I had absolutely no need to watch this. I don't even know why I clicked on pt1 to start with. Skills I do not have in a craft I really don't have an interest in... Well done sir. You have both entertained and informed me.. I still have no desire to build my own exhaust system, but good on you for having the ability to do so, and thanks for the movie.
Excellent video. Your comments below say you ordered stainless stuff from Cone Engr., but all the welding in the video looks like it is done with mig on mild steel (?) tubing.
+lincspeed Correct, this particular exhaust in the video is mild steel. Comment below with Benniewheelie is discussing pricing for a custom exhaust in stainless, in which case I would probably buy my stock from Cone Engineering (depending how crappy the exchange rates are!)
I guess im asking the wrong place but does someone know a method to log back into an Instagram account? I stupidly forgot my account password. I would love any help you can give me
@Sam Dayton i really appreciate your reply. I found the site on google and im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I had a similar design fabricated on my Virago Caferacer build out of Cone Engr stainless tube and mufflers ($350 cost) but getting the talent to properly fit and weld the stainless ran the overal cost up to nearly $2000 US. My next design will be executed in mild steel!
I’m currently working on my own custom exhaust on my ‘82 xv750, do you have any info regarding the jetting/ running of the engine once the exhaust was completed? Great work and a lot of inspirational stuff on your channel! I’ve watched this series about 100 times by the way!
Hi barrythefielder, I’m sorry mate, my job was to build the exhaust, I’m not sure what was done to the bike regarding jetting. However if this had been my bike, I would simply book it into my local bike Dyno shop (assuming they could tune an older carby bike) and have it tuned to suit the exhaust.
Unfortunately, only a scratchy clip from the client's mobile phone. Very loud. Likely to attract the unwanted attention of angry neighbours and the police!
+icenyne1 you have to sand each weld down flat with the tube, then progressively sand them smoother until you make them invisible. Not impossible, but takes a lot of time. Have a look at my video on polishing metal, exactly the same process applies. In this case the customer was wrapping the pipes, so no need to spend the time ($) to polish the welds.

Hello i have questions
What model car fuel tank Kawasaki model
Looks Great ! And more equal header lengths upstream of the junction than the `zorst on my stock bike !
Sort of......its 98% looks and whatever is left MAY contribute to increasing, or decreasing, the performance....we'll never know!
awesome work brother , i would love to work on bikes full time. Cheers from argentina

Very nice ! Thanks for showing us how to do it, really.
My pleasure, hope it helps you with your project too!
Duudddeeee thank you for these videos they are extremely helpful. Two thumbs up!
Man very beautiful build , watch all of your video very very interesting!
Mild steel tube, what size wall thickness, welding wire type of gas do you use?
+SIMI.KING MOTO 1.6mm
+SIMI.KING MOTO er70 wire, co2/argon
very cool look!
Thanks!!
Pretty sure I've seen this parked on Swanston st, that Kawasaki tank and yammie engine is pretty distinctive. Nice work!
+tyggerjai yep that would be it 👍

@Sam Dayton it did the trick and I now got access to my account again. Im so happy:D
Thank you so much, you saved my ass !
@Luka Hudson glad I could help :)
Very well done!
Thanks!!
Great video!!! Quality content.

+lincspeed "custom" and "cheap" never seem to go together in the same sentence! But neither does "factory", "stock" and "cool".
I built a full custom exhaust out of random tubing I had for free, besides the cost of cutting disc and mig wire
Very nice 👍
Where did you get those pliers clamps at been looking can't find any thanks for the awesome video
How much mm/inches have ?

Matt McLeod thanks for the reply, It’s pretty hard to find anyone who deals with carby bikes anymore, I’ve got a ballpark idea so I’ll go with that.
Looks Great, now will you make me one?
any clips of how it sounded?
Unfortunately, only a scratchy clip from the client's mobile phone. Very loud. Likely to attract the unwanted attention of angry neighbours and the police!
what kinda of mig welder are you using and what settings? What is the thickness of the metal pipe?
Grate work brother. I like that style, might do something similar on one of my builds soon and also share the process:) where in Au are you?
Cheers mate, I'm in MEL. What about you?
Where did you get the centre-line jig to pie cut the bend? Very useful bit of kit!
+Greg Tucker you can buy them from Cone Engineering in USA
fuckin minted video mate, i am gonna try and get some bends etc and make my own after seeing this, cheers
Good luck mate can’t learn if you don’t have a crack 👍
Hey mate I have a Yamaha virago xv 750.. it's not running at the moment .. it's in Melbourne Brunswick ..could u please help me to build it?
Hi Pramod, I’m not taking on any customer bikes at the moment. The guys at Benzina would likely be able to help you.
That is important to both exhaust pipes length is same ?
Plz reply me ☺☺☺
+Dhruv Darji technically yes if you are trying to extract maximum performance. But this is a cosmetic upgrade and it works fine.
Matt McLeod. thanks for replying me.
You have another video like this, which contains about for more info of exhaust pipe's length?
Plz must reply
Hey mate, Awesome Video, Where abouts are you located and do you have a shop ?
+khanage666 Melbourne mate. Shop is out of my house.
how did you polish and clean the whole exhaust
build up ?

How much would that exhaust cost?
what thickness did you use?
1.6mm
Great work bud,my respect! And what is the diameters of the tubes?
They aren't the same length
Gee you made a mess of that
Made a mess of what?
