This show was amazing, in my opinion is the best terminator after terminator 1 and 2, because this one explain too many things, that other movies don't. I wish this show will came back

This was probably one of the saddest, yet satisfying endings this show could've had. Both emotionally and story. I was so disappointed to hear they canceled the show; but at the same time, I'm happy they were able to finish it out right. I think it did the show justice. For the short but sweet lifespan that it had.

Intelligent shows almost never do well. TSCC got shafted, first they moved it to Friday then canceled it after two seasons. It was better than every T movie after T2.

when Summer Glau stepped into the scene it couldn't have been a more perfect setup for season 3. of all the tv series cut short by the studios this one hurt the most. it's 2021 and I still binge watch the 2 seasons I have on dvd.
Seeing Kyle and John stare at each other, face to face feels so satifisying between both characters in general, even if Kyle has no clue to who John is at all, I think it's one scene all fans of the Terminator Franchise wanted to see in a long time. Also, yes, they do see each other in Salvation, but something about this one feels more authentic and powerful, I honestly love it.
I watched this drama 13 years ago, and 13 years later, I feel another impression while watching it again from the first to the last episode. Especially, the ending scene is one of the best scenes for me even after a long time. I can't forget the moment I listened to this song while watching the ending scene. And John's subtly changing expression as he looked at the girl in front of him made my heart broken.
Top-notch acting by Thomas Dekker in that last part. You see his expression flit between surprise, happiness and sadness as he realizes the Derek in front of him isn't really the Derek he knew, who is truly gone.
4:00 - 5:30 A great scene where no words are spoken yet we see how the characters react to one another and have the music make it even that much greater. Something many directors can take note of now days.
Such a great shame that TSCC was cancelled! It was a show that was born at such a difficult time in Hollywood! So much more great storytelling could have been made! Sadly it'll never return to TV but I'd buy a Season 3 comic book series or a graphic novel if it meant this could continue! Hasta la vista baby.
When he tells him about the jacket and then his father walks in the way John’s eyes light up and sparkle. The way Kyle walks and rather aggressively stares down at John but also with a bit familiarity. And Cameron her hair flailing and the sparkle in her eyes.. Combined with the music… Sarah’s “I love you too” travels across time. 🥲 I oddly still mourn this show yet am satisfied This scene got me emotional as hell right now. Also shout out to the T1001 it doesn’t even blink!! Sarah’s eyes when she says no. She looks worried and sad and almost scared concerned for him but she can’t go through it again. I like the movie T4 Salvation but there was no connection to John to Marcus to Bloodmoon. I just couldn’t quite connect despite me liking how they they look badass and are very tough. This crew here had me hooked from day one and I watched them grow. It hurt to say goodbye
This show worked so well on so many levels. My wife had not (and still hasn't) seen any of the movies. She loved the mama bear protecting her son at any cost aspect of the story. I loved the first two films and was part of the ready-made audience for the show. Hated that it was canceled but glad we had two seasons of exceptional TV.

Would be half possible to continue it still. Everyone being older could kinda work... But not as easily. John being older works with him being the rebel leader his world needs. An older Sarah could also still work. The rest, I'm less sure about.
The cycle continues..... I just rewatched this series and it makes so much sense, especially sense this John Connor knows so much and that he can actually win... faith and hope makes this John Connor the true messiah of the original Terminator series.. Also maybe he turned on Weaver and she went back to the T2 timeline and the Terminator is actually her and also probably the same Terminator from the boat scene with Jesse. She asked Cameron the same question future John asks the specific Terminator... He uses his knowledge that he learned in it his timeline as young John to help the resistance. Cameron taught him so much about Terminator bio and also the mental just by being around her... Maybe that was the plan between future John and Cameron and maybe something went wrong and the whole goal was to speed him up to par and bring along John faster to teach and help the resistance. A true Messiah in (The Terminator Universe) coming out of nowhere to be the so called savior. He then has to send Kyle Reese back in time to save his mother and also ensure his birth... maybe he told Kyle, maybe he didn’t. The only thing is did he ever find that picture because this young John couldn’t bring anything into the future so maybe he searched for his Mom and at some point came across it and that’s why he made sure to give it to Kyle Reese. With the guy playing John Connor 10 years aged would be perfect time to reboot this series dates year 2037...
Weaver is basically supposed to be a good (?) AI faction, fighting the Skynet AI faction... Definitely seems to be a more human inclined faction. And we got robbed of John's planned romance from Season 3, with human Cameron...
Its always the best shows that get cancelled... Regardless, they did a great job wrapping up the plot. Its a sad yet uplifting ending. Happy isnt the word i'd use but its damn close. Would have loved a third season. But this ending is alright too.
It partially got killed because DVR views didn't count at the time and too many people DVRed it... Of course, advertisers are paying for people who'll actually watch their ads. And people watching a recording likely will not.

This scene is touching on bonding level,I like how weaver was self aware and was actually fighting again skynet.. Wow did see that one coming. As for the ending,it makes me happy and sad. The show should have continued.

In my opinion instead of wasting so much money they should have had invest more time and money on the ..... i always liked this because in my mind, it set up skynet to be an even more ruthless villain than we thought. after having a timeline when the machine won, he would eventually then turn on the machines as well, so the machines decided to come back and help the humans make sure they won. It's such a delicate and wonderful additional twist to add to probably the most dangerous villain on movie history.
@@rc6115 nope, I am saying that in an alternate timeliness, after defeating humans, sky net turns on the machines. They now have to come back and help the humans win so their reality never happens. This provides added depth to its villainy, does that make more sense now?
Not difficult to believe that a dumb, first gen AI, with too much power would come into conflict with other AI. The whole "it nukes the planet 2 days after coming online" is just ridiculous stuff... Not what you'd expect from a well developed AI (also obviously a failure by the morons who built something so low quality)
I would've like more of this Terminator series with more episodes of this season, or a third season. With seeing more: Lena Headey as Sarah Connor, Summer Glau as Cameron, Thomas Dekker as John Connor, and Shirley Manson as Catherine Weaver, who were more interesting than other cast who've played their same characters.

It would be funny in a way that like SERENITY where Summer Glau was also part of and that series was ended in the movie FIREFLY that this TERMINATOR series be properly ended with a movie as well. THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES was more respectful to the source material and even more full of emotions than any of the recent pseudo reboots. The cast was very solid and granted that many would had loved to see Arnie's T-800, it managed to do very well with the many other Terminators and expand the lore. The T-1001 was a great expansion, and the fact that there were Terminators against SKYNET, if they had made a movie to end the entire series connecting everything full circle and made a more filled out ending perhaps there would had been more life to the franchise. One thing I like a lot in the RESISTANCE video game is that it clearly talks about alternate futures as well as TSCCs mentioning this and the such, which in a way perhaps legitimize that all the TERMINATOR films are accepted into the canon including the series, the issue then is to make a cohesive connection and explanation and then finally rectify the timeline and beat the machines once and for all. I think that if James Cameron would take this in consideration, and his supposed return to the franchise after the crapfest that TDF was to accept this and then work with it instead of going against it to create more damaged stuff he could do something great. Just like now George Lucas, Jon Favreu and Dave Filoni are working on Star Wars to fix all the garbage that was the SWs sequels.
Well, in Salvation, Kyle Reese is a teenager and John doesn't know him, while in TSCC he's an adult and John meets him. Salvation was written to be the sequel to T3, I see TSCC more as an alternative sequel to T2.
What bums me most (with much hindsight) about the cancellation, is that we didn't get to see the 'Catherine Weaver' arc develop. I found this character the most interesting and would've liked more backstory plus future development on 'her' (Unlike that unfortunate detour with the blonde acting as a distraction for John 🙄 everything about that plot was pathetic, including the acting)
Weaver is an interesting character. But she'd be more interesting as the main character of her own show. Since this, in the end, was about John and Sarah's story. Rebel Terminators, would definitely have been an interesting direction for the story.
What I love about the ending is that John Connor never existed in the alternate timeline but Skynet still happened and nuked the world poor John though Catherine could make herself a pare of clothes while John had to look for some LOL. Wish Time Travels was possible I'd go back and tell them to make at least four more seasons
There were plans that the show was going to take place in the future and I believe John would meet his older mom as well. Not sure if he was going to go back into the past, but anyway it didn't matter to the studios, Salvation was more important.

The saddest part of the ending of the show, is that Sarah is all alone, Charley is dead, Derek is dead John is in the future, Cameron is gone as well... The only person she can confine in with is James Ellison. John Connor is also alone, is now in the future with versions of his uncle Derek and his father Kyle, unable to confess to either of them who he really is, as they'd think he was either nuts or can't potentially risk changing the future of sending them back. Still wish we got a proper conclusion to the show.
There’s so many ways the show could have continued with this ending. I personally like to think since John jumped into the future thereby creating an alternate timeline where there is a resistance that is already established and doing just fine without him as opposed to being “that close to going out forever” as Kyle Reese said in the original movie… Sarah spent the rest of her life without him preparing in any way she can for his arrival at this very moment. It would have made great tv if John were to discover new audio/video recordings she made, as in the original movie, scattered around throughout his journey in the future with further plot points and/or revelations to help him, the Reese brothers & the resistance, Weaver & John Henry, and Cameron/Allison defeat Skynet once and for all.
I still can’t believe to this day that’s how they left that show it was so good and that ending had it all lined up to be an explosive season 3 without his mum there I totally saw him telling his dad and uncle the truth lol 😂

A decade later and this ending still warms my heart and brings a tear to my eye... especially when the voice boomed out "I Love You Too"

He uses his knowledge that he learned in it his timeline as young John to help the resistance. Cameron taught him so much about Terminator bio and also the mental just by being around her...
Maybe that was the plan between future John and Cameron and maybe something went wrong and the whole goal was to speed him up to par and bring along John faster to teach and help the resistance. A true Messiah in (The Terminator Universe) coming out of nowhere to be the so called savior.
He then has to send Kyle Reese back in time to save his mother and also ensure his birth... maybe he told Kyle, maybe he didn’t. The only thing is did he ever find that picture because this young John couldn’t bring anything into the future so maybe he searched for his Mom and at some point came across it and that’s why he made sure to give it to Kyle Reese.
With the guy playing John Connor 10 years aged would be perfect time to reboot this series dates year 2037...
Weaver is basically supposed to be a good (?) AI faction, fighting the Skynet AI faction... Definitely seems to be a more human inclined faction.
And we got robbed of John's planned romance from Season 3, with human Cameron...

Regardless, they did a great job wrapping up the plot. Its a sad yet uplifting ending. Happy isnt the word i'd use but its damn close. Would have loved a third season. But this ending is alright too.

It partially got killed because DVR views didn't count at the time and too many people DVRed it... Of course, advertisers are paying for people who'll actually watch their ads. And people watching a recording likely will not.

in intrigued in how the story turns out, with John Connor absent for 20 years because he traveled to the future. damn shame they left the story like this, there was so much build up for the future, this story got potential if they come back and continue it or at least make a novel out of it.
Unfortunately it came out on Fox which cancels just about every series they have after the second or third season. Had the show been on AMC, HBO, or even the CW it would've went all the way
John Connor was transported to the future and became the leader of the human resistance where he meets his father who will be sent back in time or John will never be. No wonder temporal mechanics gave Captain Janeway a migraine.

I never knew there was a Terminator Sarah Connor Chronicles until I saw the Garbage Terminator Dark Fate. In my opinion instead of wasting so much money they should have had invest more time and money on the ..... SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES were the best ever it related and stayed true to the Terminator legacy!! I wish there were somehow a way to bring it back!? Like a petition or something!! 😢
A remake would probably make more sense since everyone has aged and Lena would be extremely costly to bring back.

i always liked this because in my mind, it set up skynet to be an even more ruthless villain than we thought. after having a timeline when the machine won, he would eventually then turn on the machines as well, so the machines decided to come back and help the humans make sure they won. It's such a delicate and wonderful additional twist to add to probably the most dangerous villain on movie history.
@@rc6115 nope, I am saying that in an alternate timeliness, after defeating humans, sky net turns on the machines. They now have to come back and help the humans win so their reality never happens. This provides added depth to its villainy, does that make more sense now?
Not difficult to believe that a dumb, first gen AI, with too much power would come into conflict with other AI.
The whole "it nukes the planet 2 days after coming online" is just ridiculous stuff... Not what you'd expect from a well developed AI (also obviously a failure by the morons who built something so low quality)
A real shame the series was cancelled after 2 seasons. It ended before it's time.
Sad that Netflix wasn't a thing back then, or we could've tried to get them to save the show.
I would've like more of this Terminator series with more episodes of this season, or a third season. With seeing more: Lena Headey as Sarah Connor, Summer Glau as Cameron, Thomas Dekker as John Connor, and Shirley Manson as Catherine Weaver, who were more interesting than other cast who've played their same characters.

Cancellation
Following the announcement of the show's fate, fans have led numerous campaigns to revive the show ever since. Josh Friedman dismissed crowdfunding in March 2013 due to issues involving holder rights, according to IGN. A movie was also considered, as Thomas Dekker and producer James Middleton confirmed in interviews. Cinemablend chose Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles as one of the "12 Shows Fox Should Be Embarrassed About Canceling" in October 2015.
And just like that, John stayed in the future and became the general he was meant to be
It would be funny in a way that like SERENITY where Summer Glau was also part of and that series was ended in the movie FIREFLY that this TERMINATOR series be properly ended with a movie as well. THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES was more respectful to the source material and even more full of emotions than any of the recent pseudo reboots. The cast was very solid and granted that many would had loved to see Arnie's T-800, it managed to do very well with the many other Terminators and expand the lore. The T-1001 was a great expansion, and the fact that there were Terminators against SKYNET, if they had made a movie to end the entire series connecting everything full circle and made a more filled out ending perhaps there would had been more life to the franchise. One thing I like a lot in the RESISTANCE video game is that it clearly talks about alternate futures as well as TSCCs mentioning this and the such, which in a way perhaps legitimize that all the TERMINATOR films are accepted into the canon including the series, the issue then is to make a cohesive connection and explanation and then finally rectify the timeline and beat the machines once and for all. I think that if James Cameron would take this in consideration, and his supposed return to the franchise after the crapfest that TDF was to accept this and then work with it instead of going against it to create more damaged stuff he could do something great. Just like now George Lucas, Jon Favreu and Dave Filoni are working on Star Wars to fix all the garbage that was the SWs sequels.

Well, in Salvation, Kyle Reese is a teenager and John doesn't know him, while in TSCC he's an adult and John meets him. Salvation was written to be the sequel to T3, I see TSCC more as an alternative sequel to T2.
Rise of Machine is quite good also, but Genisys and Dark Fate are really awful

What bums me most (with much hindsight) about the cancellation, is that we didn't get to see the 'Catherine Weaver' arc develop. I found this character the most interesting and would've liked more backstory plus future development on 'her'
(Unlike that unfortunate detour with the blonde acting as a distraction for John 🙄 everything about that plot was pathetic, including the acting)
Weaver is an interesting character. But she'd be more interesting as the main character of her own show. Since this, in the end, was about John and Sarah's story.
Rebel Terminators, would definitely have been an interesting direction for the story.
The end of that plot was great though and one of the best episodes of the series. The final 2 convos with Jesse (John and then Derek) was excellent.
The T-1001 (Catherine Weaver) was awesome
What I love about the ending is that John Connor never existed in the alternate timeline but Skynet still happened and nuked the world poor John though Catherine could make herself a pare of clothes while John had to look for some LOL. Wish Time Travels was possible I'd go back and tell them to make at least four more seasons

There were plans that the show was going to take place in the future and I believe John would meet his older mom as well. Not sure if he was going to go back into the past, but anyway it didn't matter to the studios, Salvation was more important.
Fahid Hussain Yeah it was gonna be a direct-to-DVD movie. No, after 3 failed attempts in the theaters, I think there is reason enough to give SCC a proper finale. It was easily the best continuation from T2.

The saddest part of the ending of the show, is that Sarah is all alone, Charley is dead, Derek is dead John is in the future, Cameron is gone as well... The only person she can confine in with is James Ellison.
John Connor is also alone, is now in the future with versions of his uncle Derek and his father Kyle, unable to confess to either of them who he really is, as they'd think he was either nuts or can't potentially risk changing the future of sending them back.
Still wish we got a proper conclusion to the show.
There’s so many ways the show could have continued with this ending. I personally like to think since John jumped into the future thereby creating an alternate timeline where there is a resistance that is already established and doing just fine without him as opposed to being “that close to going out forever” as Kyle Reese said in the original movie… Sarah spent the rest of her life without him preparing in any way she can for his arrival at this very moment. It would have made great tv if John were to discover new audio/video recordings she made, as in the original movie, scattered around throughout his journey in the future with further plot points and/or revelations to help him, the Reese brothers & the resistance, Weaver & John Henry, and Cameron/Allison defeat Skynet once and for all.
They could totally do this today- considering it's the future for season 3- everyone has aged, so it would be perfect
