Any idea what the change of ownership will mean for the products moving forward?

Nice overview! The Charlie has been on my radar for years. Finally decided to purchase with this new version - got the blue, along with the green alpha. I had the V2 alpha but there were a few things that weren’t ideal so I sold it. This new alpha is more comfy than the V2. I do wish the shoulder straps had seamless edges though. This is where the Charlie wins. But the Charlie’s shoulder straps fit quite different so are shorter in use. The Charlie back panel is also quite rigid so I hope that works in a bit. I do see it shining with heavier loads while the alpha is more general purpose. I do plan to use it as an outdoorsy pack. Looking forward to see what Phil comes up with next now that he can just focus on design.

I dislike the V2 shoulder straps - have they been softened up? Sounds like the C25 back panel is much harder

@@AA-17- can’t say they’re softer but I find the pack overall more comfy than the V2. The Charlie’s back panel is definitely harder. I haven’t tried both packs with significant weight but with an average EDC type load, the Alpha is better.

@@aaronbradshaw7256interesting wonder what makes v3 more comfy. My C25 is super comfy. Soft back panel too. Wonder what's changed

Does the alpha 31 top flap strap have strap keepers now as well?

Not sure what a top flap strap is but the shoulder straps and all side compression straps have keepers.

No. Check out my interviews with the founder to learn more about the manufacturing process and where they make them.
