Just want to clarify something. According to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's report, which the medical examiner himself tuned down after receiving threats to his career from the DA's office (the threats came out accidentally from another unrelated lawsuit involving the DA's office), (1) George Floyd did not die of asphyxiation, (2) at the time of his death, George Floyd had fatal level of fentanyl in his blood. (3) George Floyd died of cardiac arrest, which could come from any number of circumstances including his deadly fentanyl level and the physical stress from his resistance to arrest. The jury completely ignored this evidence and Derek Chauvin would never have received a fair trial in Hennepin County.

But the whole qorld saw the knee on his neck!! I find this very surprising .... how can anyone reject the clear video evidence?? Fentanyl etc. may have contributed, but now to wipe that incident away?? That's a repeat inhuman offence! It's sad that the state allows murder ti be settled by dollars .. that's such moral bankruptcy!! I feel right vs wrong is being beaten from all sides!

This discussion of bright eloquent honest people of a tiny ray of hope. Professor Derschowitz, I admire your sharp logic. You render the situation very accurately, in Israel and in the world at large. I just don’t see how you arrive at the conclusion, on the basis of your own rendering, that the two state solution is an option. Unless you mean two Jewish states, one for realists and the other one for people who believe in two states.

I was an engineering major in college in the early-mid '80s and I took American Politics as a liberal arts concentration. One of my professors was right-leaning (mentioned he worked on Barry Goldwater's campaign), while another was sort of a 60s liberal. I remember in the liberal guy's course on the legislative process we actually did 1-on-1 debates in the television studio on campus so that we could be filmed while debating. I distinctly remember him displaying a sense of pride in watching students present good arguments even if they were conservative. That seems pretty much absent from college campuses nowadays. 😢

Berg’s argument misses the point. There’s a difference between: I) claiming the moral high ground based on an immutable ideological position , or on a particular status or characteristic you ascribe to yourself (such as that of victim, one’s membership in a specific racial or ethnic group or economic class) and then using that as a justification for refusing to hear or empathize with the arguments or positions of your opponents or even or for denying the very legitimacy of such opponents (as many university student and leftist groups seem to be doing); and 2) considering your opponent’s arguments and disagreeing with them. as Dershowitz is appropriately doing here.

Yes, assuming you and your co-ideologues in your litany of agreements are truly on the same side is a mistake, as you have just learned about BLM. This might cause you to re-examine those other assumptions. What you might believe within your moral parameters regarding all those issues are far from where those at the vanguard of them might fall. Please reconsider.

Wonderful seminar with surprising twist re Qatar. Unlike what it may sound, "Antisemitism" = RACISM. It's not racism agains the decisive majority of Semites (Arabs and Ethiopians), but against the inextricably related: Jews, Israel, Zionism (JIZ). "Antisemitism" was Hitler's pseudo scientific, sophisticated-sounding idiotic term from a BS "Aryan-Semitic Race Theory" (ASRT) which didn't mean anything when in 1943 Hitler and al Husseini created a "bi-racial" Waffen SS Handchar (Arab Sword) Division. ASRT or CRT, "Antisemitism" is pathological envy, fear, hate and genocidal rage. Sure, it can be directed at any group, precisely because it's pathological.BTW, Asra Nomani's "Woke Army" is a great addition to this seminar!!
When the dust settle after Hamas is defeated and remains settled for a while, after Normalization Peace with Saudi, perhaps Kedar's "Palestinian Emirates Plan" could be explored and carefully implemented.

Anti jewish rise comes from in part from a voice that he himself has been a part of for decades. His indifference towards the Palestinians has shown itself in his arguements in years gone by. He has been an expert to what is all wrong with the Palestinians. Dershowitz needs to be balanced in his approach and not so one sided that it tips the cup over. Dershowitz love to play on words rather than facts. There has been a reluctance to establish the following:
    1. Genocide towards Palestinians
    2. Israel comitting crimes against humanity.
    3. That the Palestinians are living in an open air prison.
    4. That political jewish/zionist have saught to demonize the Palestinians.
    5. Apartheid state
    6. That this was an attack on isrrael based on a sufficating systemic dehumanizing methodology conducted by the Israeli government.
    Etc...
Dershowitz unfortunately has become he himself complicit in this conflict by his continuous legal contribution to the israel government. He supports the dehumanizing efforts in application by the 🇮🇱 government and he supports his theories of what is occurring by speaking half truths.
