Just picked this watch up with the silver dial... so much better in the hand - try and see one of these in an A.D., I haven’t yet seen the video that does it justice… The texture on the silver dial is beautiful and as for that quirky 3 - well it it seems to be getting lots of moans in the comments but personally I absolutely adore it! I don’t notice any problem with having it next to the date window, maybe because on the white dial it doesn’t stick out so much (but it doesn’t look like a problem to me on this black dial either), For me - I really like having a date, I check the date on my watch at least once every day.. in short this watch exceeded expectations - beautiful build quality and the three (Black/blue or silver) all look great to me

Thank you for this review. I bought my one a few weeks ago after spending a month researching luxury watches. This is my first higher-end brand buy and I finally came back to this watch (the discount offer from the London retailer I first saw it on sealed the deal!).
My only problem with it is the cut off 3, which does make it look a bit weird. Sure, having the date is great, but I agree with you - I could definitely do with a full 3 numeral without the date!

Mostly loving my 40mm black on bracelet. Loving, 'cos the watch is beautiful, great legibility, superbly finished (no dust on mine and easily the match of a '00s Omega), great movement (+1.5sec), amazing (as in Seiko levels) lume. Awesome GADA watch. But... L2L is long (50mm on the 40) and with those male end links, it looks bigger. But that's fit - try before you buy. Worse is that the outer AR coating will scratch. Which kinda defeats the point of a sapphire crystal. That bugs me. Would love a 38mm no date, no AR...

Can you please review the Longines Spirit Chronograph (COSC certified as well) from this Spirit series from Longines? And also there will be really interesting to see reviews with Omega SeaMaster Planet Ocean Chronograph and SpeedMaster Chronograph, to compare them to already reviewed Rolex Submariner, and with tests on timegrapher as usual!

I'd probably go for the 40mm, think I prefer the date window arrangement. I have a 7" wrist so think I could pull it off. The non prestige version comes with a butterfly bracelet, apparently very nice quality but without the clasp and micro adjustment. The build quality of these seems off the scale, comparable to a watch costing double. I need to get out and see these in the flesh.

Kavar jewelers did have the blue dial in when it first released but they sold out instantly of course so I couldn't get my hands on it.

they had the blue 40mm as well. Gone in a flash. more on order but sometimes longines orders take upto 8months. lol

I like a massive frame for the date…I’ve seen German watches do it,with style..
Male end links can be an issue, I tried on an Omega Speedmaster today on the bracelet & they made it wear too big on my 6.75 inch wrist. By contrast the Chewda BB GMT I tried on was fine & actually wore smaller!

Beautiful. This watch would be perfect in 38-40mm, with female end links and a 6 o'clock date window that completely replaces the numeral.
They made a 37mm wiht date at 6. I have one on order!

What’s the difference between this and normal version ?
Normal and Prestige are available as 40mm and the 42mm versions. Prestige edition's come with 3 straps instead of 1! All straps are fitted with quick-change mechanisms; Prestige edition Bracelet has a different clasp with micro adjustments. Packaging is bigger! Huge box as seen in beginning, including a book on the history of Longines on prestige.

Actually my wrist size grew now to 6.6 in. I have many watches to film in the schedule so I probably won't review the 40 mil titanium maybe next year
Wonderful watch, but I would prefer the 40 mil version, because I guess the proportions are slighly better. I guess Longines offers great value if you consider what they deliver for the price.

I believe the push button bracelet with upgraded clasp only comes on the prestige edition. Shame .

Big and looking bigger
Unfortunately even the 40mm wears too large for me with the male end links. If they made this exact watch in 38 or 39 with female end links, I would have a black and silver dial. Amazing looking watch by Longines.

They should have moved the date to the 6 and removed the 6 completely. A big date at 6 would have been even better but im not sure if that is possible on the eta2892 which i think is the actual movement in this watch.
