@@murilomanz Maybe one day a sufficiently powerful computer driven by a sophisticated algorithm will be able to generate a season 3. After all we already have deepfake and GPT-3.
This show was very well writen... It is my favorite sequel to T2 by far... also I would love to have the end of it, even if it was only by book or comics. I know that they would have a lot to explore about that machine faction, about that jump on time creating an alternative timeline and etc... Also, I ever see the terminator franchise exactly on this way, infinite timelines where the war is inevitable...
falcon3268 Me too, my friend!😢😢 I wish they would come back with this show for a third season or maybe include the plot of this show in any upcoming Terminator series movie.
My favorite moment of the series. I just recently watched the entire series for the first time. I loved it, and this was the moment I grew to love the bond between Derek and John. I hated what happened to Derek. Love this show so much.
Very touching scene for sure; but also pay attention to Derek's comment at 0:59 where he says he remembers how everything looked before it was on fire and how he'll do whatever it takes to keep everything from burning--and do anything to protect John Connor.
That was a very powerful but nice scene when John sees Derek and Kyle as children and John giving his father back his ball. John meeting the father he never met or knew and who he in the future would send back in time to protect Sarah and ensure his own existence and knowing of Kyle's fate.
Loved John got to see his Dad Derek is a great Uncle to do that for his Nephew really Loved he got to see his Dad again at the end of the Second Season wish this could have continued.
I love that adding Derek as Kyle's brother was an awesome idea. He gave a bit more to the depth in view of the dark future. And then there's this, seeing himself and his brother Kyle and John seeing his dad and uncle... Just the feels...
A movie series that started as 'a scifi survival horror' eventually turned and developed to a series that made us, makes us, think about the morale of our world. Talk about some serious development.
_The Terminator_ was a slasher film where the killer was technological rather than supernatural in its horror. But technology is real, while magic is not, so we were given an avenue into the trials of humanity as it grapples with its burgeoning mastery of technology in a changing world-- changed by us... ...Thus, an existential horror that a mere ghost story cannot touch.
Derek never told John what they saw after Judgment Day, that most people will die from famine, not the exchange, and that many of the survivors turned to cannibalism.
I love Derek is like you guys all think I'm dumb. A Terminator, hard ass sarach Connor, and emotional bomb John go off mission, come out of hiding to save random soldier from the future? Nah, he knows there was more to it than that.
The tragedy is they can look but not get involved. Better than not having that. Would trade years off my life to go back in time and see my siblings and parents if even as a bystander.
I agree they should bring it back and finish the series right way. Hulu HBO Max and Netflix could possibly make it in an original show on one of the platforms
The Kyle who came back in time & fathered John was born after Judgement Day 1997. But Sarah & John stopped that Judgement Day, which altered the course of events. Even if the Reese's did still have a son who they named Kyle it's doubtful it would've been the same Kyle.
Much as I love this scene, Kyle did say in the first film that he didn't see the war, but grew up in the ruins after. If that boy were him, he'd be at least in his mid forties when he came back to save Sarah. Michael Biehn was about 26 when he played Reese and certainly didn't look that old.
@@varyar77 Every T2 sequel, with its own separate timeline (TSCC, T3, Genysis, Dark Fate) establishes that the attack on Cyberdyne either pushes back or effectively prevents Judgment Day. So, In effect, Kyle got to at least be a toddler in a pre-JD world, and met John differently (Genysis has him as a kid, Salvation has him in his late teens)
One thing bother's me. If Derek remember this day, when he was playing with his younger brother, just before JD, did he also remember 16 year old teenager (in the company of older man) giving ball back to Kyle ? And if he remembered this day, did he recognize him self later, while growing up. And did he know when he met John for the 1st time that one day they would go to the park to meet his younger self and his brother/father. Imagine that you are child and you are met by your older self, and you remember this meeting (without of course knowing that this older guy is actually you). After some time you must realize that you become more and more similar to older guy you met as a child. And later, going to this meeteng as a older guy, did you decided to go there, because you knew you have allready met. And what if suddenly you decided not to go, in last moment. Or what if you decide to change something, for example instead being dressed in bussines suit, you gotothe meeting dressed as a clown. Would you timeline somehow corrected it self, making you suddenly to forget about meeting ? Where is free will in that ?
I don't think he would remember it. They came here all of the time and for a kid, this was a random occurrence. How many people had handed the ball back to them over the years? In my mind, Derek as an adult knew that they came to this park to play ball all of the time and knew that he would find himself and Kyle there on that day at that particular time. As for your scenario, I think of it as your future self was the one with the free will. Your younger self just happened to be there. If your younger self remembered and recognized you as your older self, you would have no choice but to go because in order for your younger self to remember your older self, your older self must make the decision to go. If your younger self doesn't remember or recognize your older self, then your older self makes the decision to go using free will. Does that make sense?
While this is a monumental moment for John, from the context of the two Reese brothers, this is just another day to them. Nothing particularly memorable. Think about your life, and see if you can remember EVERY person you met, whether in passing or even during an occasion; it's tough, damn near impossible unless that person has/had a profound effect on you. Clearly, in this case neither Kyle or Derek thought much of seeing John & Adult Derek, as they were probably just other guys at a park to them.
Reality of war. But to be fair, while they killed *this* particular version of Derek, they never intended the overall character/actor to be gone overall.
Plot holes. How did the liquid metal terminators get sent back in time when they are only metal with no living tissue. Sure they look human but they can make them selves into living tissue. You can see that when they get shot there is no blood or anything to indicate that the outside turned into living tissue when they transform.
Watching this show, I just couldn't shake the feeling that Brian Austin Green and Dean Winters should've swapped roles. They both did well on the show, but it would've been even better if Winters had played Derek Reese, and Green had played Charley Dixon.
This show was so awesome. What a tragedy for cancelling it.

So weird seeing your father as a 5yr old

I did.

One of the greatest scenes.
That's one of the saddest happiest scenes in a show
The series is playing again on "H&I Channel'...I'm literally watching this episode right now.
I would love be able to come back in time... Only to watch it for the first time again. 😢 This still being my favorite TV show of all the times.
This is perhaps the most humane moment in a terminator movie! 💙
this was 1 of the best scenes in that series. soo touching.
