I really appreciate your reasoning to not call this a review but a first impressions video. Sadly most channels rush out a video and act like they now everything about the product already and you taking a step back and talking about the circumstances under which you conducted your testing is really something to appreciate. First video I saw of your channel but you already earned my like and sub 👍
I'm glad to hear you and others say that. It was a tight turnaround time and I got to there point where I just wasn't happy with video. Feels good to know people appreciate quality over speed.
I’m am a pro illustrator and this is the “review” I’ve been looking for. All the other tech reviewers don’t use iPads day to day for work so their reactions towards it are odd. Of course they’re miffed by the new Pros power because they don’t use it. I usually do 3000px and run all the way up to 54 max layers in procreate on my 2020 Pro. So the new The pencil as well. I’m stoked to get mine! Thanks for the first impression!
100% agree and I’m in the same situation as you, but coming from a 2018 pro. New Pro is nice but it’s hard to justify the 500$ bump to get 16gb of ram. And then when I’m comparing the air and pro 13” 8gb models the 13” air seems like a better deal than the Pro!? Am I crazy?
I always think most owners of an iPad Pro are only using max 5% of the possibilities. I'm using it for private and work and I probably use 75% if not more of what's possible with an iPad. My old 1TB 2020 iPad Pro is 90% full. Only 100gB free space so ordered the 2TB now 😂 My iPad Pro also replaced my 27" iMac long time ago and only because of astrophotography I'm thinking of buying a desktop again. The iPad Pro is very well capable of editing stacked astrophotos/fits files, but the software is not available yet for the iPad. Stacking 300-500 separate 49mb photos will never come to the iPad, but editing already stacked fits files should absolutely be possible. I would definately pay for such an app if that would mean I could 'live' iPad Pro only again 👍
I am interested in the layer difference between 8GB Ram, 16GB Ram and if you get any more layers. The pro pencil is also interesting with the new features, especially the barrel roll feature.
Procreate's website mention that RAM determines the amount of layers. My iPad Pro 12.9 gen 3 (2018) 64gb model gave me 27 layers at 5100x3300 at 300dpi. The 64gb model only had 4gb of ram in it but I've used an iPad with double the ram, 8gb, and that gave me 54 layers, exactly double the amount of layers. I don't know if M1-M4 changes up that logic at all as I don't have one, but I'm guessing from the 8gb to 16gb, that would double up again giving 108 layers. Would be really interested to hear from him about this topic as I'm preparing to purchase one or the other.
I am very interested to know if the 16GB 1TB version is worth it for the layers! This is pretty much what killed Procreate for me (I am running first gen, 2GB) and I switched over to CSP because it will give me unlimited layers… but after I hit a certain number it starts tanking because of my ram.
@@danacraft-parker104 I have CSP for my IPad but I am noticing lag from the get go and I have a M1 128GB. So sticking with Procreate for now. I am dabbling a bit with Fresco as well but Fresco needs to add a few more features before I switch.
For box modelling, I'm enjoying Valence 3D. I hear there's another box modeller coming but I can't now remember it's name.. EDIT: oh, it's Uniform, maybe this is where I heard about it :D ua-cam.com/video/o_8QhuhD0yo/v-deo.html - as acually complete model, sculpt, paint... portable asset creation
Request: As one (like you) who uses the Galaxy Tab Ultra and Clip Studio Paint, I was wondering how heavy 3D models in CSP perform on the M4. It’s the only use case that would make me switch to the M4, if that massive power can be used for CSP art. It’s an area that no art reviewer has covered well, and people are using 3D models more and more in CSP. You could just try the biggest model already included in CSP, it may be the “3D classroom”. GREAT channel, btw. 😊
@thebradcolbow If you fall down the 3D rabbit hole, I'd also suggest Cozy Blanket. It isn't cheap, but it is a really good retopology and UV unwrapping app. Other than animation, most of my 3D workflow has been replaced with my iPad.
@@thebradcolbow Nomad is ok but compared to Blender or ZBrush it just isn't there which is why I am really looking forward to Zbrush on iPad. And I hate Zbrush UI.
Very interesting. Really keen to know how the new Air is for art and comic creation as well as Final Cut on the new iPads. Thinking of getting my first iPad in over a decade but I don’t think I can justify the cost of the Pro models as I’m more hobbyist now.
Well, the Air appears to be like something in between the last Air model and the last Pro model. The processing power has been more than sufficient for years now, I think it’s hard to reach the limits, except if sou work with very large canvasses. I‘m mostly a hobbyist now, too, and my old iPad Pro sadly seems to reach the end of its life soon after 7 years, so I am too thinking about how to get a good but affordable replacement. A refurbished 2021 Pro or a a new Air both seem like good choices to me. Probably a new Air because it will last longer.
I do art for living so I might consider an new iPad as well tho mine is 2018 A12 pro usually I would wait a good 7-8 years but the Air looks pretty tempting especially for that M2 chip
Interested in knowing what the drawing feel will be like using a Paperlike screen protector and what impact that has on the OLED displays resolution. Also, how well will the squeeze feature work when you apply a silicone grip to the Apple Pencil Pro.
The biggest problem with early reviews is that apps aren’t optimized or even ready for the new architecture inside. I remember getting my M1 iPad Pro on launch. And because none of the apps recognized the specifics of the M1 so it all defaulted to think it’s an iPad running on an A12 chip with 3gb of RAM. It took about a month to recognise the chip, and about 6 months for the 16gb of RAM models to give access to more of that RAM. I’m gonna wait a few weeks at least for the M4. If you have multiple page files in Procreate in high res, or busy animatics above 720p, I can still reach the layer limits. And Callipeg chugs when I make longer (10seconds) 4k animation with a lot of layers.
Nomad Sculpt is probably the most developed 3d software on the iPad. Valence 3d is another newcomer and I would say it’s the best yet though it focuses on modeling
They are two different disciplines, but yeah I'm liking Valence 3D. I hear there's another one coming... but I can't recall the name :D EDIT: oh, it's Uniform, maybe this is where I heard about it :D ua-cam.com/video/o_8QhuhD0yo/v-deo.html - as acually complete model, sculpt, paint... portable asset creation
@@bovineox1111 yeah I heard about Uniform. It seems pretty complex or perhaps untraditional. So far I’ve found Valence to be the most user friendly but that might be because I’ve mostly watched blender tutorials and those mostly focused on modeling over sculpting
@@chidorirasenganz Uniform is made by the guy who single handily changed the blender sculpting landscape, but his other app (cozy blanket) has been neglected for quite some time. I'm not sure if uniform will have the updates that the other softwares will have.
@@synthdream Uniform is their current project so I am sure it will be getting ongoing updates but Cozy Blanket has still been getting updates. It received a 2.0 update last year and has received two updates this year including one five days ago. So I wouldn’t say it’s abandoned
I find it interesting how apple promotes how long they support their products, but then make new software and peripherals inconvenient or obsolete in a year or two. Samsung released the creator edition S pen that still worked on previous tablets, if the galaxy tab had all the same apps, the choice would be a no brainer.
I mean my 2018 iPad Pro is still receiving updates and features and will get updates for a few more years. Meanwhile the Tab S6 released in 2019 stopped receiving Android updates last year even though the hardware is capable.
I have a galaxy tab, and the software support is the worst. My s22 has great software support, but the galaxy tab? I regret buying it every single day!!
I increasingly regret opting for the 11-inch M4 with 256GB, yet I recall the cumbersome feel of the 1st gen 12.9-inch model. Currently, I own the 1st gen 11-inch, and I've been enjoying it since its initial release.
Been using a 11" iPad Pro since 2019 and while I've come to appreciate the portability, the screen size always left me something to be desired, specially on programs with complex UIs. I've seen the larger model (the one I'd replace mine with, size wise) and it's a compromise between portability and screen size I'll need to ponder about. I admit I have a Goldilocks problem with tablet dimensions.
Oh man that’s awesome. So excited you got early hands on! That Apple Pencil pro! Excited to see how it’s implemented in other apps. This new iPad should be amazing for 3D Modeling apps!
Can not wait for Zbrush but very happy on Nomad now that it has remesher. I haven’t worked in ZBrush on my PC in months just because it so much more accesible vía iPad to noodle around.
At first I was so excited to this the new iPad Pro but after using it for a while, unfortunately it doesn’t change how I draw on Procreate, at least for now. 2022 mini LED still works just fine and great
the iPad Air M2 12.9 and iPad Pro M2 12.9 are the same, but the new air has the new Apple Pencil Pro, but the old pro has better refresh rate😭 idk with one to get, here in Germany they r priced the same.
@@thebradcolbow _i am looking forward to this too. iPad Pro M4 is overpriced for me so iPad Air M2 would be a perfect choice if the 60Hz refresh rate doesn't ruin the drawing experience much_
As a full time concept artist working in procreate daily on a 2018 pro 12.9” who’s ready to upgrade, what do you recommend between the M2 13” Air and the M4 13” Pro? I just tried both quickly at the Apple Store and honestly they feel the same?!? Feels like the Air is a better product for a Procreate user. Thoughts? Thx
_could you tell me the particular point that made you think M2 Air is a better product for a Procreate user? Since i couldn't afford an M4 Pro so i am in the dilemma of chosing M2 Air or M2 Pro_
First I suggest you go to the Apple Store to test them out. But my thinking is this. With the Air, you’re losing the 120 refresh rate, which isn’t that bad in Procreate, you’re losing the Oled display, which didn’t feel that much better in person, and anyways I use Paperlike on my screen so I probably won’t profit that much from the Oled. And you get a M2 vs a M4. Since I mostly use the iPad for Procreate I don’t think it’s a big downgrade. Also, they both feel very similar in hand in size and weight, both have 13”, Pencil pro, and the M2 processor is pretty good too. So I guess it comes down to what is your budget. The biggest advance the M4 has I think is longevity. I just got the M4 and will test it out to see if it’s worth it.
@@philippelefebvre7645 _tks bro. I also use iPad just for Procreate and other drawing apps. So relieved hearing that 60Hz refresh rate isn't that bad in Procreate. Besides, the pencil pro is an important point that inclines me to choose the M2 Air over the M2 Pro_
Hey Brad - I might end up having to walk back on my comments about “not getting Nano texture” in my iPad review - after watching numerous artist reviews about it, I decided to pass by the Apple Store today and test it out It’s not rough and resistant like a Paperlike but it’s a very pleasant experience - smooth and matte - I placed my order today - shipping between the 18th and 25th of June
The only reason why it’s limited to the M4 Pro and M2 Air is because them moving the FaceTime camera to the side, they had to move the induction magnets slightly enough to mess with how it charges, so the magnets don’t line up anymore.
Its been a while since they released a new pencil, of course they gonna make it only work for the new Air and Pro due to the location of the magnets because of the new landscape camera. Just like they did back in 2018 with the 2nd gen Apple Pencil, gatekeeping the 2nd and 1st gen iPad Pros. Also yeah, the Air is a better deal if you dont care about the OLED and 120hz.
So 13 inch still considered comfortable to draw on without table? I thought the sweet spot of tablet to replace sketch book is 11 inch. Bigger than that it will turn into "laptop" size where we need table to draw on. Still hold on my air 3 and pencil 1....hope they update the ipad os so the app can be more desktop like app.
Respect your reasoning for not calling it a review. It’s interesting to see it being put through its paces by you - someone who actually uses the Apple Pencil Pro and the iPad Pro in a completely different way to me.
Do you accidentally squeeze the pencil? Or you can hold it like normal. That’s why I don’t know how I feel about that. I usually hold the pencil tight sometimes
I'm an iPad Pro 12.9 M1 user, your review was one of deciding factor to buy it and I have been daily driving it for 2 years for digital art. I really really love it, but I don't see any worthy upgrade on this new M4. Even M1 is already more than what I need, not to mention the extra $200 price increase is major turn off. I doubt I will be using the extra pencil feature, as I'm just using a separate keyboard just like I do digital art on PC.
Hey Brad, does the new Apple Pencil have the same features on both the new iPad Pro and new iPad Air? I’d love if you covered that in your review video.
id really love to see a review of that new texture coating option!!! I'm not sure if it would be better than having a paperlike on, since you dont have to deal with bubbling and stuff, but you have a nice permanent, better colour accurate textured screen. but I'm scared of getting it and realising its actually really bad or something and then not be able to put a paperlike on bc it would ruin the colours too much
So I've been into the Apple store to try this theory out, DON'T buy the nano texture option if you are looking for a different drawing experience, there is no difference (or very very little, I didn't notice anything) in the drawing experience with the Pencil Pro. Only opt for the nano-texture if you want to reduce glare on the screen, it does not change how the Pencil interacts with the display. I'd recommend going into a local Apple store if you have to to see what I mean. :)
How much memory is there on the iPad Pro you're testing? If it's 512 GB or less, it has 8 G of RAM, if it's 1 TB or more, it has 16 G of Ram. So when you say it has plenty of memory, I'm wondering which model you're using.
Thank you so much for this! Nobody online has said this!! I didn’t think it was worth upgrading to the 1TB but for extra RAM it is!! I was ready to buy it and now I have to research again 😂😂😂 thank you for this comment though
I'm interesting and curious about using the nano screen with drawings and how it will be overtime. I'll leave you my questions in case you could look into it on the review. Do we still need a textured screen film/protector on those screen for better drawing controls? Will the colors dim too much on the nano choice with paper textured screen film on top? dim more than the glass and film on top? will it be more cost saving using a normal glass choice with textured screen film/protector, which one is a best choice to go? Thank you for all your videos and reviews Brad, many of them helped me picked my first Ipad nearly two years ago. I'm currently using M1 Ipad pro. And also all of it helped me answers my students and fellow artist friends questions about the tools🥰

Thank you for sharing your opinion of the device so far. I always appreciate the honesty and delivery of the information. I'm looking forward to the full review when it comes out.
Hoping that they eventually bring pencil pro support to a new iPad mini. I’m mostly interested in the barrel rotation since that’s a feature that for the most part you could only get on older wacom tablets and it’s kinda fun to mess around with.
I'm gonna be curious to see if the squeeze function and roll will be able to have any functionality in SideCar when using it with a Mac. I use SideCar to sculpt in Blender and it'd be great to be able to bring up a brush menu in Blender by squeezing.
The old Magic Keyboard actually had a pretty incredible trackpad design that let you click anywhere even though it was a physical mechanism. I actually really like the feel of it, I’m not sure a haptic trackpad would feel better, but the bigger size is a huge plus!
How warm does it get when you're drawing for long periods? I work with big files with lots of layers in procreate and my m1 pro gets really hot sometimes.
Brad, would it be possible for you to make a quick test in Procreate (of course if you have older ipads with you) - create a document in size of A4 300dpi and tell us, how many layers can be made inside that document, depending on the iPad? I need to upgrade my 2018 model as I only get around 60 layers but I wonder how much more I can get in those new models
I have the iPad 12.9 inch 5th gen I use it all the time on the couch. And my bf likes watching live streams on it when he wants to use the TV for something else. I bet you the thinness makes it feel alot more like you're drawing on a sketchpad. But for drawing if you're intimidated by size, I'd say 11 inch would be more than enough for most people
Hi, sorry, I'm not Brad, but I think it might be helpful for you. I've heard that the barrel rotation can't work with old procreate brushes, so you just need to go to the settings of a needed brush and click the Roll button to set it up Hope that's not just a rumour and I somehow helped you🥺
@blackie_72958 Thank you for your answer friend, but I already checked out this. Some people are using the Beta version of Procreate with this feature, but it's not avaible for the regular version yet. We need to wait for the update.
Does the new ipad support more layers or is that entirely based on RAM? I have the 2021 Ipad Pro with 8GB RAM, my art that I make to sell as digital prints (10800px × 7200px 300DPI) supports 9 layers so Im hoping to up that number to at least 18.
Thanks for the first impressions video. If you're trying out some 3D and animation apps, I wonder if there is a noticeable difference in performance or rendering quality between the M2 Air and M4 Pro? Likewise with drawing apps with more complex brushes (like Fresco water colour).
Really like your take on these things. Probably because i'm buying it to draw, and you are just phenomenal at talking about those things. I think i'm keen on understanding the main benefits of squeeze and barrel features. As i'm afraid i'll turn it off due to muscle memory pressing and tilting the pen without even intending to do so. Another thing that i was wondering about is the "nano texture", as i'm expecting that to look like a "paperlike protector" would after drawing on it for 6-12 months. But that it would actually scratch after 5 minutes of use or "pressing to hard with the pen. Another thing about the nano texture, In terms of "distortion" of colors and sharpness, how is it different from a paperlike-protector? I would assume it is a massive difference as they are not intended for the same type of use, but still curious. Thanks for the content!
The nano texture is like a glass screen protector, its gonna be hella slippy which is amazing but at the cost of quality, but when its your workhorse you eventually don’t care and it helps with eye strain.
Device looks funny, for that price I think you're better off with an iPad or Samsung tab instead imo. Doesn't help the fact that for the looks of it, the Movink13 has small bezels. Terrible for drawing ergonomics if you ask me.
@@Jerry_quesoso I'm looking for something portable I.can hook up to my laptop. There are some other options but at the end of the day Inreally.like Wacom's pen 2 feel, so I'm really curious.
Hi, on the review I wish to see a critique to barrel roll feature please. I mean if you look at 8:08 when you preview it, when rolling the pen it does produce a weird effect, it looks like rays of a sun or petals of a flower, but is absolutely not the effect that a real brush would archive making the same action, it would provide a compact circular thick line shape. I subscribed to check your review thx!
Add into your review your comparison to Samsung S9 and which one do you prefer? And is it powerful enough to run unused Photoshop illustrator?, I also I have forgotten the name of the program but there is a 3-D program where you draw your shapes and the program automatically generates the 3-D version of that shape. If you could find and test that program out that would be great and beneficial I think it's a product design app.
How does the system handle max brightness while running programs indoors or outdoors? My M1 from 2021 tends to get really hot, while it works 100% regardless, I wonder if the system cooling is better.
I'm a windows and Android person, I do not like Apple. For anything. But it's always nice to see what they're doing well. the pencil and the dual OLED seem intriguing. I don't see myself using a tablet that fails if bent at the charging port though, as per JerryRigEverything, even if that'd be an abnormal scenario for anything to be put through, it does make it decidedly more fragile.
I want to ensure whether you have a different experience when drawing on 8GB compared to 16GB? I am asking, because there is differences in performance between M4 chips.
Thanks for the video, love it. One question, you don't use Clip Studio Paint for any specific reason? Would love to see a review of the new ipad, the new apple pencil pro and CSP. Thanks
I really want to know which one is better ipad 4m or Samsung s9 for art college students that going to learn design on different app and programs drawing and animations 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Have you noticed an improvement in the wavey diagonal lines problem of drawing on ipad pros (especially with slower hand speed) compared to the previous ipad pro?
unless something like substantially higher resolution comes along for ipad pro. ill gladly stick with my 5th gen pro. other than that i could easily see myself using mine for another 5 years using procreate. im doing 6k x 9k canvases with no issues whatsoever.
Some has been made about the huge screen response time increase between the new OLED and mini LED in the previous gens. Was this noticeable? Also, do you ever deal with eye strain or headaches from prolonged use of iPad? Was this any different?
Wonder if you are using a beta procreate app, cause the public version does not fully support the pencil pro, palm rejection and initial curves are NOT working nicely yet
Would you say the squeezing thing to bring up menus and such is reliable consistently for people with varying grips on the pencil? Unlike a button, the placement would be a bit less specific I guess though idk how big the area is where it still registers it.
Hi, I am curious, will you review for ipad air m2 ? I want to change my ipad 8th. Not sure which ipad should i buy. Ipad air m2 + pencil pro or ipad pro 2022 with old gen 2? Is the new pencil really killing it ?
As someone that want to do concept art and illustration, and will be using it for some multitasking for college do you think the 8 gb and 512 storage is good enough or will the 16gb be a better choice? Thanks!
Hey Brad! I was wondering if you could go over the heat/thermals of the new iPad in your review. I notice on my M2 iPad Pro that at times you could feel the heat after drawing for a while and it gets a little uncomfortable. I was wondering if they improved on that for the M4 iPad! Thanks!
great....onething that i'm really curious about new ipad pro M4 series is the OLED screen, are this screen wil have issue on burn in effect in a future?
No one can answer that, but burn in later is very unlikely. Still possible, but to my knowledge OLED phones aren't getting burn in, so should be same thing here.
Thank you for the *NOT* review! I'm still using the older iPad Pro 10.9 gen 3 and am seriously thinking about changing up. Although it does meet my needs to a point, it's starting to show it's age. Layer limits, a bit of lag and a bit more crashing than I would prefer. More being any crashing while drawing. I will be looking forward to your review in a bit! Have fun with the iPad and let's see what your end opinion is. Cheers!
I would like to see you drawing on the iPad Pro when it's attached to the Magic keyboard? I'm used to draw on the iPad in the keyboard folio to which it's firmly attached. Wondering if I can still draw on it when it's attached to the Magic keyboard?
My biggest question is why get the pro over the air. The M2 is more than capable and it's a few undred dollars cheaper. Is the screen really a big deal? I have the 2018 ipad pro and want to upgrade and I thougtht the scree was already great, OLED is just meh as an upgrade imo.
Your screen is 120hz IPS. Air is 60hz IPS. Pro is 120hz OLED. You can't go back to 60hz. It's horrible. And IPS -> OLED HDR is the biggest upgrade any device can have. New Air models are a total joke.

@@thebradcolbowplz do! I use Nomad to make 3D models and it's so easy and fun 🥰
Same… sitting back and waiting for the world to catch up a bit before ordering.
Nomad Sculpt is probably the most developed 3d software on the iPad. Valence 3d is another newcomer and I would say it’s the best yet though it focuses on modeling
They are two different disciplines, but yeah I'm liking Valence 3D. I hear there's another one coming... but I can't recall the name :D
EDIT: oh, it's Uniform, maybe this is where I heard about it :D ua-cam.com/video/o_8QhuhD0yo/v-deo.html - as acually complete model, sculpt, paint... portable asset creation
Speaking as a Samsung fanboy, the s pen is very old wacom tech. There's a reason why wacom pro pen doesn't work on samsung and spen adjacent tech.
Apple is just ridiculously overpriced and the fact that they charge $1300 for a tablet with 8gb ram in 2024 is just beyond greed
youre bringing up how the software becomes obsolete then you bring up samsung which has a 1 year software support
It’s such a hard decision.
I need to get into 3d iPad apps. I don't know much, it's a blind spot for me.
Can not wait for Zbrush but very happy on Nomad now that it has remesher. I haven’t worked in ZBrush on my PC in months just because it so much more accesible vía iPad to noodle around.

I’m curious to know the difference in the drawing experience between the 13 inch iPad Air and M4 iPad Pro
me too
At first I was so excited to this the new iPad Pro but after using it for a while, unfortunately it doesn’t change how I draw on Procreate, at least for now.
2022 mini LED still works just fine and great
the iPad Air M2 12.9 and iPad Pro M2 12.9 are the same, but the new air has the new Apple Pencil Pro, but the old pro has better refresh rate😭 idk with one to get, here in Germany they r priced the same.
Will you make a video on how it feels to draw on the new ipad air?
Yes!
@@thebradcolbow Yay! ☺
Do you have unintentional squeezes with apple pencil pro?
Nope. At least I haven't
Thank you - I think you are the first person to show what it looks like closed with the magic keyboard - even Apple has been avoiding that!
Hey Brad - I might end up having to walk back on my comments about “not getting Nano texture” in my iPad review - after watching numerous artist reviews about it, I decided to pass by the Apple Store today and test it out
It’s not rough and resistant like a Paperlike but it’s a very pleasant experience - smooth and matte - I placed my order today - shipping between the 18th and 25th of June
The pencil pro being gatekept to the M4 is one of the worst decisions they’ve made. It’s basically a 1200-2000 dollar pencil
Well you need the hardware for all the new functions to work. Also you can buy the air for 600
it isn’t gatekeeper to the m4. You can use it on the air iPad m2. Please stop yapping.
You can use it on the M2 Air
So 13 inch still considered comfortable to draw on without table? I thought the sweet spot of tablet to replace sketch book is 11 inch. Bigger than that it will turn into "laptop" size where we need table to draw on. Still hold on my air 3 and pencil 1....hope they update the ipad os so the app can be more desktop like app.
Respect your reasoning for not calling it a review. It’s interesting to see it being put through its paces by you - someone who actually uses the Apple Pencil Pro and the iPad Pro in a completely different way to me.
I use my M1 Pro for drawing and youtube mostly. Don't really need to upgrade even tho the new pen is dope. Im hoping for an updated ipad mini tho
Penicl spin looks really useful. Squeeze menu too. Everything else just looks like a spec bump. Not sure if it's worth the price.
Is it worth upgrading from 2020 ipad pro? My csp kept saying low memory
0:08 just listening. I will ignore your negatives.❤ My magical thinking has taken over.
@@reubengecko that's so helpful!! thank you!!
+1 for an iPad Mini Pro. OLED screen, M? processor, and I would like to see a high end camera system like the iPhone Pro. 🎥

How do you feel about the iPad Pro 11, vs the tab s9 for art?
Hmm, I hadn't thought of that. It's implemented on an app by app basis right now. If sidecar supported it in theory a desktop app could as well.
Hey Brad, because of you, I bought my first iPad. I’d like to say thank you for introducing me to that experience.
I bought my first iPad a few years ago
The old Magic Keyboard actually had a pretty incredible trackpad design that let you click anywhere even though it was a physical mechanism. I actually really like the feel of it, I’m not sure a haptic trackpad would feel better, but the bigger size is a huge plus!
How warm does it get when you're drawing for long periods? I work with big files with lots of layers in procreate and my m1 pro gets really hot sometimes.
_please review drawing on iPad Air 13 please. Would 60Hz display be a big drawback in terms of drawing on iPad Air?_
Is it better for drawing and making comics than the Samsung tab s9 ultra?
Brad, would it be possible for you to make a quick test in Procreate (of course if you have older ipads with you) - create a document in size of A4 300dpi and tell us, how many layers can be made inside that document, depending on the iPad? I need to upgrade my 2018 model as I only get around 60 layers but I wonder how much more I can get in those new models
How is the 13” for drawing on a couch, handheld vs on a desk or flat surface? Does the thinness and lightness make it easy to use in this situation?
I have the iPad 12.9 inch 5th gen
I use it all the time on the couch. And my bf likes watching live streams on it when he wants to use the TV for something else. I bet you the thinness makes it feel alot more like you're drawing on a sketchpad. But for drawing if you're intimidated by size, I'd say 11 inch would be more than enough for most people
Hope you can full review on working with it. Every video I watch just talk about thickness and how beautiful is. Good videos Man
I like your review brad. From an artist perspective and not from a tech guy who says about its performance.
Hey Brad, on 8:09 you're mention barrel rotation. Is that Procreate you're using? I can't find a way to use this feature. Any tips?
Hi, sorry, I'm not Brad, but I think it might be helpful for you. I've heard that the barrel rotation can't work with old procreate brushes, so you just need to go to the settings of a needed brush and click the Roll button to set it up
Hope that's not just a rumour and I somehow helped you🥺
@blackie_72958 Thank you for your answer friend, but I already checked out this.
I just checked on my 2021 iPad Pro 1Tb with 16gb Ram with the canvas (10800px × 7200px 300DPI) and I get 20 layers in Procreate if that helps?
Great job Brad!!!
Thanks Sagi!!
The nano texture is like a glass screen protector, its gonna be hella slippy which is amazing but at the cost of quality, but when its your workhorse you eventually don’t care and it helps with eye strain.
could we possibly also get a review for the iPad Air 13'?
Looking forward to your opinions and thoughts on the Movink 13
That review is done I'm just waiting on the dang sponsor to approve it grrrr (I'm not really mad... well maybe a little. haha)

Will there be a review about the ipad air 6? Also can you please review the dell inspiron 16 7530 2 in 1?
2:30 thank you for the less glossy comment. good to know the regular one is less reflective
I would really like a comparison between the new iPad Pro 13” and the new iPad Air 13”. Is there really that much difference?
Do you prefer to draw with ipad 11" or 13"?
ipad pro is crazy expensive on me is ipad air 6 worth buying considering i'm a beginner?
The trackpad on the old Magic Keyboard wasn’t a diving board design as you can click anywhere on the trackpad. It still wasn’t haptic though
Love your videos. You make the best reviews for artists. And you make it without useless numbers :3
What's the largest canvas you can make in procreate? I design 10m long backdrops and 25m roofs. The larger the better in my case
Which cover is the slim one at the beginning of the video where you take it off the Magic Keyboard and place it on there to keep it protected?
The thing I'm most surprised/happy about is Zbrush coming to ipad, very cool and exciting
In your opinion is 8gb ram enough with this M4 chip?
As someone that want to do concept art and illustration, and will be using it for some multitasking for college do you think the 8 gb and 512 storage is good enough or will the 16gb be a better choice? Thanks!
Yeah, buddy! Enjoy that! Mine is the 5th gen. and is my work horse.
How many layers were you able to use in 4000x 6000 pixels ?
First impressions stick. Always happy to listen.
Makes absaolutel sense to use this iPad with the new Apple Pencil Pro! Amazing content, as always! Thanks, teacher!
Cheers!
Will previous iPad Pro cases work with the M4 iPad?
Glad I am not the only person who wants an iPad mini Pro 👍💪💪
