Great, great performance, just sitting there playing the guitar and singing was so cool. Humble like most great people are. ... And very smart.

I actually saw his solo show, but in Chicago, and it was fantastic! Thanks to my hubby for the best birthday present ever!

Great to see this. Peter's performance of Goffin/King's "Wasn't Born to Follow" on The Monkees' 2016 album "Good Times" has grown on me immensely. Really fine. Miss this guy.

Wow, love Peter's style and wit!! He may not have sung as many songs with this band as Micky and Davy, but he was every bit as talented!!! RIP DAVY, MIKE AND PETER

Peter should've been given so many more songs on the Monkees albums. He's got a wonderful voice. I was binging the show the other day and realized that Peter has a pretty huge fanbase, but they never gave him a love song to sing on the show while Micky, Davy and Mike had many. I don't think they knew how many fans he had. I'm not counting "Ladys Baby."

I'd be one. What would have been in your opinion good (love) songs for Peter in the Monkees' repetoire? Your Auntie Grizelda, written I think not just with Peter but the more cerebral Peter Tork in mind. It is such a blessing, the casting choices by the series producers - choosing the ones they liked best - different personalities that would appeal to different segments of viewers. The first run initial series left television with fans wanting more - who knew (and aren't we lucky) syndication increased viewership, a love for their music, for generations to come.
Had the series weathered all it was up against; had Peter not chosen to leave, he might have at that time had opportunities to sing lead more. I have gratitude for the three - whether David, Micky, Peter or Micky, Peter and Mike - (and now Micky) continuing to perform, perform well, the(ir) great music from the Monkees' great songwriters. Each gained and sacrificed something personal to maintain a Monkees connection, a decades long relationship with Monkees fans. Each since the initial series ended have been able to move on, to right wrongs and contribute more of their true selves during Monkees performances. A very good thing for Peter who was farthest of the four from the character he portrayed.

He recorded this version on his only solo CD: Stranger Things Have Happened in 1994. It was every bit as good here. I wish they would have let Peter sing this and also the whole of Shades of Gray, Early Morning Blues and Greens and For Pete's Sake during his initial Monkee days. I've heard him on all of these and I prefer his leads and arrangements on them even better than the Monkee versions.

I believe at the time the interview was done he was already battling cancer. I think he did age pretty well up until that point. If you see photos of the last two years of his life, he definitely looked more exhausted, probably because of the cancer
