I've done many of my motorcycle tires. I paint it on lying the tire flat using a paint brush or paint pad. The Flex Seal will smooth itself out. Lettimg it dry for an hour like that, then turn the tire over and do the other side. Baking in the sun or a hair dryer will speed up the drying. Spraying from a can like this and masking gives a nice edge. My motorcycles are old and not show bikes. I wash the tires, then Simple Green, then sand lightly. They will clean up like new with Bleech White whitewall cleaner and a soft nylon scub brush, but not too aggressive with the dcub brush. Thanks for posting.
Andover MN here, I did this to my Corvettes tire lettering a few years ago, just finally started to notice a slightly offwhite color. Going on 3rd year now, think I'll just do a touch up coat but it's amazing how good it holds up even with heat cycles on and off the track.
Other whitewall tire videos mention about heating the rubber with a hairdryer to open the pores of the rubber and thus provide better adhesion. Also cleaning with a rubber specific cleaner (i.e. Rema brand) or sanding the surface would help too.
The hero we needed, been wanting white walls for some time and even debated painting them on there but never bothered bc, well paint. But flexseal, never would've thought of it! Awesome, thanks for the inspiration and the knowledge!
The crazy this when you do this on a modern tire, it instantly looks vintage, even with lettering on it etc. Beats paying $1500 plus for whitewalls out of the states.
Hey thanks! The whitewalls on my 95 Roadmaster wagon are getting a little worn out. Maybe I'll try touching them up with some of this stuff. They make a brush-on version. That ought to make it easier keeping within the circle.

Awesome idea. I live in Ecuador and portawalls are impossible to find and costly to import from the US as would be real wide whitewall tires. I will give this a try when my current portawalls bite the dust.

Now that your wheels and tires are all fancy, it's time to address the paint. Scrub the whole truck with undiluted CLR and a green scotchbrite. Let it dry, then rub a THIN coat of boiled linseed oil over all the metal. Gotta do it in the summer when it's warm.
Ha! You sound like my Dad. The truck originally was a one ton flat bed. I put a 8 foot junkyard bed on it but the wheelbase was too long so I got creative. Here is the episode on it if you are interested: ua-cam.com/video/JQPWf2dx91A/v-deo.html Thanks for watching!

This is funny. I saw this vudeo when you started. Haven't seen any of your videos since really. Today i am on coker's site and followrd a link to a video they have on you tube "how white wall tires are.made"... When it went to youtube it is them making their correct and overpriced whitewalls (with well known issues we all deal with)...and then your "who cares" spray paint 'em video right under it lolol.l

What's you're experience with the color turning brown or yellow over time?
I want to do some new motorcycle tires.

I was thinking of doing the same thing, glad to hear it holds up well. Is yours a daily driver or just run occasionally?
As previously asked^ how many miles you put on them? And was it parked in the sun or out in the qwather a lot?
Other whitewall tire videos mention about heating the rubber with a hairdryer to open the pores of the rubber and thus provide better adhesion. Also cleaning with a rubber specific cleaner (i.e. Rema brand) or sanding the surface would help too.
I had always wondered how well flex-walls would work. This opens up levels of DIY never before seen

FYI Rustoleum Leak Seal seems to be the same stuff, I couldn't find Flex Seal locally here in Alberta. Great video, it inspired me to do this.

You could've shaved the tire with those raised letters, those would make the big gang wide whitewalls
Came across your channel when someone told me about doing flex seal white walls this morning. Great video. How are they holding up?
I got a whole set of 50yo NOS white walls for $75 from swap meet. Took a hour to get em kinda white
But, what's the temperature, where your at.? I live in Florida, where it's about 85° all the time.
I live in Minnesota where it feels like 50 below all winter long and hot and muggy in the summer. The temp can be all over the place here.
I lob ju! This is the solution I was looking for!
