Your research is so interesting I bet you get those grants! i can sympathize with your issue with the eyes going wonky after reading a ton of old newspapers. I have been deep into dozens of papers from the gilded age and the poor quality of some of the coppies causes a lot of eye strain. My research is done (thank God) and now all I have to do is write the thesis. I chose one of the 5 grad schools for Fall of 2023! So, I will be in the middle of it all at that time as well. I have learned a lot from your blog and hope to apply it as I start out for the first time as a GA.
I have a pair of blue light glasses from Amazon and I totally feel a difference when I don't wear them - I also asked my eye doctor about it and he said they work so it's not just a placebo effect! I don't mind the mundane vlogs at all, since that's what my daily routine looks like anyway :) it's comforting seeing other PhD students live a normal "boring" life
Hi , can you make videos about Ohio State University vs the University of Cincinnati or other universities in Ohio (or whatever states) that offer PhD programs. Acceptance rates, Scholarships, rents, campus etc. Second thing that I wonder is how univetsity's budget can affect the funding for a PhD program? Thank you!
Hi! This sounds like a good video, but I don't really know anything about the other universities in Ohio, so I wouldn't feel comfortable speaking on this subject!
Hey Katherine, really enjoying your videos. I am currently a History major in undergraduate studies (Junior) and in the process of looking at graduate programs. I have a lot of questions, especially as someone who has experienced both the MA and Ph.D. process. Could I email you my questions?
Yes it definitely throws off my plans! I've had to cut my summer trip a few weeks short, and will also be spending some money out of pocket (which I definitely don't recommend)
@@KatherineWeiss I hate planning ahead when I don't know how much money or which grants I will even get. Luckily the department has some funding, but it's still so stressful. Especially those of us who have to travel internationally. The airplane ticket alone is so expensive man.

@@Booksurfs I totally hear you!! My ticket for Australia was 2.5k, which eats up most of the funding. It is all so so stressful.
@@KatherineWeiss oh god, my entire grant was 2,5k! This is ridiculous.
