Eirin, I am a Registered nurse and work in acute rehabilitation. I just watched the post where you shared the experience of your accident. I've worked with many folks that hsve had their lives changed by spinal cord injuries. I have always been afraid to bring up the emotional part of such a life changing event because there is no way I can even come close to knowing what they are going through. I am afraid of bringing such painful emotions up to the surface. You have helped me to better understand. As far as you feeling bad about being angry at the staff. We expect anger. That nurse probably wasn't crying because of how she felt but crying bcause of how you felt. There is absolutely no reason you need to carry that around with you anymore. You have an experience that allows you to relate to others in that situation that someone like me just can't understand. You would be great at helping someone else deal with the emotional trama of going through such a life changing experience. God bless

Hi Eirin, I love you MOST when you share the gritty parts of life. It sounded like you were going to share some big struggles you have gone through the last few months. But then you changed the direction. I share that with you because I am a follower of Jesus and God. Yet even still my suffering has me asking 2 questions. One is, why do I allow myself to live with so much pain, limitation, and Deppression? I would NEVER let my pup go through an once of what I do. Also I don't experience God presence or peace in the midst of my disabilities. Please share your hard times too. It's always encouraging. I loved the hymn. When I finally trusted and believed that I had an inherent and everlasting value - I automatically started to treat myself better. I learned about self-compassion, which I personally think is key to not just surviving, but thriving admidst trials and tribulations. I was 18 my last christmas with my parens before they seperated and while id like to tell you the whole story of giving up on christmas and hpw God restored my faith but thats a long story , however , God restored the christmas decorations from my childhood that i thought was lost in my parents divorce , God also restored 4 red candles , they are used but they are so special to me now to burn something from a time where i still had hope and to give it new light and new hope - i am doing the advent candles for the first time in 17 years - thank you that you share about it 🎄

Wow, this is beautiful. You have such a nice voice, too. Happy holidays, everyone! EDIT: Those are such thoughtful, amazing gifts, I'm tearing up right along with you. I also really enjoy giving and receive really personal, thoughtful gifts like that. A friend of mine once bought me a flute from a pawn shop for like $50 and I sobbed like she'd gifted me a house, but it was because she'd remembered that I'd been talking about wanting to get back into playing music. Our paths have diverged since then, but I'll always cherish that and the role she played in my life before we went our separate ways.

I was 18 my last christmas with my parens before they seperated and while id like to tell you the whole story of giving up on christmas and hpw God restored my faith but thats a long story , however , God restored the christmas decorations from my childhood that i thought was lost in my parents divorce , God also restored 4 red candles , they are used but they are so special to me now to burn something from a time where i still had hope and to give it new light and new hope - i am doing the advent candles for the first time in 17 years - thank you that you share about it 🎄

EDIT: Those are such thoughtful, amazing gifts, I'm tearing up right along with you. I also really enjoy giving and receive really personal, thoughtful gifts like that. A friend of mine once bought me a flute from a pawn shop for like $50 and I sobbed like she'd gifted me a house, but it was because she'd remembered that I'd been talking about wanting to get back into playing music. Our paths have diverged since then, but I'll always cherish that and the role she played in my life before we went our separate ways.
