I concur. Excellent! I had the surreal opportunity to sing in a tribute to Davy in Nov 2012, with Micky, Peter and Nez. Was very lucky! Voice was shot from singing all night in my seat. It's on UA-cam under: Daydream Believer The Monkees Keswick Theater.
Honestly... I regret not bringing in my own Monkees cd or loading a song up on the extra computer in the studio. We are a top 40 station and don't have their music in our system... My Retro Show mostly does 80's... But I was given this opportunity to interview Peter Tork and I could not pass it up. I grew up with the Monkees. In hindsight... Yes... I spent time prepping for the interview and neglected to think about the song coming out. I really should have played The Monkees rather than Smashmouth... It just happened to be in our system. What a great guy Peter was to interview though! So nice and fun to talk to. Looking forward to their album and tour!

Great interview, but why in the world would they play the Smashmouth version of, "I'm a Believer"???!!!

It’s definitely Peter, but it doesn’t really sound like him. Had he just had a recent throat surgery?
