Awesome videos man. I bought my son a type s as his college graduation present. Your vid’s are helpful on giving us ideas of how to customize it. Thank you
just to confirm, those with the optional performance wheels have a ton of space behind the wheels for oem stud clearance......my final fitment are 20mm rear, 15mm front....perfect for me
I never run out of uses for my bridgeport and lathe. I could make quick work of that spacer issue, or bore out the wheel so there's nice machined recesses for the studs, or machine my own spacers. When is the exhaust video coming? I can't buy a type s until there's plenty of AM stuff for it.
I just copped those rims for my 2015 TLX definitely going to rely on your video to see how I want it to look ...good stuff man keep it up I'ma subscribe too!
I have a '23 Type S, loving it. Wouldn't the spacer change the suspension geometry? I would think it would stress it in an un-natural way, causing problems over time? Maybe overthinking it, but it is engineered to specific tolerances. Anyone out there had anything happen?
"Wouldn't the spacer change the suspension geometry? " not at all no. "I would think it would stress it in an un-natural way" Not really...is is honestly the same as just putting a lower offset wheel on. It does shift loads a little but not enough to have any impact. In an extreme case sure, but we aren't talking about 6" wide spacers here.
Do you think with the Y spoke wheels if I use 27mm in front would it poke out more than the multi spoke? And also thinking of using 25mm in the back I like that flush look in the front
With the Y spoke wheels, I was thinking of doing 25mm all the way around. After watching this video, I'm now thinking of doing 25mm in the front and 20mm in the rear. Would that be fine or is it better to stick to 25mm all the way around?
"After watching this video, I'm now thinking of doing 25mm in the front and 20mm in the rear." People do that, for sure. But mostly, like 90%, do 25mm all around: www.heeltoeauto.com/spacer/fastline-performance-wheel-hub-spacer-gunmetal-2pc-5x120-m14x1.50-64.1-hub-25mm-width-flp-wsgm-1507-641-25.html
Yeah I think most people probably would, but I guess it's also depends on how much grinding needs to happen. It looks like the 20 would fit if you just took down some of the casting marks inside the recesses, you don't need to actually eat out a whole lot of material there. So I wouldn't really prefer to modify the wheel but that seems like the thing to do in this case.
doing the videos we all want to see!! Nice to see a driveby with full install.

That's an awesome gift! hah, appreciate the feedback and subscription!
Just went to Heeltoe and ordered spacers for my TLX after watching this video for some insight. Thanks Marcus!
Thanks a ton for watching and for the purchase!
This is a GREAT video. I’m thinking about getting spacers for my CU2 with the 225/50/17 set up. I really like the 27mm on your TypeS, it looks great!
Glad you liked it!
I purchased 27mm wondering if I made the right choice because I do not want it to stick out too bad. I’m looking for a flush look. What do you think?

Absolutely, we did see that also later on. The hub recesses in the Y-spoke are much much bigger than the standard multi-spokes.
What 15 mm spacer did you run in the front?
Thank You so much for that video, I really need the 20mm spacer 🙏🏼
I love that quiet torque wrench!
Haha torque to spec!

Posting info over the next few days and weeks. Stay tuned!
Did you see the exhaust video?
Great video, thanks!!! Looks like the Y spoke rims have "deeper recesses".
Yes they do no mod should be needed for 20mm spacers on that car.
I just copped those rims for my 2015 TLX definitely going to rely on your video to see how I want it to look ...good stuff man keep it up I'ma subscribe too!
Thanks a ton!
What kind of tires and size you got on the wheels?
that 4g looking fire in the background
Oh yeah see #HTSpecUA9 on insta

No they would not, because the y-spoke and multi-spoke are the same specs.
So the 27 come out a little more in the back?

I would rather grind the stud instead of the wheel. I think the 20s look better.

Why do I like the look of it wider than the fender?
Because it is aggressive and cool.
Do we know how long the factory wheel studs are ?
Have not measured them directly. Why?
Did you use stock lug nuts
@heeltoe
On this video yes we did
Why does the left side poke more than the right side with the same spacers all around?
It's really just an alignment variation it seems.
Garrett Media did it first , but this is dope asf 🎉
Thanks for the comment!
That's type s is going to be awesome when it done more video please
More coming all the time!
Do you prefer the look of the 20, or a set or 25?
Personally I like the 25mm Fastline spacers look with the stock wheels.
Also will this affect my car in a bad way ? like void warranty, cause tire wear, etc...
No you would not have any of those concerns. They do need to be installed and torqued correctly!
Does the 20mm spacers clear the silver TL?
Clear?
Did you have to use extended lug or was there enough thread for the stock lugs to go on
These spacers come with new studs pre-installed.
@@Heeltoe. Thank you
After i put te spacers on would I need a wheel alignment or wheel balance ?
No you would not.
How much material can you take off the wheel?
How much CAN you? Plenty I guess.
My concern is rock chips flying out song the side of the car now. Especially being in NJ
yeah, i have the sale dilemma. I'm not sure if 20mm will get me rock chips. I do have mud guards all arounds but I'm not sure if that would be enough.
@@nicogrande love the look but I love my paint more
Without splash guards, you will get ships. Try putting clear bra behind the fenders!
@@Heeltoe. yeah I gotta do that for sure
does spacer only goes to the front wheels only or both front and rear?
You can mount wherever you like, front or rear or both.
@@Heeltoe. awesome thanks! but what size would you recommend?
@@christianjohnperez8916 depends on the wheels. 27 works great, is really aggressive but still not sticking out to far. No mods needed.
What's the original offset of the stock wheel?
55 iirc
Spacer are not safe
False
