares are not the best at the moment, but I wouldn't say it's a reason not to buy one. As for Traxxas....I'm really not a fan....aftercare is good, but the trucks are not worth the extra £££ 👍
Tomley RC Garage Thanks so much for the advice. Ill probably get the granite although maybe a big rock with some wider tyres. I think the longer body might be less inclined to flipping as I’m sure to be a bit trigger happy. Where is that BMX track you were running on?
James Smith-Pryor Yeah the Big Rock is more stable from what I’ve seen. My UA-cam Buddy ‘Bearded RC’ has for some cool videos with the Big Rock. Worth checking out 👍🏻 BMX track is in Nottingham (Rushcliff Country Park)

I'm going back and forth over the Slash VXL and the Senton 3s BLX. I want something with some speed, but not to do any bashing. I think the Senton is more up my alley because of the price. I'm an Axial crawler guy so this will be like a racecar to me lol

@@TomleyRC It would be epic to see, and properly great and well-deserved recognition to as the specs are just great for the price. Reading the ESC specs, it can take 3S after an uprated fan! I am going to get one of these to start me off into the world of RC racing, particularly Short Course Trucks for their protection during racing unlike buggies.

The 6s is a bit of a animal! A lot of people saying this is more manageable and less weight so easier to control. It’s the same size as the 6s and not much slower!

Hey bud I got one the other day and man it is even more beautiful in the flesh haha just getting some bits together for it and just need a metal gear servo upgrade and a decent set of road wheels/tyres for it. Do you have any suggestions for a servo please bud? I have plane lines laying around but prolly not big enough dunno man lol
I'm still using the stock servo, no issues. I'm not to sure what is a good upgrade, I know a lot of people use those 25kg Red Banggood ones... I have a couple on other rigs, seem decent 👍

Yes, the 6s.....it's $200+ more, and I'd say a bit too fast (if you can ever have to fast)...haha. This thing is pretty well balanced, and only 10mph slower than the 6s!

I have a slash vxl, rustler vxl and a trx4 bronco, so I guess I'm a bit of a fan, until recently the controller for my trx4 bronco broke, and they told me they only warranty electronics for 30 days and want to charge me 50 to fix or replace it. I spent $550 on the truck 2 months ago, fuck Traxxas!
Relax dog I haven’t had a problem with any of my traxxases other then the usual things that break on any rc
I like my senton but they only I have with it keeps blowing tyres out running it stock. Took it to same beach as tomley for a speed run but blow rear factory glued tyres out on first run. Anyone got any advice on tyres for it?
They might be using different glue. I’ve blown one out, but only after many runs
Are you comparing it to the slash hcg or lcg because the lcg is a world of difference.

Yes, but it's a bit heavy, and I want to say over powered! This is the right balance for a SCT
@@TomleyRC The 6s truck is a buggy with a SCT body. Nothing more, nothing less. It doesn't drive like a buggy because of the body & it definitely doesn't handle like a SCT. Proline also is stepping into that market, but their SCT won't be that heavy. Dropping 6s in it might be a mistake. You need weight to handle that power. Which is why the ProMT on 6s is a nightmare.
I´d gladly have given you a "thumbs up" for the excellent thumbnail shot as requested, except I´d already cracked by then - it was the epic moment of glory we´d just seen @ 4:20 that was the culprit.
By the way, I´m delighted to say that the second 124301 I ordered (the first went astray) arrived yesterday. I´m hatching plans for its future : )

I've noticed most RC fans are from the US and very few are from the UK like my self.
I'm in two minds should I get the Armma Senton BLX or Armma Granite BLX both are good but I think the Granite can take more of a bashing
Yes, I always talk about stuff in Dollars as most of my subscribers are in America. I think the Granite is more of a basher, I'm a big Short Course Fan, so this was my first choice. I will get a Granite though...

Cheers for the sub dude. This is recorded somewhere in Nottinghamshire, can’t remember the name of the place though? As for this vs the Granite, from what I’ve seen, the Granite is more of a Basher than this. But the performance is not much different. This is a little more planted I’d say 👍🏻

The BLX series are all brushless. Not heard about any diff problems?

That would be true for the sensible. But most see all the dough Traxxas put into their videos & think that plastic junk is the best thing ever. Still, you live, you learn, then you get Arrma.

@@TomleyRC They are almost unbreakable from what I've seen you do. Just had to buy it ,was on special, $110 off the price . Been looking at one for a year and I love Arrma trucks . I've got 40 planes ,the horizon planes are all good and all fly great out of the box. Dynam are cheap but don't bother . I couldn't buy a traxxas over this .I've heard bad things about that company, I'll stick with horizon. Great videos mate ,keep them coming.
i have a 2wd brushless slash, i found about the senton and i was blown away. the arma senton is so much better
They are certainly decent trucks! They have just brought out and orange body for them, looks nice!
It’s like a buying a Yukon Denali yea there nice but I want Cadillac Escalade yea it’s the same but every one wants the better one, I love my monster slash wouldn’t trade it for nothing

There's about 50€ price difference between slash and senton, if you don't have other RC the choice is obvious. If you do, go by the batteries 😁.

@@TomleyRC It has more than enough wheel speed..That was driver error lol.. You slammed on the brakes as soon as you launched at full speed..Normal jumps? I beg to differ..This chassis fly's off the biggest jumps I've seen..Check out Rich Duperbash

Hey guys. No bias once so ever for either but I have both a traxxas rustler Val and a arrma granite blx. And yes it is a nice truck and most ways keeps up except for the gear box. I can’t run a 3s in the granite because of the plastic gears. Because they do not off metal gears if I put a 3s in it that day I have to have a back up set of gears. And then the tie rods for the arms re crap. Had to modify by screwing the it and putting a screw and bolt. They are nice trucks but nothing close to traxxas. But then again #yougetwhatyoupayfor and that’s just the honest truth. I can see only imagine the parts this guy flew thru making this vid with a 4x4 from arrma. No disrespect intended once so ever but if you want a bash, a true bash with a tough vehicle we’ll put together traxxas is the top of the list for a reason and that is the truth.
Cheers for stopping by dude...To answer your question on the 'parts flew thru making this vid'..... 1 x bottom arm which cost less than $10 to replace 😉👍The Traxxas Slash is a strong truck from what I've heard, but no more than this....and at around $100 more, the Slash has nothing more to offer than this new BLX Senton.
You must have the old 2wd Granite ? The new 4x4 Granite blx can handle 3s all day . I run 3s in all my blx platform Rc"s and haven't Broken one part via drivetrain .
I jumped mine 30 feet today and it looks squatted now I fit 3 fingers in the front but fit 2 in the back is that normal
