- Got this nice average out of nowhere! My reaction was a little weird because I was annoyed at the lockups on the final solve. Hopefully, I can pull off an average like this at the Canadian Championships this weekend. Wish me luck!

Hey Matty , so recently I became sub 10. I know average 9 seconds on 3x3. Took me 9 1/2 months, and most people take years, so I’m really happy that I practiced in the way that I learned best. Now, here’s my question. What do I do from here? How do I improve? How to I get faster times?

I'm 7 months in at sub 20 average. I'm gonna ask you the same.
Wondering how much first pair prediction or xcross you incorporate for achieving sub 10, if any. My F2L habits are good, my PLLs are smooth, but I only know half OLL and my cross is quite bad.
@@jazay591 I am not sub 10 but I do average ~13 second so I can tell you some things. Cross is sometimes difficult to improve on so I would suggest going to JPerm's channel and watching all of the cross videos you can and apply them as well as possible. Pair prediction isn't always necessary but you should attempt to watch your first pair. Choose a few easily preservable F2L pieces and track them through your cross solution. That should help you plan it. Also, give yourself unlimited inspection, which would give you ability to plan as you need. Learning the rest of OLL can be difficult but I learned it in probably 2 weeks. Break the algs down into triggers and deill them into your muscle memory and practice often. Lookahead probably is something you could improve on. Do untimed solves (ones that are fast but have no need to be your fastest) and always think of your next solution. That's my 2 cents, do with it whatever but I hope you achieve your goal.
My improvement rate is fairly similar to yours, I average around 18 seconds after about 4 months of practicing CFOP now and what I can tell you from my experience is that if you've managed to improve this fast, you can figure it out on your own using various online resources. You got it 😉

I remember asking you at USnats for tips to be sub 8. There arent any videos on that so if you made one, you would get alot of views from everyone stuck with no tutorial to help them and it would ve a great service to the community. Amazing average also, counting a 3.7
