It always blows my mind how frantically they both play their instruments while remaining so incredibly synchronised. They must know each other extremely well!
Hands down best bolt show I've ever seen. The pure energy within the room was intoxicating. What a performance! Btw, I'm legit right in front on you, I remember your go pro taping that song haha, I was wearing the Kanye west yeezus shirt. Thank you so much for this video!
I remember seeing Lightning Bolt at Fire House 13 before they had a stage back in 2010. The venue was very small but EVERYONE from Providence came out to see them. The mosh was absolutely brutal, people were literally falling onto the drummers set and they had to stop a few times just back the crowd up! What a insane show and band nothing like it!
A work friend who became one of my best freinds gave me a copy of Wonderful Rainbow as a Christmas present years ago and I became aninstant fan. Dracula Mountain always makes me think of him. Thanks Mike!
I've seen Lightning Bolt once and this song is one of the most apeshit experiences I've had in my life. I was insanely drunk and wore myself to a pulp to this because I knew every part. I was in sync with this.
Lightning Bolt "Dracula Mountain" @ First Unitarian Church Philadelphia 5/14/2015 1221pm a top tune. and it is. though ... somewhat muted... should have gotten lightning bolt on adult swim judging by the constant repetition - this band would have suited the theme of... repetition. nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnice.
@@dakotakeller1606 it is subjectively bad in every measurable sense. It lacks art, it lacks finesse, it lacks any of the qualities that "good music" has ever had. Maybe a bad acid trip is the one thing it is good at conjuring.
@@dighawaii1 Bruh... Really? It may be not your kind of music, which is fine, but from an artistic standpoint this is top notch! It's planned out chaos. These two are more accurate than a fuckin clockwork. Also the bass player worked on Guitar Hero and was responsible for the music and art in the video game Thumper. I Love how right at the start Brian drops his stick and just keeps trying to use the force until some guy picks it up for him
+Jaben Betz he's motioning at it to get someone to pick it up hahaha
what guy? o,o

They’ve been doing this since 1994. They’re basically pros at it
@@NyqWill95 yeahh I really hope to see them live one day but they rarely come to the UK these days (understandably)
I like the crowd dynamics.
Brian: *drums*
Crowd: *silent*
Brian: See you in the eveNING!
Crowd: *freaks out*
I spent the whole video trying to spot the bass player
FOUND HIM!!!!
Where is he?
synthmalicious blue shirt
Thats how he likes it
Gibson really likes to hide 😅
frantic camera work adds so much haha
I mean, it'd be impossible to have "still" shots at a Lightning Bolt performance
Imagine being the guy to pick up Brian's drumstick for him. That mustve been the highlight of the guy's life lol
That kid later grew up to be Obama
@@gogetavsvegito wow so inspiring
of course not
once in 2004 tim harrington of les savy sav grabbed my face during a show and spit a bunch of water in my mouth and i still recall the moment fondly
Boy, those Unitarians sure know how to enjoy themselves.
Daughters, the locust. Lightning Bolt. crazy church
I thought they just accepted gays more. These dudes thought maniac cop was a funny movie aye?
Legendary venue for punk, metal, hardcore and EVERYTHING in between
The power of christ compels them
It's almost like they realized that loud, angry music isn't inherently satanic/anti-christian
Brian gets all the attention, and the bassist is just "ok, I'm right here guys, I'm here"
This is funny, because both of them are Brian.
Brian is simutainously being filmed and not filmed
I think Gibson doesn’t like the attention much as well…so I think its fine..
Best youth group ever
Love when noise/experimental people rock tie dye. Throbbing Gristle alone taught us that psychedelic drugs and crazy, sinister music go together.
i need to see them live. i need to feel that bass in my bones
Honestly the most euphoria I've ever felt at a live show. Hope you get to experience that!

The First Unitarian Church is the best venue on the east coast and possibly the entire country. You can't change my mind.

I hope i see lightning bolt live before i die. they are not even my favorite band but the energy is unmatched.
I wasn't feeling that dizzy before watching this. Thank you.
Church Gone Wild
6:48 this was the exact moment I thought to myself "lightning bolt is *the shit* dude", what a fucking performance
"Chip you can only hit the drums once" *hammers 20 times every 3 seconds*
This dude is on another level. You can play any chaotic audio and he can make it the organized melody of a song.
So many great bands have stepped foot on that same stage
Brian is legit the best drummer in the world
i can’t think of a better drummer at all
tied with zach hill, I'd say
maaaaaan. Best live band! Its been years since I saw them but damn they create such an amazing live presence. long live lightning bolt!!!
2021 has me watching this once a day
I never get tired of hearing this
in their own ways they're both absolute beasts
Can you imagine how many drum sets this dude has put in the grave? Fucking monster!!
seeing Lightning Bolt live at least once deserves a top position in your life CV
Shaky camera messing with my eyes. Now I'm seeing 4 Brians
Fu*kin' hell yeah !!
maybe the crasiest Lighting Bolt video here ?
I'm really starting to like this band. And for some reason the name of this song makes me laugh. Such a great name for a song.
If your wondering who the hairy man to the right of the camera man pounding at the air like a gorilla is, it’s my dad 🤦🏼♂️
You must be proud!
This rules.
Brian Chippendale drops his drum stick and gets it like Luke Skywalker using the force on his lightsaber on Hoth
Wow, okay. That was intense and I thoroughly enjoyed this.
he has the crowd eating out of his hand!

I can smell this gig
I wish I knew about this band back then. I live in Philly!
