I honestly think that casting Kevin Costner as Clarks father was one of the best things they did for this film. He adds such a level of "home" to Clarks back story.
I've always thought that showing his at times difficult relationship with his father while growing up trying to understand who or what he was really grounded Syner's Superman. "Ugh Man of Steel is not my Superman because he doesn't smile" * Movie literally ends with Superman smiling * Haters are idiotic. smh lol MoS was the best Superman movie to date, thank you Snyder.
There have been many Superman comics over the years where he rarely smiled. He doesn't have to wear a permanent smile in his face to be Superman. I think Zack Snyder understood Superman's character, emotions, and struggles better than people realized.
Clark didn't know, but his father already saw what kind of a man he will be to the world. That he will be a hero with a cape whose gonna change the world. That scene was perfectly portrayed even with no dialogue.
This movie gets better each time you watch it. I saw it at the premier before the stupid loud crowds of today…hoping for the iconic Superman pose and little Clark does it. It was beyond perfect. Such a touch
That scene with young Klark was the first time Jon K saw Klark as a "hero" which is why he was so keen on protecting Klark until the time was right. I'm sorry but DCEU movies are deep and thematically great.
It's nice to see someone else who understands the depth of these movies. MoS has it's flaws but it was a beautiful movie if you really dig deeper into it.
I kinda wish they showed more of the “Man” part in “Superman.” Clark is a alien, whose the most human out of all of us. He’s chill, compassionate, and is just a great dude all around; I just wish they showed more of that side.

If you don’t get those “GAH! GODDAMMIT THATS SO GOOD” goosebumps when Clark smiles before the title card and Zimmer’s new theme kicks in full gear, you’re a fool.
Now that we got Snyder's cut of Justice League, this scene now has a deeper meaning. "Guess I'll just have to trust you" makes Superman seem like he knows something about the general. Heh.

One of the best parts about Man of Steel, was it's score. Let's not forget how freakin' awesome it was especially during "Superman" scenes. So dark, so heart drilling.

And in addition, the Marvel comic superheroes are so campy and unbelievable. Captain America? Captain America would get their butt kicked faster than Superman taking off to fly somewhere. I'm surprised Marvel didn't make an Aquaman movie yet. I better keep my mouth shut before some Hollywood idiot decides to make a movie in that fashion.
I saw this movie three times on opening weekend. Once on Friday night, its premiere, with my brother, again on Saturday night with my older sons, and then once again on Sunday - Father's Day - with all my boys. I have absolutely no regrets.
the scene of him as a kid with the beautiful music almost makes me cry. I like to think about how lucky he was to land in the yard of a small town farming couple. If he had been raised by anyone else think of how much of a different person he would have been. Small town farm life teaches you respect and hard, honest work without personal gain. If he had been raised by rich snobs in the city who knows what kind of superman he would be.
No other Superman movie has ever really gone into the relationship between Jonathan and Clark and saying why Clark needed to wait and Jonathan shows how much he loves and knew Clark was meant for so much more
I remember first watching Man of steel and liking the movie at best. Over time and after several viewings I've grown to love the film and appreciate it for its themes and how the story was presented. I now see Man of steel as a masterpiece of the genre. Many superhero films have "fun" , "cool" or "stand out" moments, but I can't recall a superhero movie that presented so many "POWERFUL" moments throughout further highlighted by what I believe to be the best overall soundtrack ever put together for a superhero film.

i'm not the biggest fan of this movie but the music and the whole thing with clark kent at the end really did it for me. "welcome to the planet", that good stuff right there.
Aaron Karras lol Welcome to The Planet....Earth.
Aaron Karras Will Smith said it best "welcome to Earth!"
Hans Zimmer, of course.
This movie is amazing fuck you
@@shinobitoby uh oh, someone had a different opinion than you. Burn him, what a heretic
Henry Cavill will always be a SUPERMAN in our hearts.
4:13 That's when you know its gonna be a severely underrated movie
"Ugh Man of Steel is not my Superman because he doesn't smile"
* Movie literally ends with Superman smiling *
Haters are idiotic. smh lol
MoS was the best Superman movie to date, thank you Snyder.
Tommy Cipriani true
Man of Steel complainers: "Superman doesn't save anyone!"
*Adult Clark's first appearance has him saving oil rig workers*
imo Zod and Jor-El carried the movie. It would've been incomplete without them.
There have been many Superman comics over the years where he rarely smiled. He doesn't have to wear a permanent smile in his face to be Superman. I think Zack Snyder understood Superman's character, emotions, and struggles better than people realized.
The Ironic thing its a grounded take on Superman and it ends with him Smiling on the ground fitting in as Clark Kent.
Clark didn't know, but his father already saw what kind of a man he will be to the world. That he will be a hero with a cape whose gonna change the world. That scene was perfectly portrayed even with no dialogue.
That last smile is all I wanted. You can see superman in that moment.I don't care what people says but i got chills when he smiled.
I would have loved to see a Man of Steel 2&3 :(
Would've been interesting to see a Henry Cavil version of Bizzaro. At least we did get a live action version on "Superman & Lois"
Hugely in tears, HOW AMAZING IS THIS! WOW! SNYDER!
That last smile and the cut to music... like how can the MCU or the current DC films even compete with that.... EPICNESS!
3:54 "welcome to the planet" and clark's GENUINE smile hits so hard i cry
The greatest superman and movie. Absolute best.
I kinda wish they showed more of the “Man” part in “Superman.”
Clark is a alien, whose the most human out of all of us. He’s chill, compassionate, and is just a great dude all around; I just wish they showed more of that side.
written zack snyder + producer Christopher Nolan = good job
Runaway 11 Snyder directed it he didn't write it
+ music hans zimmer *
Directed Zacky Snyder + Written and Producer Christopher Nolan
They need to team up again
@@tommycipriani2254 for our sake
My parents were not even remotely interested in super hero movies even if they knew how iconic Superman is. Then I showed them this movie and this ending. They slunked into the sofa and actually wiped their tears.
In a way, that's how I got my wife into Star Trek. Her entire life she hated Star Trek. But when I took her to see Star Trek: Generations, she instantly converted.
If you don’t get those “GAH! GODDAMMIT THATS SO GOOD” goosebumps when Clark smiles before the title card and Zimmer’s new theme kicks in full gear, you’re a fool.
Even after all these years, this scene hits right into the heart.
Now that we got Snyder's cut of Justice League, this scene now has a deeper meaning. "Guess I'll just have to trust you" makes Superman seem like he knows something about the general. Heh.
"I'm here to help, but it has to be on my terms." this is the key idea of the MoS Superman. I wonder why so many people miss it.
Loved MoS then, love it now, so epic.
Me too
Same here, I love this movie.
I love Superman Batman and Spider-Man the best. They are the big 3 for me. Mos is my favorite for Superman as well.

did anything notice anything when she said "Welcome to the planet"?
it meant that she is welcoming Kal/Clark to get along with humans with a new life
Of course we know .
Even Superman wanted to be Superman ❤️
When I first saw this in theatre and saw what the audience/review reception it received. I said
"Man Of Steel is ahead of its time"
6 years on and I was correct.
One of the best movies. Awesome music n dialogues n acting.
Shubham I really don't get why people hate it
Shubham These days everyone is a critic
true...they don't wana see good part just trying to find mistake.
Such a great movie. One of the most ubderates of all time
In zack we trust
Ofer Mizrahi YES
in zack we screwed
In WB we don't. #releasethesnydercut
In Feige we trust
Snyder got fired for a reason. He’s trash. This is the only movie I somewhat enjoyed.
@@mirza5766 No he's not.
Love the piano rift as soon as the focus stays on young playful Clark.
John Kent seeing little Clark with the cape gets me every time😭 Like he knew..
Even a bitter bastard such as myself can’t help but smile at Jonathan Kent’s proud recognition of his adopted son’s future.
1:57 - 2:43 someone give director an oscar
WtF JoK3r yessssss I agree
Sum buddy giv commenter englich award
By the way, no.
🏆
It’s Zack Snyder, what did you expect?
Incredible movie, and Hans Zimmer's music just makes it even better.
one of the more underrated movies out there...
@ 1:26 the general was like “You got that damn right” 😂💀
1:57, and this is why, this is the only Superman movie that i really love.
This movie wasn't as terrible as everyone says. I actually enjoyed it nonetheless.
Henry Shriber Dont worry. This movie has a good fanbase. It got an A- on cinemascore also
Has made 115 million dollars just in bluray and dvd. Dont worry you are not alone. A lot of people like this film ✌
I love this movie prob a lot of marvel fans disliked it typical
I wonder who are those people actually 😂
@@AnonymousSnails Not just those guys but the die hard Reeve fans hate this too but I also like the Reeve movies and this movie.
@@pritampandey9519 As a Marvel fan myself I'm going to have to disagree there
I much preferred Superman in this movie over BVS
Because in BvS, we were more hyped with batman than superman
How did you feel he was different?
The Badass Geek Yeah cos he's a lot happier in this one than BvS which is his tragedy lol.
Yeah. If you think about it, his dads fears for clark became a reality in how the public would see him.
Obviously because it’s a movie only about him
His father seeing that moment was so beautiful. He realized that his son would one day want to help people and would be good at it. He was convinced that he would be something great. He saw it all on that day. His mother laughed it off but his father was envisioning his sons future.
Zack Snyder - actions and cinematography
Christoper Nolan - world building and story telling
Hans Zimmer - composing and background themes
All combine to make a masterpiece
I started crying when they rolled credits.
"Welcome to the planet."
"Glad to be here,Lois."
Zimmer's music was the catalyst to get me crying to much perfect this film was.
One of the best parts about Man of Steel, was it's score. Let's not forget how freakin' awesome it was especially during "Superman" scenes. So dark, so heart drilling.
A MASTERPIECE OF A FILM. This movie is deep and has so much heart and meaning for a superhero film. Marvel can never ever make depict these types of film coz all they have are cringey jokes and unnecessary comedy.
Not All
Sam Raimi's Spiderman Trilogy Is An Exception
And in addition, the Marvel comic superheroes are so campy and unbelievable. Captain America? Captain America would get their butt kicked faster than Superman taking off to fly somewhere. I'm surprised Marvel didn't make an Aquaman movie yet. I better keep my mouth shut before some Hollywood idiot decides to make a movie in that fashion.
@ What?
@@sameer.0759 and 2003 Hulk

"glad to be here"
Absolutely nailed it
I saw this movie three times on opening weekend.
Well if he had been raised in Texas he'd have been a racist ^^
i smile like an idiot watching this over and over again, that's the power of storytelling
Amazing how perfectly composed the music was for this film
Best superman movie yet,and I’m a big fan along time💪💪
No other Superman movie has ever really gone into the relationship between Jonathan and Clark and saying why Clark needed to wait and Jonathan shows how much he loves and knew Clark was meant for so much more
The best superhero movie of all time. period
It's was a sin to fire Zack Snyder. Humanity will pay for this. Zack Snyder is a god.😢
Anshumaan Mishra what ?? WB did . Humanity not did
Hahah we found a snyderlord guys😂😂
I love that Clark Kent smile at the end.
Henry Cavll / Clark Joseph Kent Superman
Jesse Eisenberg / Lex Launer
Hans Zimmer music is just amazing. Gives me chills everytime
He smiled like, he saw the future
Despite the few plot holes, I will always love this movie. The themes, the actors, visuals, the music. It's just awesome.
He is friggen massive I know camera work but seriously he is massive
Ddlala63
He's 6'1 and 200+ pounds here, he isn't massive. Massive is 6'5 and 250+ pounds.
no massive is anyone with huge wide bone structure like for all you know you could be like 5 10 mike Tyson but weight like 235 pounds.
still fucking massive. the height just means youre taller nothing else

"Welcome to the Planet".
His face is just priceless when she says that...
This was the best Superman movie ever.
Yea!
best part of this iteration of superman is that the dynamic between clark and his parents is so perfect.
