No, in Iliad Achilles loved and respected Patroclus, Ajax, Odysseus and Diomedes. He also loved his father who was a Greek king and his mother. All these people were Greek and he loved his country. The only man he didnt like was Agamemnon who ruled the greek army. As far as the trojans , Hector who was falsely called honorable run away scared when Diomedes the second best Greek warrior wounded him. Also Paris was a coward.
Troy is such an amazing film; I don't care what anyone says.

There’s plenty of more lessons to be learned in the movie. Not just yours.
It's even more amazing that Achilles' myth (and how he unleashed his rage on trojans after Patroclus' death) still endures and births movies and books when he didn't even step foot in Troy, he died outside the walls and never saw it fall.
The flexibility with the sword makes this movie unique..... I thought the fight scene was a stunt double but he did it by himself.... Best work from him in his career

Achilles was such a dominating fighter that he lack one great virtues. “Restraint.” In the end, someone did find out he did have a weakness. That’s why they named it Achilles.
Beg to differ. His fight with the elder son of Troy, was a fierce one. Question is, was he holding back to honor the fight? Or was the brother really good enough to hold against Achilles for that long? He was born to fight and kill, therefore he learned to do it quickly and efficiently without wasting time or movement. Restraint can be shown in many ways. A prolonged fight, when you know you can best your opponent, could be seen as restraint. He wanted vengeance, not just to kill. He wanted him to suffer for killing his student. So he took his time. Prolonged the fight to drain the older brother until he, literally, couldn't defend anymore again Achilles. How many did Achilles kill before that one fight? Countless. Cause noone could come close enough to actually getting that killing blow. None had the skill, none had the mentality or spirit to truly best him. I'm willing to bet that he could've ended Hector, the elder brother, far more quickly than he did.
Maybe he doesn’t live by YOUR idea of proper virtues. Maybe he created the virtues he wanted and chose to live by.

Decent adaptation of The Iliad, one of the greatest epics ever written.

For a 2004 movie,the quality is phenomenal
This has been my greatest motivation, I wonder what kind of man he was, I have not seen anyone use a sword like Achilles he inspires me a lot, I have always come once in a while for 10 years now and more I think just to watch a clip of his courage and bravery, and I find strength from it, truly his name is lasting through the ages.

I hate that tebe movie wasnt accurate, but the acting and the filmmaking was phenomenal. I love this story so much. This movie has the best dialogue and the best thought provoking lines. This is fantastic!

One of the greatest films ever made. ( although they shouldn't have killed Agamemnon or Menelaus, not only because of the inaccuracy, but also because sequels could have been made ! )

Agamemnon dies as soon as he returns home tho. Menelaos has a more boring odyssey trying to return and then does return until he dies one day. Not exciting.
