The other thing is that Persia was a huge empire, not just a small country. It included Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Kurdistan, and Iran, and much more. It’s like calling one Latino. He/she could be from any Latino also know as South American country, not just Mexico. Loll The the Iranians always hide behind Persian thing. Where afghans we know who we are but don’t brag about it. mma, that is what you have been indoctrinated by that government to show their superiority. Perhaps Iran if I am not mistaken. Looking back at the history and you will learn that the Persian empire that you are talking about existed long before Arabs invasion of areas that includes current. Iran, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Kurdistan. They were not even countries back then. Yes during the Great Darius and Sirius there was a big Persian empire but did not last long. When Alexander conquered and defeated Persian empire, they invaded and ruled where your ancestors lived. So should Greeks claim that current Iran belongs or belonged to Greece? Also when Hotakis concurred most of current Iran back in 18th. century, should Afghans claim that Iran included in Afghanistan and ? So many dynasties came and gone but what is important now is that cultures and languages still remained and those of us sharing those languages and cultures should enjoy and cherish our commonalities, not our differences or Nationalities or who is tougher and who has a bigger dick or what not....you know what I mean jelly bean?
Persian and Khorasan were two different empires don’t confuse them. Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and a small eastern part of Iran were called Khorasan. Don’t call it “ Persian empire”.

Here is the song the lady at 7:20 is speaking about, Its most famous interpretations is from iranian musicians. nevertheless, it was quit popular in Afghanistan. In Herat there is still a place called "Muhaleh Mussahia" ( a lot of jews had businesses in that street), Jews where called "Mussahi" which translates to "the kinship of Moses". Out of respect, no one called them jews as far as I know, in Herat at least. ua-cam.com/video/enLSAiycqDU/v-deo.html
@efopo, I hope not. The afghan jews must understand that not all afghans are anti-semitic. Furthermore, jews are an ethnicity of Afghanistan just like all the other ethnicities we've got. Therefore they are a part the lands history and heritage just like the rest of us. Nobody has the right to keep them away.. My mom's best friend was Jewish when she lived in Afghanistan. The friend and her family migrated to Israel just as many other Jewish families did after the Russian invasion. Afghani is the currency Afghanistan. Afghanistani is a nationality, which is made of different ethnicities. The word Afghan refers to Pashtun people. The food from Afghanistan is mostly from its northern regions, which is made up of Persian speaking people of central Asia and Aryan or Tajik decent. The nation of Afghanistan remained neutral during WW2. And the Jewish people in Afghanistan lived in peace. It is sad that these Half Afghanistani Jews do not relate to their rich Afghanistani backgrounds.

@@fabiofranciolly5106 The pathans/pashtuns residing in Afghanistan and Pakistan have a jew connection they are known to be the lost tribes of Israel but they have accepted Islam now.
Palestinians though, are the actual Israelites. While the majority of the Palestinians are Muslims today, many are still Christian, and a few of the Palestinians are still Jewish. Pashtuns consider the Palestinians to be their brethren.
Very strange logic. Why can Syrian Jews call themselves Syrian? Why South African Jews can call themselves South Africans when their ancestors are mostly from Lithuania? If someone is born in Afghanistan they are Afghan and their children are allowed to call themselves Afghan as that’s the most immediate culture in their home.
@@dcentral There are two ways of claiming heritage, either through ethnicity or citizenship. There are people born in Sweden from parents of foreign ethnicities, but they can only call themselves Swedish if their parents have a citizenship. A Somalian born in Sweden is just Somali unless they apply for a citizenship. The majority of Iranian/Persian Jews did not have an Afghan citizenship. So they can't call themselves Afghan.
@@helmandblue8720 Concept of citizenship is a modern invention of the Western world. Just before WWI many countries did not have birth certificates, death certificates or passports. Many Afghans don’t even have birth certificates still let alone passports. Older people there don’t know their true birthdays sometime because they never had birth certificates.
@@dcentral the lack of or the presence of a birth certificate does not entitle nor exclude a person from a citizenship. There are people in Europe as well as a majority in America who don't have passports but are citizens of those areas. I know ethnic Swedish people who until their late 40's did not have travel documents. Did not make them less Swedish. Let me give you an example from my own life. As a medical student I took some time out to work in a refugee camp. There was an Iranian doctor there working with us. He was born in Canada to two Iranian parents whom moved to Canada to seek political asylum just before the regime change due to his father's involvement in politics. They're were given temporary stay but not citizenship. He went to school, medical school and dated a few Canadian women until he finally settled with an Iranian woman who was also there seeking asylum. At the age of 35 he and his parents were given a final no on their attempt to becoming naturalised citizens, and were deported along with his wife and three children. Despite having stayed in Canada for a few generations they were not automatically Canadians even if that was the last culture they grew up in. Although citizenship may be a new thing in Europe in terms of documents that is not how citizenship and affiliation works in other parts of the world. In Afghanistan both historically and now there are two ways of being an Afghan. You are either born to Afghan parents or you are granted an Afghan citizenship. Which the majority of these Iranian/Tajik Jews were not granted. Just like asylum seekers live illegally in Europe and North America these guys families did that in Afghanistan. Until the creation of the state of Israel, when almost all but a handful left Afghanistan to seek Israeli citizenship.
@@dcentral oh and one more thing. There were birth certificates before WW1, and in the times before everyone had a paper copy of their birth certificate (mostly due to financial reasons) people relied on church books for determining 'belonging to a community/nationality'. Genealogy is a huge and very interesting field.
The real afghans are not Muslim. Arabs attacked us and we lost the war against them. They changed our religion, alphabet and culture. It’s sad but true . Long live Afghan Jews. Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhist, Christians and non Islam believers! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Hopefully no one gets offended for me saying this, but I know two families from Afghanistan who I thought had a Jewish resemblance, and so when I asked them if they were from Herat, they confirmed it to be true. I felt really happy to find out that they know each other as well (that way they can preserve their family's heritage as being Bnei Israel). When I looked up the history of Afghan Jews, it turns out that a lot of Mashhadi/Bnei Anusim Jews fled to Herat in Afghanistan (where there are Sunni Muslims) to escape the persecution of the Shias in Iran. The majority of those Jews then migrated to Israel while those of them who embraced Islam remained in Afghanistan. The funny part is one of those friends of mine always gets greeted in Hebrew when he uses the MTA because a lot of the Jewish rabbis can recognize his heritage based on how he looks (even his Kufiyah he wears looks similar to a white Yamaka (even though it's supposed to emulate the Kufiyah of Hz. Shah Abrarul Haqq Pulpoori from India)). It's really nice to meet people with such amazing culture and heritage.

There were Jewish afghans in Kabul before civil war broke out. They were hard working kind people and me growing up there saw nothing different about them. You should know the silk road went through Afghanistan, as a result different people traveled through Afghanistan for thousands of years, some married and stayed there making Afghanistan a multiracial and multicultural country. You see some Afghans dark like people of Africa and some whiter than Russians. We all got along just fine before the war broke out and the war started by two super powers.

4:52 That's CRAZY how these people you randomly stopped on the street just happen to be related to the last remaining Jew in Afghanistan. His story is so famous. What a small world !
Given the community of Jews there was very tiny, it is very likely that once Corey encounters someone that has that community background then they would be related. These videos are an assembly of interviews that were taken over a long period of time, he did not go on a certain day searching for Jews that have some ancestors who used to live in Afghanistan.
across the board in these videos, food is the most regularly mentioned thing....makes sense since my American parents ate the foods associated with Jews of Russia and Poland and I still do along with the foods of these origins as well. and I think that is what makes the Jews cool, you can adopt from all the diaspora. mma, that is what you have been indoctrinated by that government to show their superiority.

It's really nice to meet people with such amazing culture and heritage.

omg much love to our jewish afghans!! The islamisation of Afghanistan has destroyed our beautiful country, culture and history. I hope our compatriots are all thriving and enjoying life wherever they are. Those of us who havent been brainwashed by islam are standing in full support with Israel, we are united in our fight against terrorism and obscurantism💙🤍
I'm from Afghanistan & fuck I*rael
