Everything Japanese do is so delicate and dedicated yet so simple. They makes things seems minimal and complex at the same time. Like egg omlete, chicken and rice, it seems just like a home-cook meal to me and yet it is a thing in japan!?! Oyako don?!?! Wow! Japanese live so gratefully it makes me seem like an ungrateful guy for not treasuring my eggs and rice enough.
This looks sooo nice. I also love the style of presentation with the tablet and the little bowls and Stuff. It really puts the food on another level. I also like, how they always have the right tools for specific dishes like that small pan or those Giant stiring sticks. Real masters at work!
Food looks awesome. Isn’t it odd that a simple video like this can lead to a lot of angry comments? Seems like everyone is so angry these days - I have to wonder why.
bruh those eggs are fucking tough too. when you buy them - it's just a dozen in a fucking plastic bag. the chickens over there eat insects non stop - so the shells are mega hard. that's why those yolks are so orange too.
I saw “red”, in my local market all you can get is cheap egg with yellow yolk, and when you mix it up with the egg white it became the light yellow mixture. The egg yolk in this video is so ”red” that the mixture has the dark orange color which is the same dark orange color I can find in the yolk of some other organic farm.
Japanese eggs are so expensive and strictly not by policy alone but there pride to produce such valuable eggs. Pls search about Japanese chicken and egg farms there standard is much higher that other countries.
Oyakodon was the first dish I ate in a Japanese restaurant. I then ate some sushi and I threw up. That was close to about 35 years ago. Now, I am a great fan of Japanese cuisine. Anything that is cooked or raw, I eat.
Didnt actually see a single comment about the egg being undercooked, but there are sooo many comments all worked up about the fact that people are saying that the egg is undercooked
I was actually scrolling down to see all those comments talking about the unsafetyness of the ingredients in the video. I only see people complaining about those comments and others praising Japanese food....
@Arachnicution That people get triggered without any reason and that no one is trying to put down Japan and its culture? As the first commenter pointed out?
Japanese production process for both eggs and poultry have a higher standard and their eggs are even safe to eat raw. Have eaten this multiple times and the chicken was never raw, as the video would tend to show.
Of course, that shell is the cause of food poisoning. So in Japan, shell is sterilized before shipment and it is safe to eat egg raw. However, its taste is slimy and will not fit your popular taste :)
That's actually only partially accurate. No matter the cleanliness of the facility, eating eggs raw always provides a risk. I lived in Japan for a while.
@James Franko "I haven't seen it, therefore, it must not happen". A fallacy. ええと、私も。 I always love when people say they've been living in Japan for a while without having any idea who they're speaking with or if that person lived there, too :). By the way, just because you haven't seen anyone have a brain aneurysm doesn't mean it doesn't occur.
You guys seriously need to educate yourself about the japanese style and understanding of their chicken poultry farms + egg production, they are very clean and aware of the risks. But in their culture of chickens and eggs, is very different than other countries & America. Plus the chicken that seems "undercooked" gets coated by more sauce & heat mixed with other ingredients / eggs, gets cooked fully.
Oyako donburi is the first one being made...oya means parent in Japanese and kodomo (ko for short) is child, so it’s parent/child (chicken/egg) donburi... donburi (don for short) is a type of Japanese cuisine where different foods are cooked with eggs scrambled and served over rice like katsu donburi, tempura donburi, unagi (eel) don, ten don, etc.
This comment section 90% complaining about people complaining about the egg being under cooked 10% about this video being posted at 12am 0% complaining about the egg being undercooked
Yea, I see nobody complaining about it... and I've actually looked for it. I guess I would complain, not about it being unsafe, but I just happen to not like my eggs that undercooked. If they cooked it a bit I would be okay with it being a but runny... but eh... whatever that's just me.
Did you see all the 2k comments? I often see this kind of comments describing the comment section when they don't really read all the comments. Those comments are probably at the bottom because nobody liked them. Also the egg is runny because that's just how the dish is. It still depends on the chef though. But no matter whether the egg is undercooked or not, this dish is delicious either ways.
I am not Japanese but I grew up eating raw egg with rice. Never had an issue about it till now. As long as the chicken that lay the egg is healthy. And also, every time some one is sick. We give them our own egg, that our chicken layed them. They eat it raw. To get well faster. It is said raw egg have a very high protein.
El Tigre its not that great tbh , japanese has high expectation in working and studying, so u have to work very hard with 100% strength everyday, u aint got time to try out street food bud
Ahh the oyakodon. One of the best meals for breakfast. Easy and simple to make and you can mix it up other meats but of course chicken would be nice combination with egg (hence the name is oyakodon)
Amazing! The amount of Umami from the chicken and Japanese soy sauce alone is overwhelming. Why do you post this? Why you make me hungry? Now I'm craving for one.. 😖😖😖😖😖 Why? God why?
For all those who think that the chicken and egg are under cooked..remember that japanese take extreme care in poultry production(of course in every thing) There is no harm in eating raw egg or any kind of raw meat without even cooking in Japan. Perhaps.... Unecessary cooking can be avoided which helps in reducing the emission of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.. I always love this about Japan.. It's God's own country and is an exceptional wonderland. People need to be really blessed to be born in a country like Japan which strictly adheres to quality standards.

japanese food never fails to impress me, so complex yet so simple and soo pretty
Aren't complex and simple contradict each other?
@@m.h.a.2404 *_Maybe, he meant Japanese food looks complex but actually is cooked in a simple way!_*

SnM Vital no one fucking asked, you’re not funny, and you have the humor of a 7 year old.
The first dish is called Oyako-don. Oya=mother ko=child. don=bowl. A bowl of mother (chicken) & child (egg).
The second one is called Ome-rice.
So is kabedon count as kabe bowl?
Just joke lol
That got dark really quick
Sorry, Oya mean Father in Japanese 😁

Actually if I'm not mistaken Japanese eat their egg raw in certain dishes because of how healthy and clean their eggs are
