I saw Davy Jones when I attended an oldies concert at Westbury Music Fair on Long Island, New York. My friend was singing in one of the oldies groups that night and got an autographed 8x10 photo of him for me. I’ll treasure it always. I’ve loved Davy since day one and am still saddened by his passing. 💜

They are just wonderful! Love these guys and their sense of humor! Will always miss Davy ! Wish they all could be around forever , but their show and their music will ALWAYS be popular with every coming generation because there has never been ANYTHING like it, in it's adorable , funny, entertaining way! Davy, Mickey , Mike and Peter are UNIQUELY CHARMING AND TALENTED!! I actually get angry when interviewers ask dumb questions , like "how is it , that this is so popular? They should be required to watch a few episodes of the show BEFORE they interview any of THE MONKEES, so that they can see what gems these guys are! My answer to that question would be , because you can't put that many talented people together and Not come up with a winner! Mickey is so humble and patient and answers these disrespectful questions in such a classy way! A true gracious showman...much like Davy was ( may he rest in peace). Peter and Mickey were so cute , as usual with their special brand of humor!!

John Lennon was well respected and loved and missed. As a fan of The Monkees, it is like losing your favorite brother. You feel like he’s not really gone and that you will see him around the corner. no matter who wrote, sang or played them. And we know It was all about the money for the big corporation(s). And you guys got fame. That's how it's always been. Most people know how it is. keep in mind, The Monkees were designed for young teens mostly, to young for "The Beatles" and too old for sesame st. songs. And Peter, come on man, really?.... getting mad at Micky D for his little joke?.. He complemented you on your definition of "Entrepreneur" dude. I say, relax, don't get so a fended by it. I guess watching other ppl making an idiot or loosing their teeth and their entire life on HARD stuff is a waste. Just smoke a joint and laugh and that's cool enough. It should be legalized because then there would be less suicides and when you spend so much time to yourself like having drama rape disorder and being sexually abused as a child and you can't sleep for days cause all this just chokes your mind, screaming and kicking at night of nightmares and I really believe this relieves it.

Peter is and I believe a very holier than thou type. He is a secondary piece of the Monkees puzzle yet acts like he's an indispensible piece. He's not Ringo or George, but both of those guys knew they were second fiddle to Paul and John, they got it, and appreciated their roles. Peter and the tall one never got the memo. Mickey and Davy were the Monkees and Peter acts like a prick most of the time if he's not featured equally in the conversation. And if you watch his other interviews and documentaries, he's never appreciative for the lottery ticket of life he was given. Always wanting, bitter, like an ex wife type. Peter...life for you is and was extraordinary. Quit with the attitude, nobody's on board with you.

Peter Tork was the most talented musician of the group and taught Mickey Dolenz to play the drums when he was given the role of drummer on the show. Mike Nesmith said that Peter Tork was a huge part of why their first independent album "Headquarters" was so successful. He was also a very popular member of the group and had a huge following, just as much as the others did. Davy and Mickey were actors when the show started while Mike and Peter were musicians, and the group became successful because of the music and the show. He also toured with Mickey and Davy for years so he was very much a part of their later success as well. I have read in comment threads that Peter was always very generous to their fans and took the time to talk to them, which didn't always happen with the other members.

Aaron Anderson I'm late to the party, but I'll put my two cents in anyway. I don't think Peter was a holier than thou type at all. All the things I've seen and read show him as a pretty down-to-earth type. Most people talk about his kindness. Also, I don't think he was secondary to any of the others. He was far superior to them musically, and they lost out greatly by not having him sing lead on more of their songs. I think Mike had a big part in this as he never liked Peter and said Peter never liked him. I don't know how true that was. If you notice, here as in many other interviews, Micky takes the ball and runs with it. Peter is lucky to get in a few words here and there. And you are very wrong, many, many fans are on board with him.

I remember when 3 of the 4 monkees came to my home town. That is Marysville, Washington. The only monkee I believe was not the was Davy Jones. That was about 1985 or 1986.
