The album Violator that this is from is still to this day one of the best mixed albums of all time. It's fantastic! The song "World In My Eyes" from the same album is one of my favourites of theirs.
Good one! Love that twangy guitar sound (remind you a little of "Come Along" from Titiyo?). "World In My Eyes" from them is really good musically and lyrically.
The lyrics are actually about 1-900 phone numbers that came about in that time where people could pay a toll and talk to preachers, sex workers, or get recorded messages from people such as rock stars.
As I've said elsewhere on yt, Depeche Mode were my first ever live gig way back in 1981 when I was 16 years old. I loved them then and I love them now. 'Songs of Faith and Devotion' is probably my favourite album by them but 'Violator' is definitely up there.
One of my favorite 80s - 90s bands. Enjoy the Silence is my favorite from their Violator album but that whole album is 🔥🔥. Never Let Me Down Again is also a great song by DM. Lots of good music by them to dig into
Amazing song. It's quite something to be at one of their concerts and hear the intro. You're sad because it's the last one of the show, at the end of the encore (I guess most of the times anyway), but it's soooo good you wanna hear it and sing along!!!
4:56 (album version) 3:43 (7-inch version) "Enjoy the Silence" was Depeche Mode's highest charting single in the United States, peaking at number eight on the Billboard Hot 100 in July 1990. 5:48 (12-inch version) US Billboard Hot 100 # 28 "Personal Jesus" had a total of 6 remixes across all versions ,
I was so excited for this one! This is one of my favourite three Depeche Mode songs as I love the lyrics. The others being Enjoy the Silence and It’s No Good (Dave Gahan pulls on the gold lame for that video 😂) They are my husband’s favourite band so must show this to him! Surprised him with gig tickets one year and they put on such a great show. Good choice there ♥️
This was one of their biggest club hits. This particular version; it was extremely hard to come by unless you could order the vinyl , “Route 66” It’s mixed with the song that was the A side of the EP, “Behind The Wheel” Is is also a tremendous club dong This is 😎 ua-cam.com/video/CLC4TLDlFFo/v-deo.htmlsi=6ZKbqoArdVbJqs-5
Some superior choices today... Not their biggest though...actually the lowest charting of the three Top 40 hits from *this* album, at least in the US.Their biggest hit in the US would be the very next one released, "Enjoy The Silence", which you did a few weeks back.
Hi There, Still hoping you will come back to Rush but I know you reacted to some Gordon Lightfoot songs and I just ran across a fantastic documentary about Gordon Lightfoot called Gordon Lightfoot Did she remember my name. Gordon is in it , he passed last year and he was in his 80's. People in the documentary , Alex Lifeson and Geddy Lee from Rush. Randy Bachman from The Guess Who/BTO. Bob Dylan, Frank Sinatra are also mentioned in the documentary. Cheers and have a wonderful Christmas 🎄
@SaeedReacts. you should relax and play some games over the holidays. You made millions of videos this year for our pleasure! Thank you Merry Christmas or happy holiday and a happy new year to you and your family.

After 40 years, these guys' classic songs really hold up. They stand the test of time.

You might check out the song People are People by Depeche Mode as well...

Enjoy the silence is their biggest song. I love this one, though.
I still say Reach out and touch me!

People are People and a couple of others are their biggest charters at No. 4
Love this song, their live performances of it are usually concert highlights. My personal favorite is Barcelona 2009, that one is badass 😉
I also thought it was reach out and touch me 🤣 Are we narcissists? 😂

Truly amazing to discover so much great music in such condensed period of time.
Reach out and touch faith
